- These are videos of Dave Lombardo doing a drum master class in Belfast, in April 2 2015, it was an amazing night he did discussions, playing drums and giving advice, I also got to meet the master himself after the show :) hope you enjoy :)

Its not that he can bring the band, youve just heard the songs a million times, if you heard angel of death on just guitar, you could hear the scream and double bass on drums in your head.

As a huge slayer fan it pains me to say this but I think their music didn't really allow Dave to showcase how good he is.

But that’s what makes Slayer great. His drumming makes them SLAYER.

This guy was the heart of Slayer's sound, and also the best overall drummer in metal to boot. Not a bad feat.
Standbackforscience agreed, Slayer just isn’t Slayer without Lombardo. No offense to Bostaph, but Lombardo just completes their sound. Too bad the way things went down. I’m hoping Suicidal plays again at the punk rock camping show next year. I’ll be there for sure. Seeing Lombardo play live is definitely bucket list for me.
I dont get why so many people see Dave Lombardo as the best metal or thrash metal drummer ever.

You know how iconic Lombardo is when you get excited when you hear him play that very simple rock beat. Like somehow he makes it sound like it’s his trademark beat

As big a fan as I am of Pantera, Vinnie doesn't match him
As an "older guy" trying to learn how to play some of the Lombardo/Benante speed style, I can clearly "feel" in the video when the tempo is pushed and where I would start to tense up/ play quieter in an effort to stay "at speed". Dave and Charlie are and look so relaxed and play at normal volume and are still musical; not just going full tilt in an endurance exercise. Quite inspiring! Can't imagine being this close to him and feeling the punch of those bass drums being played at that volume!
I enjoy watching Dave play his drums I've been listening to him since I was 13 years old. I am 38 now. I'm very fascinated on his speed coordination and his timing badass. To me he is the best drummer ever. Maybe one day I'll get to meet Dave. Thank you for sharing this video for a moment there I thought I was there hanging out with everyone.
I always find myself astonished at how good this guy is... For god's sake! To create all these timeless hits.. and to play them perfectly.

Because he hits hard and has been playing the same songs for 30 years.
Its not his drum set
Sound, efficient technique facilitates flow.
Similar to Dave Grohl, his tons comes from how he hits, you can recognize both of them on any kits
Did y'all also notice that he wasn't sitting like normally does? Dave's always sat with his ass below his knees, which is uncommon actually for most drummers. But this time looked like his knees were lower than normal.
Fuck! The way he just casually throws out the beginning of "Silent Scream" like he's walking the damn dog... what a god!

Lombardo is a Genius .
My Father seen Led Zeppelin live a couple of times with Bonham. After my Father has been around and listened to Slayer in his older years he says there is no comparison. Dave is just on another level.
