As one of the tens of people who has done Bloodborne’s janky pvp extensively, the L2 attack on the bloodletter only inflicts frenzy buildup on the user, not on other hunters; player or no. Still, if you’re insane enough to do Bloodborne pvp, it’s a good attack when you want to trade hits since it grants very nice hyper armor and has around the same damage as a fully charged R2 for while being faster. Still kinda slow, but it can catch people of guard
Ah I actually thought it also caused frenzy upon other players. That's a shame then that there is literally no way for the player to inflict the frenzy effect upon something else.
I loved bloodborne pvp the threaded cane was so fun and had such weird reach made people angry

incorrect, the bloodletter L2 definitely inflicts frenzy on other players, i've gotten a few kills in pvp where i'd hit them with the L2 and they would die a few seconds later due to the frenzy without me hitting them or doing anything

For the One Reborn fight, I noticed the blood effect for the hit was appearing on one of the tiny legs, so the game might have considered you hitting that instead of the big leg. At 25:09 is probably the easiest to notice.

If it registers them as different hit boxes shouldn't he have been getting multiple hits with the aoe? That leg is the largest, are we sure those specific rear legs can be broken and not just the smaller legs?

Great run. Re: "Blood is the best damage type because no boss resists it", that honor actually goes to Thrust. It's true that Blood is never the highest physical defense (except Maria?), but in the 3 cases a boss has uneven defenses (all of which are Kin), Thrust defense is by far the lowest. In fact, the Celestial Emissary boss has a Thrust defense of only 26, which is lower than the Doll's defenses (40).
Additionally, there's Thrust weapons for both serration damage (Saw Spear) and righteous damage (e.g. Ludwig's Blade.) 8 of the bosses are weak to serration and the 20% damage bonus applies to weapon buffs (e.g. Fire Paper) too. Also, Loran Silverbeasts (the annoying electric beast men) and Wandering Nightmares (the "crystal lizards") do have less Blood Defense but their physical resistances are so high across the board that doesn't really help much.
It's interesting that Lady Maria took less damage because she's listed as having lower Blood Defense than Living Failures. I wonder if she has some hard-coded %-based blood damage reduction somewhere in her AI script.
Worst physical type is arguably Blunt, as it only helps against Executioners, spiders, fishmen, and maneater boars (but you're better off using a saw against those imo). On the flip side most kin are super resistant to it. Of course there's other reasons one might choose those weapons (more Rally, better poise/impact damage), most enemies have even defenses across the board and every Blunt weapon I can think of has a secondary damage type so it's not as cut and dry as "Blunt bad." And most Thrust attacks are kind of slow so it's not as cut and dry as "Thrust best" either.
Ah you may be right. Didn't realize that there are essentially no thrust resistant bosses in this game. Unfortunately there are also no good thrust specific weapons in this game other than the church pick. Of course r2 attacks of certain weapons do thrust damage as well, as well as viscerals.

Im pretty sure the cane gets righteous damage umtricked and serrated in tricked, which means you get thrust damage with both modifiers (even in trick mode, as a forward dash attack I think)
I like the idea that you're being bullied into increasingly ridiculous challenge runs via music based blackmail, basically. Like, 'Oh they made a song for it, I have to now, I can't let that go to waste.'
Lady Maria's attacks in her third phase are remarkably similar to Mogh's spells with the whole burning blood thing.
Which would be an interesting challenge run.
Would have been cool if the rakuyo had blood and fire attacks like Maria can do

Press, I have a story you might find amusing. So when an edited video like this comes out, I'll usually watch it all the way through, but then I'll replay them over and over when I just want some background noise. So I made a playlist of my favorite videos of yours and set it to play randomly while I sleep, as sometimes the noise helps me sleep. Sometimes it is distracting, but sometimes having something to focus on other than my thoughts is helpful. Anyway, all is well until the Bloodborne, blood damage only run is wrapping up with a sick montage and an electric guitar rendition of Bloody Tears. Which is awesome except, the song was WAY WAY LOUDER THAN ANYTHING ELSE and with violence and extreme prejudice it rips me from my slumber. In my sleep delirium I don't even know whats happening. I don't know that it's MY phone, I think it is someone elses phone that ended up on my bed by mistake. I think it is an alarm going off and I don't know how to turn it off, so I just press the speaker to my shoulder, desperately trying to muffle the noise and hopefully not wake up my roommate, whose room is next to mine. Only after did I realize the truth.
So that video no longer lives in the playlist, but every other video has been used to great success!

@@PressContinue I can confirm that the outro is much louder when listening through iPhone 12. When mastering audio it’s important to listen through as many of the devices that will be used to play the finished product so you can find a sweet spot where it sounds good on all of them. The speakers in phones, televisions and headphones will all be very different and may pick up unwanted frequencies or leave key pieces of sound too quiet. By testing on all of them in the mastering stage you can continue to adjust the levels till you find something that works all round. Hope this helps.

wouldn't it have been not just possible, but optimal to try and get more than 2 attacks off before you frenzy builds up fully? mainly because once frenzy is filled completely, it doesn't matter how many frenzy building attacks you did beforehand, so if you did 2, 5 or even 200 attacks before frenzy fills completely, it'd only fill once.

Ive been thinking for YEARS From should make like a Game Level and Character Level RESET. That way, in this case, you could get the Bloodletter, finish the game ASAP, and reset the Character Level and Game Level. In this way it would be less complicated to make a Level 1 NG1 run with game ending weapons(like Gherman's scythe).
That would definitely be helpful
