People who judge personality on a beauty ranking piss me off like i know I'm ugly you don't need to say how good my personality is it just makes me feel worse 🗿
I always find these Jubilee videos so hard to watch. It is impossible to find out who is actually the most beautiful by asking those being ranked. It would be much better if they live streamed it and viewers voted. Also don't let them talk so its purely physical.
The issue on that is you can jsut take a photo of a ranking and that is it then, if they dont talk and there is no bullshit there is no video for them. That is why it goes like this, else it makes no sense to create a video. Sad but it is
I agree this was more social/pity pandering than anything. If it was done objectively, we would’ve seen a radically different outcome. Also it’s interesting why the conversation of masculinity has to be brought up which changes based on socio-cultural norms in a video that was meant to rate physical attractiveness. I dare to say those who throw the word toxic masculinity around just do it to score social points. I personally feel like that term has lost its weight.
Maybe its not pity pandering? Maybe they don't want to be mean? Maybe its better to be nice people instead of being honest at the cost of being social. I think there are other factors here than pity.
@@TheShubLub It does more harm than good tbh. Niceness is always good, but to come on a show where men need to “rate” looks requires actual honesty. You could visibly see how much they were trying to overcompensate and you see that in the end result. People participating obviously felt this and us as viewers know this.
I feel like this is just the same as Reddit subs for rating attractiveness, nobody is willing to be honest and admit the truth to people that are unattractive. As someone that is unattractive I always found this very frustrating because there is a complete incongruity with how people would rate you in scenarios such as this vs your actual lives experience. Irl that tall guy is going to be treated significantly better than the others in the group yet his rating does not reflect that whatsoever.
You gotta go to r/roastme if you want someone to pinpoint your ugliness. Definitely don't do it if you are objectively attractive, then it will be your narcissism being thrown about.
The end made me think that you should one day do a Jubilee style video yourself. For real though. I know it takes a lot of money and effort, but I think it could play off. It'd grab a new slice of audience who otherwise wouldn't watch these videos.
I feel like we need to talk about the fact that people are so afraid to have “offensive” opinions, and feel the need to social pander. Masculinity by today’s culture, in my personal opinion is influenced by what society considers masculine, however it’s still influenced by biology similar to femininity. Like for example, aggression, dominance, etc I would all consider masculine. Both men and women can have masculine/feminine features, and naturally speaking most people have a mixture of both, but we tend to lean towards femininity if your a female, and masculinity if your a male.
The amputee is definitely number one. Funny enough until he talked about his legs I didn’t even realise he was missing a leg. I guess his tattoo do distract the eye
i dont know if this has any scientific backing so feel free to correct me, but i genuinely believe that pandering and lies like this causes body dysmorphia. like, everyone tells you that "oh you're so pretty!" when you have a mirror and you literally know its not true, so when you make changes to your body and people say the same "oh you're so pretty!" you can't help but feel like they're still lying, hence the dysmorphia. it definitely had an impact on my life, i still see myself as obese even though i'm at a normal BMI now and a size small/extra small.
That's what i thought too. Most people are average looking or just above average when it comes to physical beauty (this is proven by bell curve distribution) but it is the thinking of "Everyone is equally beautiful (physically)" NO, WE DON'T and there's nothing wrong or anything bad for being average looking. This type of pandering and lies that supposed to be lifting up each other they said are actually just creating self-confusion bcs the reality of life will always be the reality not everyone has a privilege from beauty in life. You can improve your looks but the your full potential still depends on your genetics. If that potential is you just born being average looking, then focus on something else in life maybe you have other gifts like intelligence on something or talents.
I agree, I was deemed as 5/10 some years ago. I didn’t give a crap about how I looked and I was very unhappy/unhealthy back then. But people called me pretty and stuff, which gave me somewhat hope that I was actually a pretty girl. I also got some negative comments about my appearance, and as an unhappy girl, you will quickly believe the negative. After a long journey of self love growth etc, I have my ‘glow up’. But I still cant really see my beauty, because of my trust issues.
And the weird thing is that people rarely ever compliment a person they deem very attractive because we automatically assume that they must already hear that every day so it’s unnecessary. While that person might receive less conpliments than an average looking person so really all of us can’t tell if we’re good looking based on other people’s opinions. It’s a lose lose situation
Exactly, I had body dysmorphia because of this. Was incredibly obese in my early puberty ages, got people whom close to me saying "no no you're totally fine, nothing is wrong with you!" yet when I go out and met strangers, they obviously treated me a bit differently. At the beginning I thought they were right, so I stayed obese for couple of years and do nothing. But eventually I knew it was a lie so it made my BD worse overtime and I developed an ana. I still struggle with it to this day. People usually don't consider my face ugly, some even rated me above the average but ofc my weight had a lot to do with my acne etc and affect my appearance so much. I wish people around me were being honest from the start. Let's stop sugarcoating everything. Not everyone is attractive, not everyone is physically beautiful and it is okay to be ugly or average looking.
The colour of the pink jacket and the skirt totally clash and the jacket is too tiny for their frame. It's not very cohesive. It's giving "I raided my big sisters closet"
It's funny how they redefine masculinity here the same way they redefined intelligence (as mainly emotional intelligence) in the intelligence ranking episode
They didn't redefine intelligence. They swaped it for empathy while claiming it is a kind of intelligence even though these two concepts are diametrical opposites.
@@The_Legend_Himself i don’t think it’s about political correctness, out of all those guys only the dude with a skirt and the dude with “androgynous” look are good in style imo, the rest just felt bland 🤷♂️
Granted who would have the balls to call someone ugly to their face. I think these kind of videos should be done behind some sort of screen or one way mirror.
@@dds5993 its not even fear, its probably like " i dont want to be seem as a scumbag". Because i would not say to their face "my brother that looks horrible on you wtf where you thinking?" because thats not who i am
Would have to agree that avant-garde or nonconformist ≠ good style. Also, I think the other guys wanted to humble the "Legolas-looking" guy by placing him further down because humbleness is an attractive quality. People in general don't like straightforward and honest people because it can often be confused with having an ego.
Totally agree with the style points! Yeah he had a trendy outfit but it was unflattering and out of proportion. Vishawn had the most flattering outfit choice, if that's what we’re grading on
I really don't get why the guy in the denim jacket was ridiculed when he argued masculinity has something to do with our biology. He did not find the words to explain his views properly, but what he said was not an outright nonsense. Yet, people in these videos always try to make it appear like any other idea outside the social construct theory is unacceptable or something we should just laugh at. Even though I agree, that masculinity is a social construct it doesn't mean it has nothing to do with our biology and sex hormones which are associated with the development of certain physical features, male-typical behavioural patterns percieved as masculine. On the other hand there are many social norms incorporated into our idea of masculinity, but it's not purely a social construct in my opinion. So both of them can be right, but it's really difficult to have an intelligent discourse when you're automatically laughed at, and intentionally ridiculed.
yup, i think he was correct. it comes down to hormones, but hormones aren't the only factor? Like if you have higher estrogen/lower testosterone, you are more likely to present/behave feminine (like most adult females) and vice versa. Not 100% of the time, but I do think it has a pretty big influence.
As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I knew the guy in the crop top was gonna get ranked higher out of pity and pandering. Jubilee knew what they were doing with this video.
In reality people who do "weird" shit with their appearance like that guy and the black guy who was allegedly the second best looking have decided for themselves to get out of the trying to look attractive game in any conventional sense and are doing something else. It is like a sort of unacknowledged, woke-acceptable blackpilling. I also think it's pretty clear--and funny--that the guy with one leg was way too handsome to qualify for the group's pity party gifts.
I think this was such a crazy experiment because many of these men have a different idea of what is male beauty so that's why they started to judge each other based on personality. That said, I'm a hetero female. I find the man with the tattoos the most masculine and attractive regardless of his leg (I wasn't attracted to the hetero man in the jean jacket even though you might think so); I also liked the personality of the tattooed man versus the other man. I don't get a sexy vibe off any of the other men which makes sense because of how I'm wired.
duuude same :0 totally unsolicited personal ranking of the men in this video from a bisexual female: hello kitty shirt guy -> pink jacket guy -> black guy -> jean jacket guy -> flannel guy -> tattooed guy ; i like the smile of the guy with the tattoos, i think he's the most facially attractive of the bunch, i like his complexion, his build, and the way he carried himself to top it all off. no one else except top two are attractive to me. it's super interesting watching guys judge each other's attractiveness (and qoves judging all of them), compared to my own judgement.
The way you and the women here choose wich one was the most atractive in the group its maybe because of some of them being more extroverted and thus aperieng more confident and the other ones more introverted and less charismatic even tho it just an ilusion because introverted people can be confident as well while maybe giving the impresion that they are not, also probably your hormones cycle and use or not of sexual pills could be related to the desicion you made, sorry for my awfull english
@@joegambitt7414 no that's okay i understood your english :)) you're right there are a LOT of factors that influence how we perceive and judge someone's looks. sexuality, hormones, culture, individual experience...and to top it all off, we're judging these men off of a youtube clip/commentary. i'm sure that if i knew any of them in real life, my opinion would drastically change (for better or for worse). i will say though, if your comment has made me realise anything it's that at the end of the day, beauty is more subjective than it is objective. at the very top of the scale of attractiveness we can universally agree who and what looks good, but in the middle class/rankings where we see and interact with everyday people is where the subjectivity is really boosted. while it's totally okay and encouraged to chase after an objective standard of improving your attractiveness, like eating healthy and regularly working out to lose/gain weight and tone one's physique, you can tell that opinion is still varied even among us women, let alone men. qoves' entire channel represents how looks can be improved objectively, and so if we were to assume that qoves' judgement was the most "certified" and objective, then there are still plenty of us who disagree with him! the most objective interpretation of looks is not necessarily the most common or sought after. beauty is mostly genetic, and if you can achieve attractiveness on the highest scale by all means go for it ! but for the rest of us locked in middle ground, just know that everyone's opinions differ. i think that every man, woman, and non-binary person can strive to look the best they can in the way they feel most comfortable doing so, instead of constantly tailoring to others✌🏻
The dishonesty and lies they tell each other just to comfort is disgusting for me, I absolutely hate those people. I'm so glad that I know where my place in the attractivness scale is, made me prone to lies and made me so much more confident. Confident enough that I'm not even judging people by looks and dont compare myself to others, because I dont feel the need to. When I was less confident I used to pick on people who were less attractive than me, now I just dont care.
Thank you for pointing out harmony within an aesthetic ALSO INCLUDES your actual physical appearance as well. If you have any part that is incongruent don't even bother attempting the aesthetic because you WILL look ridiculous. when you could be looking harmoniously attractive instead.
Tbh it's because they're probably aspiring actors or whatever in some way and saying something controversial in a video seen by millions, their peers and future employers could be detrimental.
In terms of what kind of clothes you need to look attractive, you got it halfway. You can be loud in terms of shape, types of clothing and colors, and still look good. What makes you look good, is how you are using colors, textures and shapes to embrace features in your body, obviously depending on your body shape and what you want to pop up. You dont have to wear boring gray colors to be attractive, every person depending on their skin tone, hair and eye color have a set of colors that make you pop up, also shapes that benefit a type of body in specific, so yes a man can wear a top and a skirt and look good depending of what type of cut it has and what type of shape he has.
The guy in the pink jacket should have worn either white shoes or hot pink shoes. The pinks don't match. They should have also worn like a dark green crop top. It would make the pants fit the outfit better, and it would also not blend into their jacket.
Men and women aren’t social constructs, they are simply male and female humans. It is masculinity and femininity that are to some extent socially constructed. A woman doesn’t become a man when she changes from a dress to a suit, she just looks more stereotypically masculine. The male and female sexes are also not constructs of any sort. They exist independently of human society.
Defining masculinity based on what a man should do or shouldn't do is putting the cart before the horse. Masculinity is an emergent property of whatever kind of environment you're born, raised, and live in. I am whatever kind of man my loved ones need me to be. There is no utilitarian formula for creating the perfect man for all societies, for all times. Anyone who says otherwise, liberal or conservative, is being hubristic.
The man with the prosthetic leg was definitely the most physically attractive one there. Love the half buzzed half long, dark shiny hair, rich olive skin tone, tattoos, piercings, good muscle tone and nice smile. That's my opinion obviously but hey 🤷🏻♀️
Some people will hate on you if you say that not all clothes look good on your body,if you dont care then whatever but you cannot just look good in everything whatever the factor is,extra or lack of weight, body proportions.
I wouldn't say faces are completely objective. There's objective conventional attractiveness and subjective attraction coexisting most of the time and just how much of that is cultural influence we can't really be so sure of. There's plenty of people who are physically attracted to objectively less attractive faces. At least I speak for myself, there's a lot of jarring or weak facial features that I find that I love in people. I also have realized I'm REALLY attracted to features that oppose what I've been exposed to in my country. I had a pretty bad relationship with my family and I was kind of the black sheep so I never really liked or related to them or our Portuguese culture in general so I often projected my attention towards foreign stuff that contradicted the cultural values I was taught. Now as an adult I find myself incredibly drawn to stereotypically nordic, english or germanic features. Honestly never gave this much thought to faces but it's really interesting 😭
As a heterosexual female I can just say that they all came across as too pity and insecure. But the one with only one leg was probably the most masculine and sexy. At the end I would always choose the guy who is sexy over the one who is stylish (though I did find the outfit of the dress guy fun, I would have commented on it but no way I would have found him sexy..though I think some guys might even still be sexy in a dress but it certainly doesnt help him as his personality is not sexy at all)
80% percent of this comment section did not watch this video and is just ranting either about cringe and or “pitty” votes. Chill people, it’s not that deep. This video does provide great analysis of golden ratio and the science behind esthetic though. HOWEVER one aspect was a bit disregarded: Lense ratio and lighting. We do not know with what lense and distance this was shot and how the lightning setup works. There is a chance of them appearing different on camera than in reality, especially when it comes to facial features.
If I knew I was being recorded for UA-cam, I wouldn’t be genuine in any of these Jubilee ranking videos either. However if the cameras were off, I’d be as honest as I can be.
Most jubilee videos the participants are too diplomatic, and i understand why, you dont want to be rude to a stranger and say "my brother in christ what the fuck are you wearing?"
The more effiminate individuals didn’t like the end guy because he has the most masculine features and thus represents that masculinity that sadly they do not achieve and thus run the other way.
Pink jacket's style with just black chinos and shirt like some of the other guys could have been everything he was going for, while also being a killer socially conforming outfit. Hot, masculine, beautiful, loud and socially accepted all in one.
@@shteatinggrin I wonder if the human brain subconsciously considers the prothesis a real leg or not. I think it actually makes a difference that he's able to stand right next to the other guys as if he had two legs. If he was sitting in a chair without a prosthesis, I bet my reaction would have been different. Interesting for sure... maybe I only found it appealing because it doesn't really seem to disable him in any way. So I considered it an interesting variation rather than a true disability.

On the whole gym thing it's actually wild when you think about how little people go to the gym in western countries and how easily it is for men to shoot up in the "Physical" attractivness scale just by losing a bit of weight and adding muscle in the favourable areas like chest shoulders triceps/traps and a bit in the biceps and forearms. Consider this, In Australia 2 in 3 Adults aged 18 or over were overweight or obese and 36 percent were overweight but not obese and 31 percent were obese. In men the figure is higher 75 percent of men are obese or overweight. Even just by losing a good bit of weight as a guy can shoot you up the "Physical attractiveness" scale and you can easily go from a 3-4 to a 4-5 just by doing that assuming you've got ok facial features. I personally went from hovering around 105kg as a 5ft 9 male (So obese to morbidly obese) than dropped down to 73kg but went back up a bit to hovering around 77-78kg and by adding a small bit of muscle (Nothing extreme) I notice i get more looks from both genders. I think we're all a bit hard on ourselves but i guess that's the competitive nature of been a male is that we're always sorta looking at the competition and putting so, soo much pressure on ourselves to the point that it's probably giving us needless self-esteem issues (I'm not exactly innocent of this) and if you're going to the gym (Although gyms are a friendly envrioment) that competition "Thinking" gets worse because you're already around above average men vs been around average men. The whole attractiveness thing is such a surprisngly complicated topic.
I think they should have collectively agreed with each other to not bring emotions into this topic. It's hard to do, but in order to have a more logical and honest conversation, you shouldn't take everything so close to heart. Not saying they shouldn't have emotions, just saying that they should all collectively understand that this needs to be an honest conversation, free from pandering and toxic positivity.
From first impression, I found the denim jacket guy the most attractive, but when he started talking, he became less attractive to me for some reason. Bro just sounded like he didn't even know what he was saying.
Idk, is he more conservative or just doesn't buy into their bs? I too believe that being kind is important, but when everybody is fake it's refreshing to see someone being more real to themselves- and he wasn't rude by no means. And in my opinion that's what makes him more masculine than other guys, including the narrator of this video. Men are *on average* more assertive, more dominant, blunter, more direct and more courageous- to say that is not sexist towards women, it;s just how the testosterone affects people and men happen to have more of it. Of course you can be a woman and possess those qualities or be a man and be a complete opposite of that, but if we are talking about masculinity and feminity, those ideas are not created out of thin air, the have their basis in the statistics.
I think an avant guard outfit can be good, but some ppl just take it too far. Like the guy in pink, the jacket could be nice but what the frick is that jean long skirt imo disgusting. plus pairing a jacket with his tank top doesn’t make sense to me, the shirt is too tight and honestly, I wouldn’t wear that small of a shirt if my abs weren’t muscular or toned at least. I wouldn’t wear it regardless, but who wants to see belly fat. The outfit just doesn’t blend well over all.
I don’t think he was saying that. I think he was saying that gender is considered the “societal aspects” of being a man or woman, AKA what people think being a man/ woman is about versus sex which is the biological features of being a man/woman AKA sexual dimorphism. That being said, I also don’t think gender is completely a social construct. I believe it’s a mixture of both biological and social, because the social aspects are still again, influenced by our biology as men and women. Even in the DSM-5, they still stated that despite what social constructionists say, gender is still influenced by our biology.
""Man" and "woman" are also sex. Those are simply the words for for adult males and females respectively. The words for gender are "masculine" and "feminine".
Jeez everyone was so afraid of offending each other, if anyone tried to be blunt over there, they'd be placed last even if they if looked like david gandy

then that would dismiss the entire meaning of the jubilee video. 💀 What would the point of ranking others in all honesty be if you’re not going to come off as a little rude? Naturally there are going to be some people ranked at the bottom, because they probably deserve to be at the bottom .
In 03:02, it looks as if you erroneously interpreted the graph, where the area you marked was in reality 7-8 in terms of attractiveness, not 9-10. The strips were diagonal instead of upright.
Okay you are telling me the only guy that had a chance in modeling was ranked last? That really buffels me, I guess uqliness is also sum sort of confidence booster.
I think their concept of the those being ranked ranking each as a collective decision is not working in the slightest for several reasons. Honestly, we will all rank these people differently based on our own bias and also because we got to see how they interacted with each other. Because I have a type, i immediately put the amputee in firts place and then green shirt guy(in love with his outfit btw). But I also put the pink shirt guy last and then plaid shirt guy second last. Jean jacket is third last because i wasnt fond of his personality but might've ended up third had he had a more agreeable personality as compared to the other(which i didnt pick up on much from). Either way, i still find these videos fun and hearing different perspectives.
While I was watching this I had to wonder if they were thinking of beauty i a subjective way, while Qoves/our narrator was thiking more objectively/scientifically? Both are "right", and the differing framework would explain the very different ranking.
Dude without the leg needs to lean into it. Get a nice facade for the leg that truly catches attention. He can essentially emit transhuman dread. Idk what do you mean by arbitrary and objective here. But to measure it they do that in hospitals where they put you inside a bod that scans it for accurate results. Idk what it's called or what type of doctor to go to for that though.
if they completely reversed the ranking like made the last guy first etc., i'd be pretty happy with that. the guy with one leg's meaningless comments and arrogance while calling himself humble irritates me, worsening his score. but for looks alone probably he would be second to last and the one with an underbite would unfortunately have to be last regarding looks only, even though he seems to have a great personality.

@@s0ne01 yeah I’d probably agree. I was thinking what I’d change if it were on me. I think it’d be possible for a guy to pull it off well tho definitely harder. The overall style doesn't work at all tho. Every cm of his outfit screams for attention and the silhouette is also so outlandish, even on a woman it would look weird. With a normal shirt that covers the stomach and maybe that same jacket, but trench coat length, possibly shorter sleeves, a longer chain necklace and normal flat shoes/boots I could see it working.
That's an interesting take
Exactly, I had body dysmorphia because of this.
Please yes recreate these social experiments! H8 seeing people pander each other when reality is so different
The colour of the pink jacket and the skirt totally clash and the jacket is too tiny for their frame. It's not very cohesive. It's giving "I raided my big sisters closet"

And he kept slouching like he wasn’t comfortable, he had better posture before putting that jacket and shoes on
It's funny how they redefine masculinity here the same way they redefined intelligence (as mainly emotional intelligence) in the intelligence ranking episode

They didn't redefine intelligence. They swaped it for empathy while claiming it is a kind of intelligence even though these two concepts are diametrical opposites.

Gay people are offended easily
In these kinds of videos they talk about all the things except looks.

I thought the same
Same here! He's definitely the most attractive
Vershawns style is really cool it's not over the top, and he looks really relaxed in what he's rocking

Great point

Defining masculinity based on what a man should do or shouldn't do is putting the cart before the horse. Masculinity is an emergent property of whatever kind of environment you're born, raised, and live in. I am whatever kind of man my loved ones need me to be. There is no utilitarian formula for creating the perfect man for all societies, for all times. Anyone who says otherwise, liberal or conservative, is being hubristic.

At the end I would always choose the guy who is sexy over the one who is stylish (though I did find the outfit of the dress guy fun, I would have commented on it but no way I would have found him sexy..though I think some guys might even still be sexy in a dress but it certainly doesnt help him as his personality is not sexy at all)
I sincerely didn’t notice his prosthetic until he mentioned it. Cool to see more representation

Pink jacket's style with just black chinos and shirt like some of the other guys could have been everything he was going for, while also being a killer socially conforming outfit. Hot, masculine, beautiful, loud and socially accepted all in one.

Im so happy I finally found the " Style, Fashion, and lifestyle " channel, but from the perspective of a nerd who loves the numbers behind something.

A male/man isn't a social construct, I feel sorry for that poor chap he was ganged up on he knew he couldn't win.
I’m not sure if I agree with him but he wasn’t saying that. Being a man and being masculine are two different things.
""Man" and "woman" are also sex. Those are simply the words for for adult males and females respectively. The words for gender are "masculine" and "feminine".

Because I have a type, i immediately put the amputee in firts place and then green shirt guy(in love with his outfit btw). But I also put the pink shirt guy last and then plaid shirt guy second last.
