    I've got 20+ years in the auto industry and have always advised people to WAIT to purchase a new model release until 2nd year, as it gives manufacturers more time to discover any issues/quirks/problems and then remedy them.

      And I know this but as my wife reminded me I’ve done it twice. 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited had the panoramic roof sound like lawn chairs in a station wagon. Multiple attempts at repair failed. Finally put an entire replacement and a year later the noise returned!!! Should of lemon lawd it!!!!!

    • @AClark-gs5gl
      @AClark-gs5gl 3 роки тому +4

      For what it's worth, I recommend the 2nd model year of a new release for same reason mentioned in original post, but also because waiting until the 3rd model year or 4th when buying new, will leave you in a more negative equity situation, if the manufacturer releases an all new model every 4 years.
      Hope that makes sense...

    • @Prestiged_peck

    That "headliner" looks like it was put on by kids during arts and crafts week using Elmer's glue. The rattle might be an issue because of the pillar delete for the extra open air experience.
    Id take the pillar with speakers above my head like the Wrangler which I'm sure makes it more secure and less prone to rattling.

  • @Show-me-how-now
    @Show-me-how-now 3 роки тому +105

    It seems like the rattles coming from one of the camlock‘s. I would suggest to try driving around with one cam lock in the open position so the cam can’t rattle against the locking plate. Then close camlock and re-open another one until you find the one that’s rattling. Once you find the bad cam lock you need to remove the locking plate that attaches to the body and put a a small rubber gasket or felt tape between the body of the vehicle and locking plate.This should make the camlock fit slightly tighter fit and hopefully eliminate the rattle. I’ve used felt tape to fix rattles on my vehicles in the past.

      My dad had a jku and the freedom top leaked inside the jeep and inside the panel itself, you could hear the water sloshing around. I found the problem was that on the side of the panel where it was pressed together, it had no seal and it allowed water to come in through the crack and leak through the area that you put the screw in, a long bead of rtv on all sides of the panel and it never leaked again and never heard any more sloshing. Btw freedom top panels can hold a couple gallons of water...

If you lift it, you threw the best part of the “Pro” package. Most of my friends have switched to the Ranger Tremor and are leaving it stock. It outperforms the stock TRD pro off-road just on the basis of physics. They are both nice trucks.

      As for the creaking, that is also not surprising. There are what, 5 panels on the top? They all have to lock and unlock and there is going to be movement. Likely you could tighten the release levers and it would help. Or put some felt in-between the layers. But you shouldn't have to....

    Ive been listening, and laughing, at everyone online and some I know personally bragging "I have my Bronco reservation/ordered". Anyone with any sense knows you need to wait 2-3 yrs for a totally new, from the ground up vehicle because of the time it takes for all the issues to develop and recalls to fix those issues. Kind of like volunteering to take a vaccine the first year that it's developed that hasn't had years of trials to be sure it is safe 💉👍 TFL will be able to get theirs fixed quicker because of videos like this one. The rest of people that don't have a large vehicle review channel will surely have to live with it for a while, maybe as long as they own the vehicle. Not hating on the Bronco but really surprised how so many "car people" have immediately jumped on board with ordering a vehicle that will be new from the ground up.

      You do realize that Ford will have no problem selling these as fast as they can make them? It is definitely a problem that needs solved but this is what being an early adopter is about, you accept that some things are a work in progress and you may have to DIY solve some issues. Or just wait a few years instead of being the early adopter. Otherwise, if you buy something else the same applies, that if you get the latest and supposedly greatest new generation vehicle, it's going to have bugs to work out.

      ya these guys are kinda Jeep Wrangler fan boys and I guessed maybe on their (Jeeps) payroll giving "honest" criticism of the new Bronco. I could be wrong but I am skeptical. @@nursechase1 I just wanted to post my own personal experience. Going down a gravel road would annoy the hell out of me before the neoprene. It was also a fastener on one of the swivel latches that got loose. I took it apart, tightened the hex screw, loctite it, and put some neoprene between the surfaces. I can get over a cheap interior, but rattles and carpet falling off in a new car are unacceptable. If Ford would have said something like, “Our supplier screwed up, we are not satisfied with this, we will remedy it as soon as possible” they could have won a lot of favor back. But they didn’t, they stopped at blaming the supplier. And as Tommy rightly pointed out explaining why he just bought a Wrangler instead, it’s a Ford Bronco, not a Top Supplier Bronco.
