Hi QOVES Studio. I saw a news article online that described how during this Covid-19 pandemic, people were judged to be more attractive when wearing a face mask compared to when they weren't. It would be cool to see a video about this and the science on why people perceive it this way.

I'm surprised about what you said about the tattooed lady when I instantly assumed she was an alt model. There's a HUGE world of alternative fashion (goth/punk/e-people etc), it's a big market and like any other type of clothing, you need people to model them. And it doesn't make sense to put a "normal" model in those clothes because it's instantly noticeable as off. People who want to buy these clothes want to see them on people more like them so that means models with tattoos and piercings and coloured hair. It's also a sphere that has been getting better for plus sized models.
Others mentioned fetish modelling which would make sense with her look too but I just thought I'd mention that there's definitely space for her in fashion modelling, just not mainstream fashion.

I have always had very good posture and have always been complimented, before i even stepped into the modelling industry. The more catogaries you can be put under the more jobs you will get . In a typical modelling agency they will have catwalk and lifestyle , if you can be in both categories then you will get more work. If you can be in alternative agencies such as fitness , plus size or alt modelling that will provide further opportunities too. If you can be in multiple agencies such as a top uk agency and an italian agency you will get more work. The further your willing to travel ,the more work you will get. In the modelling industry you have to have money in order to get money because you need to have the money to pay to travel to castings miles away. Be strong enough to take criticism on the chin about how you look and not compare yourself to others. Be on top of self care and your over all health, You will need to have good time management, hold an up yo date passport, exude confidence, be on the ball because you will need to change poses to every beep of the photography equipment and be good and fearless with travel because you will be expected to travel anywhere at any time. Its a ruthless industry that is romanticised

I think it depends on your country standard beauty..and the look they are going for.
I can only do background extra in local movies , tv shows, and tv commercial .. so often people see me as a blur or just a few seconds. That is also quite hard to be a plus size background extra .. Once I had a director that says I look too distracting.. and I was removed to the back way from the main character.. The only print ads I ever did was a last minute casting next day photo shot by the photographer. But I have a director who would always contact me regularly for any background work (no lines) in his tv shows and he will always feature my face 😂😂😂
For me, I'm a plus size hejabi but born in secular country and its not easy to be the first choice for anything.
More than often I'm the second choice when the main person cancel the work.. Sad but it's okay still have some income from that

Model literally means "a 3-D representation of a person or thing." It also means "something to follow or imitate." In the marketing industry, models are not used to be something to aspire to, they are there to sell something. Marketing models have to be a representation of a commom consumer so they can imagine themselves as that person. So, not a thin white person with a perfect face. Even runway models are not supposed to look like a beautiful person, in fact runway models have to have very subdued faces to not draw interest away from their clothes. They are literally moving mannequins. You're the one not understanding language.

@@katherineofarrogant6370 you're applying a very technical definition here to get around what most people traditionally view modelling as
"A model is a person with a role either to promote, display or advertise commercial products (notably fashion clothing in fashion shows) or to serve as a visual aid for people who are creating works of art or to pose for photography"
A model in the traditional sense is someone who has rare genetic traits that are favorable for fashion/commercial use I.e tall and facially attractive people
A person who sells their genitals and breasts on Only Fans isn't a model. It seems like sex workers are now stealing the term "model" to normalise and de-stigamise their low status job

@@royalzak2670 I agree with you're definition of what is model is that you quoted. Taking the definition of model as a profession is not "making the term obsolete." Average people modeling that is used to sell something would still be a model. I never mentioned sex workers, but ones that only sell posed photos, are also models because they are using their bodies to sell something as advertising.
