It is happening to me, too. My orthodontist estimated that the treatment would last 12-18 months. I've done everything. There were no missed appointments, no damaged braces, the rubber band as directed. Whenever I struggled, I reminded myself that if I did not follow the directions, it would take longer. Well, I am in my 20th month now. It irritates me at times and exhausts me. I didn't mind it much before, but now just seeing it, upsets me.

My teeth shift very fast when i wear my bands, so i had to wear them the oppissite way to make them go back. I did not want that to happen again. So my trick was just wear my bands when I felt like they started to go back. And then my bite was great the next time i came😂

I’m getting frustrated because I feel like they didn’t tell me to put the bands in the right spots! What should I do? Should I go in ask them why my midline hasn’t changed?
I've only had my braces on for a little over a month and a half. They didn't have me wear any rubber bands so maybe they'll have me start wearing them when I go to my next appointment in 2-3 weeks. We pretty much always plan a day where I think I know I'm not doing anything. I'm homeschooled and go to a co-op on Tuesdays so we don't schedule anything that day and I have plenty of time and I'm not a busy person so I can easily make appointments. I'll definitely wear my rubber bands when I get them, I'll probably only take them off to eat. I haven't broken a bracket, I'm either careful and don't realize it or I'm just eating the right foods. I've eaten lots of m and ms and it hasn't broken one. It might be uncomfortable to wear rubber bands but I'm kind of excited to see how it'll feel.

I do all of these things, but the funny thing was, i was breaking many brackets because of a mistake my orthadontist made, i don't know if that set me back or not, but hopefully not! luckily i am now wearing elastics. And am doing very good now. :)
@@nit7831 i would suggest some cold drinks and food since itll help with pain, and then if it gets to unbearable for you, use some over the counter tylenol. that worked best for me. :)
LOL i was that crazy person that wore elastics while they ate. Only cause a combination from the jaw surgery and the elastics made my teeth even more sore. idk if its just me but took 2 weeks for the teeth pain to go away .
They told me to wear my night ones 12 hours a day, I have been wearing them for exactly 12 hours a day, should I just wear them all day? 😅 I wanna be off them sooner, they gave me about 2 years 😓

Do dentistry then later in your career specialise into orthodontics
I still not satistfy with the result but my dentist tell me that it's okay and this is the time to remove the braces. But after i watched some of your video about braces, i have few offside teeth and i think my dentist ignore that sign like i'm really confused when my dentist say that 😅
I’ve had braces for 6 years. I am so fed up with them honestly and my teeths still look terrible
Quick question- since you've had braces yourself in the past, do you now have fixed or removable retainers
removable retainers
@ThriveDentist Just now watched your video on retainers, which had your answer. Thanks.
Love your videos very insightful and how you break everything down!
Live in Ghana, considering braces so came on UA-cam.
This lifetime commitment thing and one other thing is what's making me hesitant 😅😅
The intro reminds me of Russell Brunson.
I wanna ask , when we fix the midline where the upper is off , do we adjust the top to the bottom or the bottom to the top ?
What causes a metal bracket to break?
I do all of these things, but the funny thing was, i was breaking many brackets because of a mistake my orthadontist made, i don't know if that set me back or not, but hopefully not! luckily i am now wearing elastics. And am doing very good now. :)
Haha exact same thing happened to me!!!
How did u overcome the pain would u suggest me some tips to relieve pain
@@nit7831 i would suggest some cold drinks and food since itll help with pain, and then if it gets to unbearable for you, use some over the counter tylenol. that worked best for me. :)
@@nit7831 cold drinks and advil liqui-gels.
Can you midline move overnight? I swear they were straight the other day now the bottom ones are slightly to the right ugh 😩
bro 1-2 years? I GOT 4!! FOUR YEARS OF TORTURE.
😅 I wanna be off them sooner, they gave me about 2 years 😓
I just got mine 5 months ago...and I was told I would have them for 24 months.
In 2weeks I would’ve had my braces on for a year…currently wearing rubber bands and have forgot to put new ones on after brushing a few times but never again lol not after seeing this video.x
Idk how i never broke a bracket in the past 10 months . I've ate the hardest foods ever without caring. I guess i m lucky
Never broke a bracket. I wear my rubber bands. Still in braces. 2 1/2 years!! Why!!!????
Doctor Nate ,how can patient know that he is going to get a power chain after teeth are stighten?
You can't unless the ortho tells you but typically if you have gaps you'll get them.
i got mines on july 10 2020 and they said in around 4-6 more months
ayy same
What is the standard time to see Dr?
My teeth is already pretty except I have a little over bite, grinding, and teeth clenched. It will be a year in October and I feel like my orthodontist is messing with my teeth. My teeth shifts and I now have gaps. I feel I shouldn’t have to be in braces a whole 24 months
You don't have retainers? It's normal for teeth to migrate and shift after braces especially if you're grinding
is this applicable even for 30 year old...just got braces yesterday
I wear braces for 1 year but my dentist never gives rubber bands
Once my bottom teeth are as straight as possible. Im getting it removed, idc and im not going to continue making payments they can send me to collections.
Second week o 2-3year treatment hope i get out quicker
I got mine yesterdar.
I missed 6 months of appointments 😩😩
Get mine off in about a week!
Oh i missed my appointment for 1 years 4 months 😭😭😭during covid that's why still im on my braces
My Dr asked to come every 12 weeks I think that's too long.. not happy with that. I think it should be every month
Teeth extraction for braces make less space for tongue that cause breathing problem it's is true
I got my braces done 29th december 2020 and im getting them off end of this month!
how did it gooo? Im getting them on tomorrow
@@epapao it was alright actually getting them on and didnt hurt. A few days after they did hurt and i could omly eat soft foods x Good luck!
@@epapao i didnt get them off sadly, but will be this week!
@@emilysalvatore2624 HOW DID IT GO??
@@kms617 It went really well thanks, i have had them off for about 2 weeks now and i love it!
I broke my bracket on the 3rd day
I am really appreciate your comment
Doc would you mind if I ask you what issues you had with your teeth?
Edit- And... How old were you?
Crossbite, edge to edge bite, crowding and I got braces when I was 21
How can you tell when a bracket breaks?? :)
It will off of the tooth and will only be attached to the wire.
hey to speed up the process ,, Can I visit the ortho every two weeks instead of once a month ?
