I’m confused; I thought they were suppose to rate the men on physical attractiveness. Why are they talking about imagined dates? Lol I feel like I’m a teacher reading an essay from a student who totally misunderstood the essay question.
I really dislike with how they treat Roy. If they don't find him attractive, that's fine but the pity, condescension, and lack of honesty about it are just deplorable
@@seabreeze4559 that’s not why, he’s just unattractive. Jorje is a wasian I believe but if there was an attractive mixed person they’d be ranked higher
are you really crying because they were trying to be nice? Is this the biggest problem males in America face? A group of women ranking dudes? Oh boy. No wonder North korea has y'all by the balls.
Yeah the whole predicament with Roy came off as extremely disingenuous. I honestly think the best approach would've been to separate the women and have them each rank the guys separately. Each rank would grant the male a certain number of points (so 1st is 1000, 2nd is 800 etc) and then they compile the total points and give the final rank based on that. It would've been more true to each woman's feelings. Oh and of course each woman would've ranked away from the men; being in front of them creates bias.
The way the women talked about Roy was absolutely horrendous. I can't imagine any guy would want to be talked about like that. Like he's a little kid. They're trying to save his feelings but in the process just making it worse :(
@@nicholascarter9158 are you gay bro? totally different angle to come from. Guys dont wanna be seen as a tender little sweetheart to girls and girls wouldn't want one if they were being honest with themselves. pretty obvious and if you are girl, then you are most certainly a rare exception and not the standard.
"Infantilizing" is the word I believe you were looking for, in regards to the women toward Roy. It's gross and I've had it happen to me to my face a number of times. "You're so cute, like a kid," or, "You look like you're 12," is a rude and weird thing to say to any adult (or teen). Especially if you're then going to pursue that person romantically- that makes the comments creepy as hell! That's not what was going on here, but please do not compliment or comment on someone's youthful appearance like these women did.
Its different for men and women though, cute young women are considered attractive while for men its strong tall and masculine. In fact a lot of women like getting called young and teen looking while guys like being called older.
@@nomdutilisateur5724 perhaps to you, but he has good sharp masculine features, nice eye shape and head shape, and has a great frame (wide shoulders and slim waist). He also seems pretty social. I think he probably does okay in real life with women, only thing is his height holding him back
They're also personifying Roy without knowing anything about him, which I think is a (stereotypically) "feminine" thing to do. How are you going to call Roy a "sweetheart" and put him in all these fake scenarios without any information regarding his real personality?
They tried to not be so mean. So instead of just saying it like it is “I don’t find you attractive because you seem a bit nerdy and insecure” they’ll add some scenarios to see the best in him and lower the blow. It’s hard to be mean/judge someone negatively out loud to someone’s face especially myself. Even if the things are true, it hurts to say it out loud to them.
I don’t find nerdy or boyish necessarily feminine. That seems like an inaccurate description. It’s less masculine but I don’t know if I would say feminine. Someone like James Charles is much more outgoing and confident but to me he is feminine.
For me, Jorge is definitely number 1, in fact the guy they put at number one would be closer to the bottom, personally. I feel like you exaggerated a bit on how unattractive Roy is though. Other than his acne, he has some nice features despite being more feminine looking. People act like if a guy looks feminine he automatically loses, but I think there are a good amount of women who prefer a more feminine type, especially younger women.
Sam, the white guy who was placed first, looks very basic to me and looks just slightly above average (6/10). This goes to show how white guys have it easier in dating. Anthony has the best face (7.5/10) but his height is almost a death sentence in dating. Jeremy and Jorge are 6.5/10. And Roy is 5/10.
I've had women/girls talk about me the way they talked about Roy, and I'm a straight female. It's so weird. It's like they're really saying, "You're not like me. You don't belong around me. You could never be my friend. But I don't want to say that out loud." It's patronizing. The women/girls who said that to/about me were always the type of people I didn't want to hang out with anyway. Just ignore me. I'm sure Roy would've been fine without their attention.
To be honest, the outfit and the haircut is a big deal when presenting to a girl, most arent like you where you check every detail with magnifying glass. Also if you check Roy reacting to the ranking, he look way better.
Its funny how the woman interpret a personality or characteristics into the appearance of the guys. Meanwhile all the men really just rated each other on the appearance alone without interpreting much into it, except Jorge for thinking that Sam looks like a Frat Boy, but thats mainly it
Yeah i think it's because the "male gaze" is centered around the physical appearance while the "female gaze" has more layers to it so most women find someone attractive because of multiple factors like characteristics and personality, not just their physical appearance.
@@fladerud9375 Yeah this is bullshit, basically every study or experiment I see, women and men basically want the same things. Which are first of all looks, by far, then a mix of status and personality depending if it's a short or long term relationship.
It's also because of personality. They had a more dominance/competitive personality while Roy seemed to be more passive and avoid conflict. Roy's also the most feminine / youthful looking in the group, so I believe there was a sort of subliminal pecking order that manifested, it made it easier for them to place him last whether they meant you or not.
Proof that not all women think the same about attractiveness...I also had a different ranking. And I was shocked that none of the girls found any of them attractive! Either my standards are too low or theirs are too high, lol
@@ptlovelight2971 I personally found none of them attractive, men come an numerous varieties and this was only a small sample of them. It's not shocking when you think about it.
@@privatep2730 They did him dirty by putting him in 4th because of pity. They obviously didn't find him attractive so they would be better off placing him in 5th without all the patronizing baby talk.
I don't get it. If I was asked to judge someone on their attractiveness, I would be strictly judging on how physically attractive they are. I would not be making assumptions as to what kind of human they are. Their ranking system was so bizarre.
I think its more of the fact that theyre infantilizing him. Like theyre making fun of him as if he has less value and is not taken seriously. Nobody wants to be treated as a joke. That applies to everybody. Though I dont think a girl being masculine is a good fit for an example on how the "little boy" and "baby" comments affect a guy.
The infantilization of Roy really made me wonder the ages of everyone in the room. Roy truly does look the youngest out all of them male or female. And women to tend to prefer men their own age.
@@xshxr I really don't see that for the average person. At least not a significant age gap. But a guy being a few years younger, especially since they all seem to be in their 20's, can seem a little juvenile still.
@@xshxr different people definitely interpret those findings differently. As a female the focus is clearly just on what the older man has materially. And yes, I see your point stranger on the internet 🙄
I think style is an extremely fair thing to judge a persons attractiveness on. Sure a person can put on whatever you like if they’re open to being dressed by their partner constantly, but I want a person who just gravitates towards a style I find attractive, I don’t want to have to tell my partner what to wear lol that doesn’t even seem healthy. Style is one of the biggest things I judge a person on, it usually comes before even their physical appearance for me. It’s just what I tend to value most when it comes to looks. I think it’s way more fair than judging people for all the physical shit they can’t change when we all have imperfections.
Style can be learned. Genetics can't. You aren't picking a lifelong partner on style choices and don't even try and virtue signal that you do. Because your swipe-rights do not reflect that.
roy is objectively attractive symmetrical face and height his personality is why they are “pitying him” but they are attracted to him it’s clear the man have decent genes
Personality is nonsense. He's good looking but they just find him too young and immature looking, especially with a skinny weak frame. I very much heard the same things from women many times in the past, ie when I was 25 I'd hear "you look like you're 18". That's not good, women rarely wanna date younger men. When I'd let my beard/stubble grow to 4-5mm I'd get 100x more female attention, it's quite ridiculous. Then I also started going to the gym and bulking up to some extent, it makes a world of difference. And with this type of neoteny genes, you look young and attractive until far, FAR later in life - now I get smiles from college girls at the gym or on the street and I'm 31.
@jaqlynHan A lot of girls would go for a short good looking guy, as long as he is taller than the girl, or atleast the same height as the girl, 'especially', outside of America (this height obsession is more of an American thing). Most men would never go for a fat girl, unless he has a strange fetish. A lot of young actors, especially pop stars that young women absolutely swoon over, are under average height, on the shorter side. If you take the number of fat female singers or actresses, that young men swoon over and consider attractive, there would be almost none. All guys do is make fun of the fat female celebs. Being overweight and shorter, are completely different things, especially if we are taking globally.
@@youtubesucks2755 Most fat guys would admit not being attracted to fat women, I've seen fat guys try and earn a good enough income and a decent status, so as to get a girl in shape, if they are lazy to get in shape themselves. The fat, broke men usually end up settling for fat women.
Honestly, I think Jeremy's outfit is what hurt him. Compared to the other gentlemen in the lineup, his outfit falls flat/is a tad juvenile. If he had a more mature, put together look, I think he could have easily secured one of the top spots. I don't think it had anything to do with him, "being able to handle last place..."
From my perspective, based on their style, Jeremy is more attractive and relatable. I wouldn't call it juvenile, so much as alternative. If they were all strangers in the street, and I needed help, I'd approach him first. It might be more of a cultural thing.
Yeah the asian dude looked really sweet and attractive, but it depends on the girl, if she is looking for a cute boy or a strong manlier looking guy. It's like guys, when they prefer either hot models with sexy curves or cute, shy girls.

Exactly! The second I clicked on this video, Roy instantly caught my attention, and I dont understand how a head full of hair and pretty eyes is not attractive? I am at a loss for words with this video.
I'm not saying white people have a lot of privilege or he only got chosen that high cause he's white but I feel, atleast the blue eyes part, it partially did help him out a bit as europeans are still seen as the standard for beauty due to colonization especially from other non-white races. Also Ik non-white people can have blue eyes but europeans/people of caucausian(or even Indo-European) descent generally have it more often and he happened to have it.
@@vampirefae7458 Blue eyes alone can work wonders. Back in 2016 a Pakistani tea seller went crazy viral in Pakistan (India and even other neighboring countries). He wasn't something out of ordinary for a Pashtun (ethnicity in Pakistan) but guess what he had blue eyes. And that was a major reason behind his over night fame. The dude was 17 and women were going all crazy. And blue eyes are a genetic mutation all blue eyed people have a common ancestor who was a European.
I think people brought up in Asian cultures will find Roy to be more attractive than people brought up in Western cultures. Asian cultures have people growing up appreciating more androgynous looks and accepting both masculine and feminine features in men whereas Western culture has a heavy emphasis on masculine features for men. (Thus why Kpop guys are huge in Asian countries) But I think more people are being introduced to Asian cultures and have started appreciating androgynous guys in recent times leading to a slight shift in perception. Still not mainstream in western countries but slightly more accepted. I do like and appreciate QOVES's objective ratings and judgements because most of the stuff said are backed by studies and statistics. However, I think an issue with taking QOVES's assessment as the bible is that sometimes it doesn't take into account preferences from other cultures. (Like Asian countries) As someone from an Asian country, I know a lot of girls who prefer Asian guys over White guys or Black guys. So I think upbringing plays a huge part in the subjectivity of attractiveness. Despite beauty being subjective, I believe there is some objectiveness to attractiveness and I think that is what QOVES excels at.
Thing is, there has been a phenomenon in recent years in 2nd or 3rd generation Asian women living in ‘white’ countries having a preference in males that are not their own race or asian at all. We’ve also been ranked one of the lowest on attractiveness in preference and I want to cite the source but I forgot the entire article title. This has lead to, unfortunately, a very bad time for us in dating and everything. We have to be really attractive, really financial stable or really popular
@@derekli1741 I think it's also a fact that if you live in a Western country, there are statistically more white men than Asian men to choose from, then you are more likely to happen to end up with a white guy. Let's say there are 2 Asian guys in your town and 50 white guys in your town. Then you didn't happen to match with personality or maybe didn't find the two specific Asian men attractive (because there weren't many to choose from), you have 50 non-Asian men left to choose from. And with the Hallyu wave from Korea and rising popularity of East Asian entertainment, I don't think more Asian women really prefer white men over Asian men. It's more about the available men living in the same place I guess. So if more Asian women move to Western countries (for job opportunitites, etc.), there is just a different selection. I don't think that Asian women purposely choose NOT to date Asian men. That would be so weird.
Totally agree. QOVES don't talk about attractiveness in different ethniticies too much, like cultural preferences in aesthetics. And with a lot of women getting more and more attracted to Asian men through K-pop, K-drama, etc. Realizing that Asian men are in fact very attractive too, maybe they should say why and what makes them so attractive. They should do the same with other cultures too. It would be very interesting.
I think Roy looks really attractive but u described him as “young” and “feminine” and that is kinda my type ngl. Very masculine men aren’t really my type. Jorge is for sure most attractive tho
Personally, I think their outfits dragged them down. Only Anthony wore something that looked great on him. One's outfit can really have an affect on how you look.
Anthony???The guy in the plain green t-shirt (too tight) and plain jeans? I thought for sure they'd rate Jeremy higher, with his hip black and white outfit, complete with knitted beanie cap and hipster beard. Maybe it was too intimidating and that's partly why they went for Sam with his unhip, untrendy, average and comfortable outfit and average yet friendly face. Some women might find a guy more trendy than them a bit intimidating - kind of like a too fancy restaurant or hotel. Like women, hairstyles can really change the appearance and attractiveness of a man's face. All of them would benefit from a more suitable hairstyle and makeover.
@@SY-ok2dq I didn't really like Jeremy's outfit though. I've never understood why some people wear t-shirts on shirts. Sam looked fine in his outfit though. He looked clean and well polished. Both him and Anthony looked great. I just personally prefer Anthony's style.
@@Kille483 Jeremy's style is not at all my personal preference, but I think most people under the age of 60 would agree that he does look more "hip", trendy, and pays a lot of attention to dress, style, and accessories, for a man. If he wore a structured jacket or something like that, he could create a straighter and broader line for his shoulders, which would give a stronger and more masculine look, make him look bigger in the chest/shoulders. I think the right clothes could increase Jeremy's attractiveness rating. Well that goes for all the men. Sam looked merely tidy. Not polished but rather, like he put on whatever is comfy. Stylewise, Sam should not wear horizontal stripes as this broadens his torso/chest and that kind of sweater makes him look chunkier and shapeless - like he's hiding a flabby and chubby body. His torso looks too wide for his height and head size, makes it look out of proportion. Just a style point, that's all. If I were him I'd continue to wear whatever I like (which is what I do, but I'm aware that some things emphasize things which decrease my visual harmony and appeal - but if I like it, or it's comfortable, I wear it anyway). I guess Anthony is going for comfort but so are Sam, Roy, and Jorge. Jeremy's outfit looks comfortable but also very coordinated and "pulled together" and planned out, rather than "thrown on". Brighter colors would look better on Jeremy, Roy and Anthony, in my opinion. That dull green doesn't do much for Anthony, as his face is kind of monotone and lacks much color. Jorge on the other hand, has that dark hair and dark eyebrows contrasting with his skin. He can wear duller and blander colors as his face is already lively and has color contrast.
@@Kille483 I think the short sleeve tee over a long sleeve tee, and layering clothing, is a trend from areas like Seattle and the Northwest, where weather can change quickly. So if it gets a bit cooler, you just put on a short sleeve tee. And from there the style spread. Maybe???
There's so much Roy can do to up his game. His hairstyle, He can bulk up, better posture, more body confidence, and a better outfit. I believe he can be in the top 3 of this group if he worked on himself. The others, on the other hand, hit their peak. The short guy will always be short and the other guys are already somewhat built.
His face isn't ugly but it isn't handsome either. That's nothing to be ashamed of because if you lined up 100 men (in her age range and not morbidly obses) in front of the modern woman that's how she'd describe 95 of those men.
I'm a girl and I immediately found Roy the most attractive just from a glance, I like his features and I generally like boyish/prince looking guys like Timothy Chalamet, kpop idols etc. Aggressive looking guys scare me, maybe cause I'm younger lol I don't find them nearly as attractive
What you basically said is "i am young and like boys my age, and Roy looks like he is my age", which is sound reasoning. However it doesn't really account for actual attractiveness of these men
Wait I’m genuinely so confused. Wasn’t Roy one of the best looking? He has a proportionate face and a tall build. Why did everybody rank him last? He should have gotten third at the least.
Weak shoulder. Weak, undeveloped muscles. Ethnic face despite being half white. The ethnics came last because ethnic features are direct contrast to white features which has high status. Short whites beat tall ethnics in this game.
@@voltinator I don’t think so. They rated him y you lower because of his shy personality. The short guy with a good personality got rated high because of his confidence. Also what’s his name, Jorge got rated high despite his clear Latin nose because he had a good personality plus his other attributes canceled out his bad nose (btw I don’t have a problem with Latin noses, the bad part of his nose how it was crooked, not the bump). Roy would have gotten rated much high if he was as confident as the short dude, or Jorge. He had pretty much perfect features besides his nose. I think these girls just like more masculine faces, but that does not reflect the feamale population at all. Most of us like pretty boys more.
tbh i think it also could be a cultural thing! i grew up in an east asian country and the standards are a lot different there so he probably? would have been ranked higher there. i feel in western countries people tend to care more about having masculine features, confidence etc. where in asian countries people care more about looking youthful and whatnot
@@thorafoster-bill1919 You're thinking incorrectly. Ethnicity is like carrying a deformity in the West, it's a bone deep expression of difference. Ethnics are essentially treated like deformed whites. This is where all of these white run liberal sympathy groups come from in white society-they literally feel bad for ethnics for not looking as good as them. Ethnics must compensate with other features in order for them to appear normal to females. Sam was pretty shy too. He came in first. It's because of his physical features that he came in first. Jorge has a distinct chin with cut features and he has decent height and a slim waist which compensates for his ethnicity. Have you also noticed that the girls rated the guys from darkest to lightest?
That's funny they said they found none of the guys attractive. In reality, I found none of the girls attractive either, which was the very first thing that came in mind.
I wouldnt say they were all unattractive, but that they were closer to average looking. So they have an everyday beauty to them, but nothing eye catching.
Anthony would easily be ranked the highest if he was as tall as the other guys. I think the height standard for men is definitely the most unfair since it's literally impossible for them to change their height, apart from getting extremely invasive surgery. People often like to compare it to the weight standards that women face but they don't even come close. You can gain or lose weight if you work really hard, you can't do the same for height.
I've also heard the comparison between male height and female weight, but more on the lines of body shape, which is obviously linked to weight too. That whole, must have a stupidly skinny waist (remove some ribs), and huge chest and ass (implants or dangerous BBLs) is as unrealistic as expecting men to all be over 6 foot. Obviously both beauty standards are unhealthy and as damaging as each other. I just wanted to point out that a lot of the time women's weight is in question, its also/mainly their body shape - breats and butts enlarge with weight gain and decrease with weight loss, some guys think the hourglass shape is achievable through working out when its actually determined by genetics like fat distribution and bone structure, and some think its possible to have high content of body fat in some areas but not in others without surgery etc. Weight seems a bit more nuanced when it comes to women imo, so people use weight interchangably with body shape/proportions. So, to me, the comparison makes sense when we look at men's height and women's body fat distribution, as both those features are involved in phsyical attraction, and are unable to change without surgery.
Obviously having them introduce their occupations is a big confounding error. The most desirable trait of males is (for better or for worse) status. Although he's not the most attractive he is an astrophysist which probably boosts his "value" a lot.
@@red_calla_lily yeah, girls look for Intelligence, looks, status, success, social skill etc while mostly guys prefer curves and looks, and look for women that are less smart which is an advantage to men when it comes to dating, you can do more things to be more desirable ( read this article, ''how your brain choose the people you desire )
Dress sense is extremely relevant to attractiveness. Yes, they could dress up in whatever you put them in but they point is how they choose to dress themselves. It goes hand in hand with grooming and hygiene.
No, that’s been debunked. That’s basically playing a bit on phrenology, which is a pseudoscience. I can tell you that many people often have wrong first impressions about me because my neutral facial expressions differ from how I interact with people. I also know a lot of people who look bright, cute, and bubbly but are also mean and difficult to socialize with. Bottomline is, the inside shines more than the outside, when given the chance. There is no correlation between good looking people and the likelihood that they will have good personality/social skills/principles/pleasing attitude, whatever “desirable” personality traits mean to you. 😊 The face is like a door or a lobby but it doesn’t equate to the whole house, if you like. The only to be learned is that the probability of looking approachable depends on how average your face looks, but looking approachable gets debunked/proven only when you actually spend time with them - which means facial aesthetics is not really correlated and isn’t a good indicator of someone’s personality. The face of the Ramirez criminal is fairly common from where I am but they are nowhere near being violent psycho/sociopaths. The thing is, the media will only be interested in good looking criminals. They are not representative of the population of killers. The true crime genre is only as popular as the killers can look. The criminals’ facial aesthetics heavily influence the decision of the people making true crime documentaries. A handsome face, in whatever field, is sellable. However, there is an ongoing/idk if it’s done already research about a violent gene mutation but the people whom they surveyed did not have similar facial aesthetics.
I felt that the girls rated physical attractiveness mixed with "body language" and rated Jeremy lower then Roy because his ways were the least pleasant of them all. Same goes to Sam. He showed himself as the most pleasant, despite the first impressions. What counted the most was body size/proportions/harmony, then likeability. Roy behaved boyish, so the girls reacted treating him boyish. He didn't even got upset about it because he sees himself boyish (imo).

Just starting, but I have to add: All these guys are very cute. Not looking forward to comparing their looks because appearances are always icing on the cake. If someone rejects you because of your appearance, they don't deserve you.
I don't think that's fair. I mean if someone rejects you as their friend based on your physical attractiveness, they don't deserve you. That should not matter, except when concerning hygiene which in some cases can be included in physical attractiveness. Bad hygiene reflects badly on a person. However, concerning relationships, it's very very natural for people to judge based on attractiveness and there's nothing wrong with that. You can't help who you're attracted to physically. It's not a question of "deserving" but a question of hormones and which features universally attract other humans.
That's genius of the producers to give them ear defenders because they can still hear most of what the women are saying. Just goes to show you how disgusting people can be when they think you can't hear them.
It surprised me that some of the women said, they didn't find any of these men attractive. All of them looked rather attractive to me. When they walked in I thought to myself I'd have a hard time ranking them objectively because I think they've all got something attractive about them. And then the way they were negotiated who goes where, they were so respectful and civil about it. When the women walked in...well...that's a different story
I didn't find any of them attractive either, but not because I thought they were bad looking, in fact the only one I wouldn't call good looking (so above average) was Jeremy. It's just that I'm rarely attracted to people without getting to know them first, and there are very little exceptions to this. It doesn't always have to do with high standards. I feel like men, way more so than women, find almost any decent looking woman attractive and then conclude that a woman who doesn't find them attractive also denies that they are decent looking. That leads to them feeling disrespected and to animosity
I completely agreed with everything you said. Especially your insights on how the girls were acting. Specifically the condescending comments some of the women made towards Roy. When i first saw this video that was something that stood out to me, and my immediate thought was "I really hope he doesnt watch this." Hes not a boy who needs taken care of for Gods sake. Also the sexism of "We need to see their butts." (Or whatever she specifically said.) And honestly the only reason it annoyed me and I'm pointing it out is because if this happened in reverse there would be a completely different reaction. (Btw I'm a female and I still notice these things.) And I think a lot of the way some of these girls acted comes down purely to maturity levels. I can at least speak for myself and say that i grew tons just by the time i got to my late 20s. So thats what i chalk some of what they said up to. Thanks for the commentary. Really interesting to hear what you think.
It's hard to rate people objectively if you're standing in front of them. You don't want to offend anyone and yet you have to. Also, they really shouldn't have given them cues about their personality and job. Purely based on physical attractiveness: I would rank Anthony first (as you said: very masculine, balanced features, good build, the only drawback is the height. Also, nice skin). 2: Michael Jordan guy. 3rd/4th: the white guy or Jorge (not enough material to judge) 5th: Roy

Most of her appeal is her personality and confidence.
I agree with you, except on the hair and clothing. The way you present yourself is a big influence on how attractive you are. If your casual way of dressing looks good on you and presents you in a nice way, it means that you have a certain style, you know what works for your body and shows that you care. It isn't just "you can put any clothes on this man and he will be less/more atractive". Wild some of the women said none of these guys were attractive and would pay them no attention when all of the men here are on their level or look better.
Idk why, but I genuinely find Roy more attractive than most of them. Maybe it's because I had a K-pop phase a few years ago and prefer more boyish features. Jeremy would be second, and Jorge would come last.
Jorge is the one guy here who, if I saw him at a bar, I'd think he was out of my league. Roy feels like a guy we could do some My Fair Lady shit with you know, give him that Mia Thermopolis. Jeremy feels cooler than me, but not out of my league hotter. The other two guys just feel on my level.
Roy's current outfit makes him look like a boy visiting his grandma or like his grandpa dressed him. His grandparents are probably thinking, "My grandson is such a handsome good boy." and it's not doing him ANY favors visually, he can still wear sweaters but preferably in a different material and/or pattern. Different pants too, or color. To top it off, he's has a terrible haircut/hairstyle which make his facial appearance look rather unbalanced. Also, if he could, he should try growing facial hair as well to help combat his baby-like appearance.
As a woman, it is incredibly hard to rate average looking men on physical attractiveness. Unless you are handsome movie star or male model level looks, we probably aren't even going to be attracted to you just by looking. Once you have a personality, a biography, a status, then we will start to become attracted to you. This is why less than perfect looking actors are considered "hot" by women. It is because of the roles they play and the traits women start to associate with them. Ryan Gosling is a good example of a guy who would be seen as terribly average in the face and unremarkable when walking down the street, but women go nuts for him, now that they have seen him play a stereotypically ideal husband in the notebook. Looks can help, guys, but unless it's a one-night stand, it is how you act and your social status that women will consider more.
It's just status. Ryan Gosling is popular among women, therefore a chain reaction occurs where more women are drawn into the buzz. For people in general, especially women, social perception holds as much weight as objective perception.
@@TactlessGuy Your missing the point. Your argument is Ryan Gosling is popular among women...so women like him lol. But what made him popular among women to being with? That's the point. The original comment said Ryan became popular because he has acted in roles that appeal to the female gaze. He was painted as the ideal boyfriend/husband (caring, dependable, loyal, family man, provider, etc) and thus women swooned for him.
Taking everything in consideration (face, stance, clothes, personality ect) all of these men are about a 3 to 2. It's why the women had a hard time ranking and why it's mostly up to your own preference. (Women do care about things like personality and clothes not just the face)
I think as a man you couldn't understand about the outfit thing, its not about wearing what I like its about what you generally dress yourself up like. you can can look very fashionable with your casual hoodies and stuff its not about wearing something formal. i personally think that roy is actually cute coz I like cute guys and I don't like masculine men he is no 1 for me
Sam, the white guy who was placed first, looks very basic to me and looks just slightly above average (6/10). This goes to show how white guys have it easier in dating. Anthony has the best face (7.5/10) but he his height is almost a death sentence in dating. Jeremy and Jorge are 6.5/10. And Roy is 5/10.
Sam had the best overall package. Not too short, not too tall. Great smile, decent hair, blue eyes, very laid back and most likely the smartest of the bunch. Easy pick
I was appalled with how the women acted, so incredibly disrespectful and reflected a clear lack of awareness. They’re far more self centered than they realize and it was exposed through how confidently they all condescend Roy. Disgusting. Also.. they’re too good for these men? Why.. they don’t even know them.. Women place intelligence over physical appearance when it comes to attraction, and they haven’t spoken with them so how would they know? I’m amazed at the ego and arrogance of the women. It’s embarrassing. Can you imagine if the men did this?? I wish each woman came out and had 30 seconds to line them up according to their perception of beauty. It would be far more straightforward.
I agree with your last paragraph definitely. What you’ll find is that the rank is determined mainly by the most outspoken people. Had they just gotten each woman to choose individually it would have made much more sense. Same for the guys because the same think happened (granted way less weird than the girls) but the most outspoken people got their way in rank.
@@owengonzales53 oh I gotcha I was just confused cuz you said he and I’m actually a girl. But yeah if anything this is an example of group behavior more than anything, the more dominant women’s opinions were echoed by everyone else. Also, how do you think their condescending attitudes would change if that one guy said afterwards that he came from money? Just something to think about I guess.. I think the arrogance that they’re not attracted to any of the men or insinuating that they’re too good was more a reflection of a lack of basic self awareness.
Roy took me back to my school days. When the girls in my class found me cute but only as a baby brother. And as far as protection is concerned, I stood up for one of my female friend once, it didn't matter.
As a European woman, I find it funny how men find the most masculine looking men the most handsome. I think most women prefer the kind more feminine looking one. Muscularity is a good example of this. In this video Jorge seems like the one I would choose for a longterm partnership.
I think masculine guys are preferred by most age ranges, while feminine looking guys are preferred by younger women. anyways I think a combination of both masculine(mostly masculine) and some feminine features to balance is the best. Look at sean o pry or david gandy, they are masculine but have feminine features
I hate when people basically “baby” adults because they’re shy, it’s so gross! No adult wants be looked at as a kid, the ladies were weird talking about Roy like that
I think the only time height can be an issue for men is if the particular woman they are interested in is noticeably taller than they are (without heels). Then it can be a little awkward. But overall, confidence counts for a lot. I have seen some very average men and women come across as incredibly attractive just by how they carried themselves. And you don't have to be an extrovert, good posture counts for a lot.
The reason why the girls talked about scenarios like what kind of guys they could be and what a date with every guy would be, is because women usually link personality to a men's attractiveness. They tried to guess these men's personality(based on their looks) to rate their attractiveness.
I think the ranking they really wanted to do ( and the more accurate representation of everyone's onw ranking) comes at 18:47, just before the blonde girl starts talking about Roy and they change to make him higher. That wouldn't be my ranking tho, mine is : Sam, jeremy, roy, jorge, anthony.
I caught that too...I feel like if they had more participants to choose from they may have ranked differently. It was like by default someone had to be #5 and #4, so they changed it
I feel so bad whenever I watch these. It feels unethical to make people rank each other in such a way because you can’t put a number value on humanity. That being said I love that they’re all talking each other up :)
That's the thing, they're not ranking them by humanity but by attractiveness. Attractiveness doesn't correlate with humanity and people that don't realize this are the majority of the ones that have issues with ranking physical attractiveness.
Exactly what I was thinking, surprised that wasn’t the outcome. Like yea Roy looks a little feminine buts he’s pretty tall so i have no idea why they infantilized him…
@@mrcleeves7106 Roy also looks very young, like actually young as if he recently turned 19 or 18. And guys that age all look that way, I mean he almost is a teenager duh (the akne could also just be because he is very young). I think his face looks so young because it's actually young and not because he has childish features. So considering that and his height he looks pretty good for his age. He also has the most potential in my opinion, he is tall and has actually pretty nice features that will probably become more masculine in the future and he has a nice smile. And if he is just as old as the others I feel like his face is not fully developed, I don't think that his face will stay that way. So comparing him to grown men seemed pretty unfair. Sam is the most feminine looking to me tbh and he just looks so bland.
Roy was the best looking guy there and Sam was the least wtf!!............I was so shocked by the results. I think another random group of women would have easily made a totally different ranking. Also I really disliked the personalities of those girls as a group
i do think that outfits/personal style is important even if it’s something that can change. if the person’s style or vibe is cool it automatically makes them more attractive to me - i tend to gravitate towards people who are into fashion because i am into that
I don't get why people are commenting less and less in UA-cam, 9 month later you correct, but that is subjective and tend to change through the years, economy, and culture, there is no objective way to say one outfit is better than the other.
Y’all are way too brave with your little opinions from behind a UA-cam account. Bunch of grown men acting like middle school bullies online. What, just because someone is not attractive TO YOU they are inhuman? A sane person would just overlook them without turning it into a fake woke discourse about “tOdAy’s sOcIeTy”. Y’all must be projecting some really tough insecurities if you look at a confident person & start brainstorming reasons why that confidence is undeserved. It’s pitiful
Never trust Jubilee for anything it's just fake feelings and pandering. Tho the crazy thing is that I'd go for Roy before anyone because of his height, hairline, and like you said, his youthful features. Youthful features mean they look pretty happy and young as they get old and I guess that's something I like.
She's beautiful but I don't get the obsession with her. She looks like a typical pretty girl, but I got kind of weird taste anyway, I tend to go for the unconventional beauty types 😊
Her bone structure it's pretty rare, it's not only sharp like other pretty white girls, she also has one of the best forward growths I have ever seen giving her a longer term chiseled look, also her eye shape it's her best feature, her eyes are better than Megan's, but without her lip fillers she loses a lot of her appealing, yes she is still using fillers, she lied about it.
I'll never understand the concept of "pretty eyes" being based simply off of color...even when I was a kid I realized pretty eyes, as far as I could see was shape, size, lids, lashes, brows how they sat on the face with other features ect..it's like the freaky looking guy with the light brownish green eyes...his eyes are creepy and dead looking...but people keep saying they are pretty...but many don't...b/c it's just the color...also, not surprised by the 1 picked for last lol, he's tough enough right
''I don't like anybody's outfits today'' says the girl that be looking like a tide pod. Why can't they just rank without outfit or character biases geez they had one job.
As a woman attracted to men, I completely agreed with the way the men placed themselves. If you look purely at looks (and don’t have a huge issue with height, I know that’s a thing for some reason) maybe 1 and 2 could flip flop but they seemed to be pretty accurate. So happy they did not move Sam higher 🙏🏽
17:47 You dudes say clothes don't matter, but they suddenly do matter when a woman is showing a lot of skin with her outfit, it suddenly much more attractive to you. Clothes do matter, sir, you refuse to believe it, but you subconsciously make a decision based on the overall appearance, and you know what, clothes are one of the first thing you see, just like the face and a body proportion. So yeah, guys outfits were bland and average, which was not a plus to the first impressions of them.
Attractiveness to most women isn't just based on looks alone, it's also to do with the vibe the man gives off. Women have a strong intuition when it comes to men & you can call me sexist if you want but it's true!!!

They're trying to save his feelings but in the process just making it worse :(
I admit that it could be insulting, but I've literally met guys who were cute just because they made me want to pick them up and hold them.
IMO Roy is someone who will age well, and by the time he's in his 30s, could be quite handsome. His face just needs some character.

@@vampirefae7458 It's because they are rare. Same for green eyes. No white privilege stuff. Brown eyes are the most common, regardless the race
Dude just spoke straight facts, I agree!
They sacrificed Jeremy I would be pissed after all the girls gave him 1 and 2 in their personal rating yet lost to the pity vote.

@@SY-ok2dq I suppose so
@@Kille483 I think the short sleeve tee over a long sleeve tee, and layering clothing, is a trend from areas like Seattle and the Northwest, where weather can change quickly.
I'm sad for the short guy, he is really handsome and muscular, only bad thing is that he's short, and the other guys can always get more bulky,.
However it doesn't really account for actual attractiveness of these men
I was just about to ask, "Are you in high school?" But then noticed you mentioned you are young.

Same I was so confused bc I thought Sam was so bland looking. Jorge was def the one that was most attractive, for me
It's subjective after all. I personally find him the most handsome, followed by Jeremy.
Anthony has everything solid, except height. I think 1. Jorge, 2. Sam, 3. Anthony would be the fairest ranking all things considered.
@@TheUnique69able Lol the fat one was the worse one, but high insane standards. Its always the ugly insecure nobodys with high standards...lol
Bone face structure also
I've also heard the comparison between male height and female weight, but more on the lines of body shape, which is obviously linked to weight too.

Dress sense is extremely relevant to attractiveness. Yes, they could dress up in whatever you put them in but they point is how they choose to dress themselves. It goes hand in hand with grooming and hygiene.
I'm not sure if you already made a video like this, but a standalone video about how facial aesthetics correlate with personality would be interesting
@Baby Barbie No, I mean a video discussing whether or not facially attractive people tend to ACTUALLY have more desirable personality traits

And then the way they were negotiated who goes where, they were so respectful and civil about it. When the women walked in...well...that's a different story
If you're really an existing woman, thank you for your existence. Being a man, especially today with the current standards, is an hell.

I agree. They were all handsome and above average to me! In what world are they "average" or "slightly below average"? I'm moving there!
It's hard to rate people objectively if you're standing in front of them. You don't want to offend anyone and yet you have to. The way you present yourself is a big influence on how attractive you are. If your casual way of dressing looks good on you and presents you in a nice way, it means that you have a certain style, you know what works for your body and shows that you care. It isn't just "you can put any clothes on this man and he will be less/more atractive".

It's because they have money.

@@jayo6122 who are "us girls"? I just told you what I prefer, that's all. My boyfriend resembles him the most 🤷
I hate when people basically “baby” adults because they’re shy, it’s so gross!
It was like by default someone had to be #5 and #4, so they changed it
Size queen 😝
Wait... did the women just rank the guys from lightest to darkest?
Pretty much. They essentially state that the black guy is interchangeable with the tan Asian guy in terms of desirability. That is dead last.
IKR??? I was like 😬😬
I feel so bad whenever I watch these. It feels unethical to make people rank each other in such a way because you can’t put a number value on humanity. That being said I love that they’re all talking each other up :)
it's unethical because it makes you feel bad?
these people agreed to be ranked so they're fine with it
@@DK-tl3fz Did you stop reading after "because"?
That's the thing, they're not ranking them by humanity but by attractiveness. Attractiveness doesn't correlate with humanity and people that don't realize this are the majority of the ones that have issues with ranking physical attractiveness.
I think Roy is the best looking one out of all, unpopular opinion
My personal ranking would have been (bisexual women) :
1- Jorge
2 - Roy
3 - Jeremy
4 - Anthony
5 - Sam
I agree
Yup you’re a feminist too
I really want to See how you would analyze the too hot to handle cast
Good one, or Love Island cast.
People on that show have nice bodies but face wise are pretty average
wow , it's unbelievable roy got ranked worst , in my opinion , his one of the most attractive
No. 1 to me, I'd date someone who looked like him if his personality was nice, I like introverts though if don't have some cringy superiority complex
Roy was the best looking guy there and Sam was the least wtf!!............I was so shocked by the results. I think another random group of women would have easily made a totally different ranking. Also I really disliked the personalities of those girls as a group
i do think that outfits/personal style is important even if it’s something that can change. if the person’s style or vibe is cool it automatically makes them more attractive to me - i tend to gravitate towards people who are into fashion because i am into that
I don't get why people are commenting less and less in UA-cam, 9 month later you correct, but that is subjective and tend to change through the years, economy, and culture, there is no objective way to say one outfit is better than the other.
no but seriously, some these girls got so much confidence while looking like that... damn who fake hyped y'all up?!
Being mean makes them unattractive.
@@translatorwannabe7099 exactly!
desperate men.....there is a fat girl in the group...in a fair world she'd be lucky to get any of these guys. That's the kinda world we live in.
@@youtubesucks2755 I heavily agree, it's just the way it is...
Could you do a facial analysis on Madison Beer?
I find her basic looking as fuck. Like every other hot Instagram chick. Nothing distinct.
She's beautiful but I don't get the obsession with her. She looks like a typical pretty girl, but I got kind of weird taste anyway, I tend to go for the unconventional beauty types 😊
@Anthony TC sue thing dude. Irl you wouldn't even be able to look her in the eyes, but yeah totally basic loool
@@An-kw3ec Who is Megan-
I'll never understand the concept of "pretty eyes" being based simply off of color...even when I was a kid I realized pretty eyes, as far as I could see was shape, size, lids, lashes, brows how they sat on the face with other features ect..it's like the freaky looking guy with the light brownish green eyes...his eyes are creepy and dead looking...but people keep saying they are pretty...but many don't...b/c it's just the color...also, not surprised by the 1 picked for last lol, he's tough enough right
''I don't like anybody's outfits today'' says the girl that be looking like a tide pod. Why can't they just rank without outfit or character biases geez they had one job.
I actually thought all these guys were above average
As a woman attracted to men, I completely agreed with the way the men placed themselves. If you look purely at looks (and don’t have a huge issue with height, I know that’s a thing for some reason) maybe 1 and 2 could flip flop but they seemed to be pretty accurate. So happy they did not move Sam higher 🙏🏽
I feel like Roy shouldn't be last, he's plenty attractive, just lacks confidence
Sam was by far the best pick. If you were in a lineup I'd choose you last based on your pic. Ugly
💯
I like this video, you should def do more like these. I enjoy hearing your casual opinion
Attractiveness to most women isn't just based on looks alone, it's also to do with the vibe the man gives off. Women have a strong intuition when it comes to men & you can call me sexist if you want but it's true!!!
Yep, that's true! Whatever the guy or any person looks like, if we vibe, I will like them instantly.
@@uagurasama4567 it's about looks & personality. Being the most handsome man in the room is great, but if his personality is that of a wet blanket with no confidence or sense of humour, then sorry but he's no longer attractive.
Also, there's a difference between finding someone good looking, and finding them attractive. You can acknowledge someones good looking without be attracted to them.
@@tiana4102 Jeremy Meeks pretty much proves all that wrong.
@@Tigo625 being a criminal doesn't mean you have a bad personality
@@tiana4102 Yes, because the women who praised his mugshot had complete access to his personality, come on.
It's the halo effect. Good looking people are assumed to be better in every single way (smarter, better people, more charismatic, etc)
