Thanks for the review! Re export of HR data - I'm able to get workout data from Huawei to Strava (you need to enable a special toggle in strava's privacy section to get HR data there and not only location) and from Strava it's easy to get HR data to compare with a chest strap. Could be useful for your future reviews :-)
Thank you for video! Is it possible to create your own routes on the maps with point of interests and download it to the watch? Can i download to the watch pre downloaded maps and routes when the smartphone is offline?
Thanks for the awesome review! I have a few questions for you: 1. Are you planning to review the non-pro model soon and compare it with the pro version? 2. Can you check how Huawei Health works with Strava? I've found that non-GPS activities like treadmill runs don't sync (unlike Garmin). 3. I noticed some metrics, like running ability, might not be as accurate as Garmin's. Does Huawei use past personal running data for calculations, or it's just a comparison with generic data? 4. How accurate is the VO2Max estimation? Did you find a big difference between this model and mid-range ones? Thanks again for your thorough review! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on these points.
Can you compare your VO2 score with gt5 pro vs your garmin? I saw 35, it's pretty low as you are an athlete. I'm considering this over a forerunner 165, need only this last information. Tahnk you, greetings from Brazil!
Great video! 35 VO2max at your age as an athlete? There must be something wrong with you. I noticed a big drop as well after getting a shot in 2022, Many cyclists reported the same. I guess the people who track will have noticed, while others will never know.
I have the gt2 and it can last over 14 days if just used as a watch and about 10 days when I use it for weight training 1 hour 4 times a week my newer samsung doesn't do that can this watch be used to pay in stores?
I bought GT5PRO and TRex3. Trex is still on my wrist. Why? Better battery, I had some problems with iPhone connection with Huawei and TRex has better strength workout profile where I can check when my sets go and stop or know manny reps I have. It’s missing in GT5PRO. And I like bigger watches too:)
How was your experience with gt5 pro? Is it a good watch like Trex 3, or Trex 3 is a better watch? Im asking cause I use Android so I wont have this problem with gt5
I have both GT5 Pro and T-Rex 3 too, along with Suunto Race S and Fenix 7 Pro. My favorite is the Huawei GT5 Pro, because it's more of an all rounder. But if I want more detailed summary from the data collected, my Garmin Fenix 7 Pro gives me better data. More details such as Body Battery, and also in depth sleep scores. Huawei and Amazfit gives a more generalized number. Th3 Sapphire crystal on GT5 Pro and Fenix 7 Pro is just awesome. Zero scratches til today. Every other watches all look beat up after just a few months of usage. By the way I'm on Android.
Great review in general, but I can't agree with the HR accuracy analysis - I have a Huawei watch and it might get the average HR most of the times, but its because its super laggy and HR stays around in the middle. Also the max HR is most of the time not even in the same place, buts mostly random. Also 20bpm are missing all the time as you can see in the shared graphs. Its okish HR monitor, but miles behind Apple unfortunately.
@@user-ij8no5zw6u-I have the GT3 and compared it to Garmin (Fenix 7 Pro and Instinct 2X) and the HR is spot on. Same data on both. Barely a beat difference.
@@MrSeedi76 That's because Garmin is not better :) I've had many of them as well. Huawei is hair bit batter than Garmin v4 sensor and a hair worse than v5.
Although a nice watch be aware its deceiving and the actual watch face is a lot smaller than the GT3 pro so actual watch face is only about 40mm where gt3 is actually 46mm makes a big difference
Great review thanks. I'm looking at this as a replacement for my fenix 6x pro. I have the following questions. 1. Am i able to customise interval runs? 2. What's the app ui like? Is it informative and how does it compare to Garmin? 3. Does it sync with say strava? 4. Are there any benefits if i use a huawei phone or tablet?
Hello, these watches are not comparable to garmin watches, especially to fenix series like 7,7 pro or 8...garmin is on advanced level. Even forerunner 965. But also they are more expensive of course.
1. Yes 2. It kinda looks like it has a lot of data but much of it is useless IMO. For example, I have a running ability index of 48. Great. No idea what that means. But its entirely based on run speed. So if you're doing zone 2 runs or any easy runs, your 'score' goes down. I ran a 22 minute 5k a few days ago and the app tells me today that my predicted 5k race time is 27 minutes because I've been doing slower runs in marathon training. It gives you lots of numbers but can't tell me my PB times for any distance. 3. It does Sync with Strava. My only complaint there is that it renamed every activity to 'Huawei health activity' instead of just 'Morning Run'. 4. I don't think there's any benefit to having it paired with a Huawei phone. Overall, I love the look (I got the GT5 Titanium), I like the tracking during a workout but viewing data outside of a workout is really pretty useless. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew I couldn't see PB times
Thanks a lot for the very nice review. I have seen another interesting review here : ua-cam.com/video/Hc0d1REpFbw/v-deo.html . Go to minute 18 where it speaks about the maps. It seems, even the PRO version does not have trails in the maps. There are contour lines, but nothing more which seems pretty dissapointing. Accuracy in forest is not as good as others as you point.
Its great except the watch and the app both cant tell me my PB times for various distances. Useless product for runners. I wouldnt have bought it if i knew.
@@user-fx5sw4jy7hYz9Hzi they can watch my personalized exercise and sleep data all day long I do not care one bit. I do not give permission to access anything else for the app/watch, no notification. Same goes for garmin.
Thank you for the excellent work done! Greetings from Russia.
Nice! Now compare these to T-Rex 3 in terms of accuracy.
Thanks for the review!

hey, thanks for this comment, i was looking for this,
1 question, Can you connect the Huawei watch to myfitnespal?
Just got this on sale with a bonus fit 3 as a free gift. I bought this to replace my current fit 3 nylon strap. So now I've ended up with 3 watches 😂
This is an excellent video! I'm wondering if GT5 has introduced any running forms.
Very good review! thank you
No training analytics on this watch. Thank you for your work.
Yep, it can't even tell me my PB time for different distances I've run. Useless for athletes
I am very pleased with the analytics, very impressive actually!
@@robwhitmore3040 i think you wrong bro it’s have this feature you can check it again I got my expect pb for 5k 10k half marathon and marathon
good review, can i ask? do you prefer this gt 5 pro or suunto race s? i hope you will answered this comment. thank you 🙏

is it good for gym?
How to use outdoor maps without phone, is it possible ?
I'm very curious, can you use a gt2 pro battery pack on a gt2 sport and make it wireless charging

I did a trail run in dense tropical jungle hill with up to 400 elevation. It records 7. 4km instead the real 10.6km
I have a Huawei Fit 3 it's good. Please share the Huawei GT5 Pro when not using it
i do workout with 400kcal burn calories. but on the move calories ring only capture 355kcal. why?

There is no way you want to buy Chinese company's watch with all that information going to Chinese mainland. I dont care how good the watch is.
