Right? He didn't look awful before. Certainly looked British, they have a certain look to them sometimes, but for a British person, he looked pretty normal. Could've stood for a rhinoplasty, if he really didn't like his nose, but definitely not to the point that he's got it at now. (Not that there was anything WRONG with how he looked before, but his nose was certainly a prominent feature, and I know how that can be... I got my ears pinned the summer after 8th grade because I was teased for them sticking out at like a 90 degree angle.)

Like, I personally don't think there should be limits on things like clothes, makeup, what you eat, etc. I mean, I know white people get hell for wearing their hair in braids, claiming it was first done by africans therefore not a 'white' thing. But I have Scandinavian/Viking ancestry, and according to history it's possible that they too, also wore braids in their hair (they favored hairstyles, it's thought) that kept their hair back and in a fashion that made it harder for enemies to be able to grab it and disadvantage them in a fight. The fetishization towards Koreans, or Asians, is just so creepy. Growing up, I remember how it was a thing seeing weaboos 'pretending' to be Japanese. Now seeing Koreaboos doing the same thing, its all deja vu.
I was looking for an English speaking Korean community online I can play dnd with, and stumbled onto a “Korean role play” site… as in, (mostly) white people role playing as Korean… I was so disturbed.
I was once accused of pretending to be Korean when I said I was in a group chat and I was baffled but chalked it up to my being very fluent in English, but seeing that I realised why.

sadly many people abuse their power. I am sure these doctors know what they are doing.
praying on the vulnerable is not something new, and it is very easy to manipulate people with low self esteem and not reevaluate mental stuff.
Oli had a life before, he was a kid, he was a ‚normal‘ person, we tend to forget that once someone get‘s publicity. I can‘t help but always see peoples vulnerable inner child crying out, but the adult is just ignoring that.
I don‘t know what happened in Oli‘s life. We all have a need to feel seen, heard and witnessed, but something happened that this need of his is being expressed in such a way. I‘m not against beauty procedures, I know they can influence people in positive ways, if they are well thought out, but wanting to look like a completely different race obviously comes from a deep place of self shame and low self worth. Like how much do you have to dislike yourself to genuinly want to look like a korean idol.
And it‘s sad bc our society enforces us feeling horrible about ourselves

Oli seeks out plastic surgeons they can work with that will accept their requests and take their money. I’m sure many of the surgeons they’ve spoken to have said “you will never look like Jimin” or something to that effect, but then Oli will just move onto the next one. There are always more corrupt people in any industry who put money over morals and over doing what’s right for the client/patient. Oli is going to just go for ego-stroking yes-men who laugh all the way to the bank after they keep giving basic surgeries and messing up Oli’s features more and more. Their surgeons need to be named and shamed, too. I don’t see how this isn’t medical abuse. I know there’s a lot of plastic surgeons coming out now and shaming surgeons that encourage over-filling because they don’t even want to be associated in the same industry with the greedy hacks.

I just clicked on this out of curiosity but this was actually super informative as someone who draws faces. I find Asian face types to be some of the most difficult to draw bc these subtle bone structure differences are hard to get right. All of your characters can just end up with the same face if you aren't paying attention. Thanks for putting it in a way that was easy to understand!

@@kyitty there is somewhat of a surgery for that. to make the double eyelids look more asian, there's a process where they inject fat near the eye fold to fill it in, since Caucasians usually have deeper eyes and Asians don't. the thing is it still looks super unnatural

If a doctor can fix his botch job nose then I disagree, that is the main thing making him look strange and botched. A doctor that can fix his nose and dissolve that filler to make Oli look normal would deserve respect IMO.
@@mirsolis4992 After a certain point, no doctor can fix the nose, because even attempting anything there would be too dangerous as it's already lost so much cartilage. I think Oli is at that point, and I don't think any respectable doctor would risk it.

The doctors on Botched REFUSED to do anything surgical to Oli (I think they were asking for a rhinoplasty specifically that time around) because the doctors were like "look, if we do what you want us to do, you run the risk of nasal collapse. We're not going to knowingly fuck you up like that. We highly recommend you don't do anything else surgical unless it's to repair the damage that's been done, not to look 'more Korean'." And then Oli went and got more surgeries from shady doctors who don't care about ethics despite being warned.

You explaining what fillers do to the upper lip and making mouth open at resting state makes me consider what i’ve been thinking for a while- that there’s also a possibility that the members jm or nj or even sj also do lip fillers but not as extreme as oli london….there are times I notice before major album drops/promotions that their upper lips are less plump and then suddenly are really plump when promoting. I’ve thought about it a lot. Not in a bad way, cos obviously if you do a procedure like this there’s a correct way of doing it where it looks more ‘natural’ and not forced. Food for thought 🤔

I mean Hollywood has been doing “yellow face” makeup for a long time and even they can tell him he did the opposite to his eyes as what the sfx makeup artists would do. Absolutely. I’m mixed myself. Guatemalan, German being the two main parts of me. I have very upwards tilted eyes from my indigenous ancestry and that’s what at least irl makes people able to see I’m not a white Personal despite being blonde and light skinned. Eyes are a good indicator of ethnicity. What Oli did just emphasizes Caucasian to me. There no way he’ll ever look Korean. Even mixed people often lean one way or the other. It’s bone structure.
He has upper eyelid surgery and it just made his eyes more deep set and round. Many Caucasians, specially men have hooded eyelids and he got rid of that wich defeats his proclaimed purpose.

I think jimin did not have too many surgeries 😅😅 maybe 1 or 2 but not a lot they just put on a lot of lighter makeup base and pre debut they were all tanned

This video format is messy. It's super confusing when you talk over the footage while it's still running and the people in it are talking. Your voice is so low compared to theirs that it's incomprehensible, but it's loud enough to mess up comprehension of the footage dialogue. This sort of video critique of another video is best done with some editing, not as a spontaneous one shot (unless you always pause the footage to talk). If we could see your face we'd be able to register when you're reacting/talking, but even overlaying one of those wiggly soundwave designs to match your speech could be enough to at least differentiate where that muttering background voice is coming from.
That makes me sad that someone would injure themselves so much to look like someone else. He was a good looking guy.

I've been seeing alot of people these days arguing that race is a social construct and that there is no such thing as different bones or facial structures between ethnicities. I always thought that was bullocks, I mean any basic amount of research shows that different ethnicities and races have different features, but this channel really helps prove that

It's so funny Asian people I have met say they are really jealous of my wavy hair when I'm actually jealous of their hair, I think Asian hair is so pretty being all dark and straight. Everyone wants to be something they're not

I’ve just had a surgery that was necessary and the recovery is agony. I honestly don’t get why anyone would put themselves through a surgery unless it’s a necessity. Every time you go under a general anaesthetic there’s a small risk of never waking up again. I’m so happy my parents raised me to be confident with what I was given. I can’t imagine hating myself so much that I want to be somebody else.

I’m absolutely loving this series, but as some other people have pointed out, everything is kinda messy. I can’t tell when you are talking for half the time, and the video audio is way louder than your own. I recommend not talking over the video, too. It can get difficult, especially if someone isn’t completely used to your voice, when you are talking at the same time as the video. Also, please pause the video when you are talking!!!
I hope you can do a commentary video on his more recent looks. He's gone on botched and has had more surgeries since they filmed the video you reacted to.

He's in his 30s/40s, the oldest age for that is 25/26 (not counting idol exceptions but those don't apply to him, obviously) he thinks he's an idol, which probably means he thinks he's exempt. But there's always the possibility of him not knowing about the mandate at all considering he knows nothing about the country

I always found it telling that most plastic surgeons have little to no work done on themselves. Should that deter you from getting plastic surgery? No. I'll be the first to say I'd die for a nose job to shave the middle a bit. But surgery after surgery, and especially emulating a particular person, is dangerous; physically and mentally.

Here's how eye bags are different than aegyo sal.
Eye bags are mostly caused by weakening structural muscles that cause fat to pool in that area instead of being evenly distributed, but can also be caused by fluid retention (such as if you've eaten a lot of salt), lack of sleep, irritation from allergies, etc. They appear below the crease where you can see where the eyeball stops and the socket begins, falling as low as sinus cavities.
However, aegyo sal appear in a different place-- they appear above that crease, just below the lower lash line, and they're caused (when naturally present) by a highly developed Orbicularis muscle, which are more toned and developed during youth, leading to the association with aegyo sal and youth/innocence. They also are now achieved with fat transfers and injections of facial fillers, however, in order to replicate that look in adulthood. For most people, they appear when one smiles, but when fat or fillers are injected, it gives their eyes a sort of "permanent smile" look to them.

Ayyyye Anthony Youn! He has interesting stuff about cosmetic surgery, on team "let's not go overboard my guys" and I appreciate that.
I'm not from the medical field, but even I immediately saw a few things that I as a (money loving, ignorant) plastic surgeon would've done:
Brow bone shaving - his brow bone is too prominent. It makes his eyes look small and heavy. Also if you compare it to Jimin, jimin has a kind of flat forehead.
Lip lift - usually looks better than lip fillers, at least from the front, sideways it can look weirdly flat. Also Jimin's lips are higher. Oli is trying to bring them higher by making them bigger. That's not how it works
Almost his whole face bone structure needs reshaping.
A lot of people say that he's just trolling the whole internet by now and tbh, that's what I think, too. If he really was 100% invested in all of this, he would've taken all his money to South Korea, because they are experts in reshaping faces. They understand how anatomy works. But no matter what, he would never look like Jimin or asian.
