I truly hope you do really well from these videos Linker? Honestly. First, because you seem like a genuinely decent dude, but also because I have got A LOT from them. You are an asset to the community.

A+ video Doug.
Nice video! And...all Sophies look the same! We can't help but sing because it's such an exciting form of expression! 🎶🎶🎶🎶☺☺ I'm worse because I sing karaoke, I guess? But yes, there are worse!
Another great tutorial.👍
I'm new to your channel, Doug, and enjoy your artistry and gentle patter and explanations as you work. Thank you.
Love these adorable snowmen. I'm going to carve some of these this weekend!! I have to pick up the wooden dowel rod now!!
Yeah!!!

You found some time in the busy season! Fun!
Thanks Doug, great video as always,, I'm glad you're still going,, stay safe
Another great carve Doug! Always enjoy watching.
Doug, you and Alec have been killing it! I mainly powercarve, but in 2023 I am going dive into your channel and learn how to carve with a knife. Thank you for the many years of sharing your skills with the world!
Thanks again Doug ! 👍😎
Love these@ Great tutorial 👌. HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY! Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family. Your wife is so cute! All the best. ❤️
What you should be proud of Doug, I hear your name mentioned all the time as the catalyst for starting their carving career. Well done!
Nice one Doug
Thanks Kevin!
I think I remember people carving little people out of the old wooden clothes pins. You almost have created what I remember as a kid. I think I even remember seeing them put on Christmas trees.
Great fun carving.I have dowels from other projects. And I look at sticks differently now👍
Another great one, thanks. You are batting 1,000.
Love the Christmas gift idea!!
Thank You for your video it helps a lot
Doug, I love your carvings. They speak volumes to the viewer. I'm particularly fond of the painted ones but you have some unpainted ones that are incredibly vocal.
Thanks Doug. Yes simple but fun love your ideas. Don't forget to take time for yourself this holiday season.
That was awesome Doug thank you
Brilliant as always Doug thank you. I would like to take this opportunity to wish your whole family a very merry Christmas and a peaceful new year.
If you would have been my teacher in school I'm pretty sure my grades would have been far better!
Thanks Doug for another great video 👍👍
Awesomeness 👌 👏 👍 😍
Thanks Doug, I just finished my first scene using snowman. Pretty stoked how it turned out!
Fantastic! thx Ozzie!
Love your work and explanation of how to approach carving. I am watching every video. Keep doing what you do.
Thanks Doug…i’m really into that
Watered down black technique…sooo good for shadows and bringing out details
Hi Doug, hmmm. I will try a few… 😊😂😁
Doug, thanks again for sharing your talent with us. You enlighten so many lives!
Really enjoyed videos
So nice to spend some time watching you carve Doug! These guys are cute and funny and folky, ha! Happy holidays to you and yours🎄❤️
Thanks for sharing your great skills! I came over from Shawn’s channel after seeing your carvings that you gave him.
This is my easy carving Christmas project 😁
Thank you!
Your beard is cool!
Just dig in!! There’s finally time, and this is such a great project I think I will!
Thanks for your inspiration Doug. Happy New Year.
Doug another great video. It was actually better than most because of getting to watch something go wrong and how you calmly showed that it was easily fixed.
I also thought it was very cool to have Sophie sing in the background. I luve by myself and while I enjoy the quiet, I think especially at Christmas time it is wonderful to have beautiful voices singing joyful songs. Also I thought the reason people got little dogs was so they could talk to them and treat them like babies. Never was really sure I have always been a big dog dude. Regardless it is always creative at the Linker house.
Thanks for the tutorial, I am off to whip up a last minute gift.
Merry Christmas to you and the family! Don't forget brother Carl either as I see you somewhat frequently on his channel, or at least some woodland creature that shares your image! Lol
Love it Doug wish i could do it all my stuff looks like toothpick
Love it. You have the best imagination to figure out these projects. Thank you.
I will be getting a flex cut set for Christmas. So I will give your snowman a try. I have a work shop so I have a selection of dowels to chose from. Merry Christmas to you and your family.😁 Jim's wood shop.
Gosh, these are so cute, thanks for the tutorial and Merry Christmas to you and your family Doug.
Thanks for this. And happy holidays to you and your family. Appreciate all your tutorials!
Many thanks for being so inspirational Doug, love what you`re doing! About to start my carving adventure as soon as my knife arrives. There`s postal strikes here at the moment which is a bit frustrating but hey ho, patience is a virture. Greetings from England!
Amazing as usual Doug. I could watch you for hours. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merci beaucoup pour votre travail, c'est merveilleux de voir la naissance d'un personnage de A à Z! Ils sont magnifiques! Bravo! Joyeux Noël à vous ainsi qu'à votre famille☃🎄🎅🧑🎄
As always, Doug - love your carving style, and your instruction. So entertaining and educational. I also appreciate you carving with knives that are affordable and easy to obtain. Thanks!
Great work again my friend! I am going to attempt this one with a 1 x 1 and make it into a dowel shape..
I love it!
Perfect Doug 👍
I'm new to this and really enjoyed making this love how you show step by step . Love watching you videos and can't wait to do more of them.
Love it.
Awesome carve, I’m doing one now …..😊
Way Cool 👍❗
Great stuff! These look great.....got some dowels left over from the last time 😁 Have to try some. Thank you for sharing. X
Merry Christmas to you and your family. 😘🏴
Great as always Doug. How about adding a toy soldier to the dowel clan?
It amazes me how you can make anything out of a piece of wood! My dad used to "widdle" using cedar. He just passed on October 19th. We have a few pieces of his good smelling pieces left. Keep up the awesome work. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Nice little whittle. Reminds me of one I done about a year ago, with a greenwood Blackthorn stick about 3 quarter inch diameter and about 5 inches long - based it on your 5-minute wizard. As you mentioned, it does tend to fall over if touched, so I've got it safely away from all of that now (can see it standing proud on the TV shelf, right beside the 'log' effect offcut that came from it).
Awesome !!
Hi Doug, another really satisfying carve. Thanks for the vid. You mentioned that you're using a Flexcut knife to show that it isn't about the brand. I've been using the knives from a Pllieay beginners set, the set is available on Amazon and comes with 2 knives and some bits of wood. An extra 5 mins on the strop and they're grand. I've managed to whittle along with several of your vids. It really isn't about the brand.
Great vid as always. I see Shawn had some wonderful gifts for his cabin.
How about whittling a Cali (Labrador dog)? I am guessing a lot of us have dogs and would love to get whittling.
As I look at the wood dowels I also see not only Christmas/wintertime projects but those could be carved differently for every season. Patriotic holidays, fall time, Halloween.
I’m building a library/playlist of them
Sooo cute!
I'm glad you gave the Flex Cut knives a shout out because of all the ones you use they are the only ones available. Helvie, OCC, and all the others are back ordered into the next century. Unless you want to pay triple the price on Ebay.
39:19 Greg have you ever tried using MinWax Pre-Stain in place? Your thoughts?
I’ve heard of others using with success
Doug, How do I donate?? !!! I hope you read these occasionally. I am an avid fan and use your step-by-step, well-explained vids almost daily, and most of them over and over while I work on your projects. I have asked this question before, but forget/can't find the vid I posted to see what your answer was. So, I posted to shortcut to this vid to watch for an answer. This brings me great joy and an opportunity to slow my world down when I am doing this. Look forward to hearing how to show my appreciation by donating!! Tom Ramsey
