- Can you beat Bloodborne using only the charged R2 attacks of the Kirkhammer in hammer form? Including the unique follow up R2 you can perform after landing a fully charged attack. But also while staying at the lowest level you can be at in order to meet the stat requirements, which is BL11. And the result is that I went completely bonkers in this minimal stats challenge run

last year i tried zweihander full charged atk only run in ds3,
it didnt end well, now i realize it would have worked nice if ds3 had rally mechanic.
meanwhile in ds1 u can just curbstomp steamroll through the game with zweihanders heavy charged attacks.

54:20 It looks like Orphan might have briefly entered a falling animation after his hitbox passed the rock below him, possibly cancelling his current attack and allowing him to immediately cycle into a new attack.
That's actually a pretty good explanation. I mean it's still BS that shouldn't have happened, but that might indeed be what happened

Was thinking this exactly, you see him start the triple stomp, then the arms go up for the falling animation, slight model adjust pause and afterwards he starts the new attack
I guess crushing damage is meant to be hunter and human enemies only since it has the flatting but still shame how a whole damage type is way worse then any other ones
Although in the end I never felt like my damage output was too low. So it's worse on paper than in practice. But yeah it's kinda weird how blunt damage was treated in this game.
@@PressContinue I'm not sure if it's true but I remember hearing that blunt damage increases rally a long time ago. I can't find anything about it online but if it does that would make sense to sacrifice damage output for increased healing.
@@zacharyzurawski5516 I don't know if this applies to all blunt weapons, but at the very least the kirkhammer and hunter's axe have really high rally potential. So yes there might be a connection there
@@PressContinue I used the Wheel a lot and it doesn't seem to have a ton of rally potential, at least in its tricked form. I usually ran it Arc or Vit gouge with flat Arc gems so I didn't use the untricked form a whole lot, maybe it rallied better since more of the damage was blunt instead of arcane.

The follow up on the Kirkhammer's heavy attack may be the most satisfying attack to land in the whole game. There's nothing better than sending a large beast flying away from you, dealing massive damage in the process.
That Gehrman trick would have real useful to know about for my Fist of Gratia only run... I had to completely re-learn the boss for that run.
53:54 What I think happened was Orphan stumbled on some rocks. More specifically, Orphan initiated a forward pounding attack, but moved to a position where he couldn't reach the ground and entered for a split second a falling animation, after which he began a side swiping attack.
It seems that I will be dragged into doing most of your challenge runs, and that is the way I am going to appreciate all the hard work you put in making these videos.

I know this is old and someone already would have said it, but orphan cancelled the attack because the lunge forward made contact with the rocks which provided orphan with height, when he landed the landing animation cancelled the lunge which allowed him to immediately choose another attack
PC, you are one of the best challenge runners on this platform. Your humor is something that seperates you from the rest. I check your channel whenever i feel down or i can’t sleep. I hope you get the recognition you deserve man, your channel deserves way more subs tbh. Thank you for your effort!

i love the axe for two reasons spin to win knocks almost everything away and you can spin them to death and the second is that it has the highest rally potential meaning the spin becomes an easy way to regain health

I basically just did this but with the hunters axe because I realized early on I can cheese most enemies with it’s charged 2nd form attack

What an amazing and painful concept
This is what happens when a project zomboid character maxes out "long blunt"
Ny first playthrough was basically this right here, although I started with the threaded cane. I love the kirk hammer, my 2nd fav weapon!
However I've become a saw cleaver main. It just feels great to use.
I think the reason blunt damage isn't really super effective on a lot of things in Bloodborne is most likely due to everything being relatively human/animal or an eldritch monster. Blunt damage in rpgs is almost solely strong against things like skeletons and crystal monsters who can break and shatter and it prevent them from existing
But that's the thing. Paarl and the One Reborn should be weak to blunt but are actually resistant to it. And one of the only bosses in the entire game who is weak to blunt, are the squishy looking merciless watchers

Kirkhammer R2 is kinda how I played anyways ngl. Was not told till later that the Greatsword was just objectively better. I just thought it was cool, slowing me down to the same kind of speed as the bosses and predicting the opponents incoming movements to hit them with the charged R2. Had to practice in Chalice Dungeons a lot but I actually really liked playing through them.

Most placenta don't have a shiny reflective surface akin to polished metal, or make a clanging metallic noise when slammed into stone. So people thinking it has metal or is partially metal is pretty logical given if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and violately and loudly shits like a duck, then it's likely a duck even if it still might be a goose
In my hammer run, i only leveled strength. I called it the unga bunga build
I'm not sure who decided that the hunter's axe should do blunt damage... when pole axes like that were literally using for beheadings irl for millenia.... Because they're very sharp...
