I've always dreamt of flying. I've been a Gate Supervisor at a major international airline for the past two years in Sydney and I kinda lost that desire to become a flight attendant, I'm too comfortable on the ground haha but this series has sparked that dream again. Hope to catch you in the sky soon!

Hello!! I’m so glad that you found these videos helpful 😁 I’m not too sure what subject to take - but just take whatever you enjoy! The most important thing will be getting work experience, so perhaps get a casual job during (or after) schooling go help with that!

what if you have tattoos on your fingers?
@@alannapow2267 Great question! Depense on the airline - some airlines allow tattoos as long as you cover them. For a tattoo on your finger you could wear a band-aide or ring to cover it perhaps.. :)

I have a bit bad posture and I wear posture collector (can be wear over t-shirt) to keep me straight. I wonder if posture problem can be disqualification for being a cabin crew. Have you met anyone at your work who wear it? I live in NZ but moving to Brisbane in few months and would like to try my luck and apply for work with VA. Also English is my second language so that will be extra stressful ;) Thanks

Hello! Thanks to your video, I passed the assessment day in Melbourne. It really helped !! I have finished the physical assessment at designated physio and the physio therapist gave me a pass and sent the result on the spot. It was back in 2nd of April. But I haven't heard anything from VA.. have I passed ?? Do I just wait or even if I made the physical, it's not done yet? I am getting anxious 😟

Thank you for these videos, such a great help. I have an assessment day with one of the regional Australian airlines in a couple of weeks which I'm so excited about. I declared that I have a small, non offensive tattoo, high up on my inner forearm that I can cover with either professional, waterproof makeup or a long sleeve.
From your experience, how lenient is the airline you work for in regards to tattoos? Do they let crew cover them with makeup or long sleeve? Cheers 😁
As long as you can cover it with clothing it’s usually fine 😊! Good luck at your assessment day!!

Awww I am awaiting a response on the assessment day. I just watched your vid and mention not to put in referees without them knowing. I have done that and oh boy I guess I should now know the outcome?🙃

Aww thank you for ya comment 🥰 going to tell them tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not too late. The call back is expected this Wednesday. Are ref checks done after offer or is that usually dependant on airline?

Hey Bri! I was wondering what happens with reference checks / if you get a full background check done? Do they only contact the references you put down? Would love to know just as I’m technically still hired at an old job of mine but I don’t get shifted anymore so bit nervous about Jetstar recruitment contacting them personally. Hey Crystal, I know how upsetting it must be to not hear anything back. The best thing you can do is try to gain relevant work experience and to never give up! xx
@@BrieanaYoung Hey Bri, I had face-to-face interviews with Virgin & Qantas (network aviation) They both went really well but unfortunately I didn't make it through ground school with Virgin. I still haven't heard anything from Qantas (it's been 3 weeks) they said they'd let us know within 24 hours after our interview & that ground school is in January. I'm very stressed, I feel like if they wanted me they would have contacted me by now. Have I not made it through? My online application says it's in progressed but does Qantas take a while to reply?

I am only 14 years old but I am really interested in being a flight attendant as soon as possible when I leave high school. I just wanted to know what I should do during my high school time to be more prepared of being a FA. For example what certificates I should get or what things I have to learn? Basically I want to know how to get prepared for this career.
I live in Australia, gold coast as well, so if you have any places to recommend or tafe courses that will help me in getting there it would be great :):):):)
By the way how old were you when you started being a FA?
And besides training and learning what life requirements do you think I would need ? Like house, job and things like that?
Hey girl - you'll need your first aid and CPR certifications. As well as an RSA. There's no other education but they want you to have customer service experience! So I'd recommend gaining experience working in either retail or hospitality xx

Just applied with VA. I’m 48 so that may go against me. Did apply to many airlines in my 20’s but then put dream on hold to raise a family. Been a travel agent for 10 years in that time. I hope they give me a chance ❤️✈️
If anything age will help you :) you will have much more life experience then most of us! Good luck with the process!

Hey 👋 is it possible that when you apply for a domestic role and you want to apply for the international role is that possible to somehow transfer?
It depends on the airline that you pick. For example, your country will have multiple airlines who operate only domestic and then there will be some who operate international only. You can always change your airline later on if you want to otherwise domestic might work for a lot of people !
Hey Jay! As Teddy mentioned it is dependant on the airline! Short answer is: Yes you can transfer... but it's a bit complicated to explain over comment! My next video I am doing a FA Q&A and ill be answering this question in more in depth! So don't miss that one! :)

Depends what you want out of an airline, where you want to travel so, what conditions you want, what uniform you want. It's totally a personal preference! I would recommend researching each airline!

hey just check the job description and it might state a specific one. when i applied i required to get the "provide first aid" one. Google is your best friend when it comes to RSA!

Usually you can do a CPR / first aid course! Usually take 1 day! :)

Do Virgin Australia have Neurodiverse Inclusive Policy, in application they ask if you have a disability, but what if someone doesn’t consider being Autistic a disability?
I can't speak on behalf of the company but my personal view is that they are very inclusive, :)
What is a swimming test? Do I need a certificate from a local pool? Do they allow you to wear a life jacket in the wet pool assessment??
Yeah you usually need to tread water and swim 50-100 meters all done at the local pool. It is dependent on the airline, but i got to wear a life jacket!

Should be fine as long as you can pass the swimming test!
Hi Brieana, after my assessment day i received a phone call that i got the job and i was asked to forward my first aid,rsa and swim test. However, there’s no official email that they are congratulating me that I passed the final interview or whatsover😬 its like I am in a limbo if this is legit or fake. I already invested a lot of time and spend money as well. Any thoughts or advice??? Hope you see this. Xx

Hey Ahad, it’s hard to give an exact number as it depends on how many flights you do, how many layovers you have & how many hours you work. If you wanted to look at glassdoor.com.au for more information they are a really great resource to help answer your question! :)

Hey Awungua! Thanks for your comment, it is wonderful that you want to be a flight attendant one day :) Majority of airlines around the world only hire Citizens to be part of their airline. One of the reasons is you get access to secure parts of the airport as a flight attendant & in AUS you need to be able to get a Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) approved, being a citizen helps with this application. Don't let this diminish your dream though! Would becoming a citizen be a goal of yours in the future?
