Hey everyone I hope you enjoy this video! P.s. apologies for the spelling mistakes, I was editing on a really small laptop screen and I also suck at typing 😬😅 xx
Hi Bri, thank you so much for your information, it helps my curiosity and I also have question, as I am invited for Qantas assessment and as I have short bob hair, is it ok to leave it as it is or it has to tighten up the hair? Appreciate for your time 🙏
That’s awesome to hear about the dominant personalities. The best workers are usually the humble, chilled personalities who just get the job done with no fuss. In my experience the dominant personalities b*tch the most and complain about how everyone else is lazy but them. They are usually the ones to quit or sue the company for bullying first.
I have an assessment day coming up with JQ and waiting to see VA advertise for BNE. Have watched this video ages ago but came back to it tonight to refresh. Love your vlogs. Hope you are enjoying Europe! ❤
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. It's incredibly helpful for me as I'll be attending an assessment day in a couple of weeks. I really appreciated how you covered what to expect from the moment you arrive until the one-on-one interview. I'm feeling quite nervous, but your insights have made it somewhat easier to understand what's expected of me and what I can do to prepare.
Hey brie! Firstly I loOovee your blogs. Most of the things have stayed the same. I'm currently awaiting training dates and I cannot wait. I still have my "boarding pass". Thank you so much for these insightful videos.
Hi Brieana. I enjoyed this video and just gave it a thumbs up. These tips are essential when it comes to job application. It's a great advice to succeed in preparation prior to either job application or job interview. I wish good luck to all applicants. Thanks Brie. Take care.
Dear Brianna, I’ve applied and have made it to the Assessment Day stage, waiting for a date, but so happy:) I’d like to thank you for these awesome videos, I’ve been studying with them for the past month and you’ve been brilliant. I’ll be rewatching everything again of coarse, alongside other material, but your videos have helped the most. Thank you:)
Thank you very much. I just finished my ramp and freight ground crew assessment, and it pretty much went like you explained it at Qantas. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to talk to other people, get comfortable, and score brawny points. The group activity was also the same; they asked us to rank a list of items from most to least important within a time limit, and at the end they told us they really didn't care about what items we chose or if we survived or not, but they were looking at how we interacted and worked together in a team-based environment, just like you said. They also made us go throw a small 4 page safety booklet and to answer basic answers that is found in reading material and basic math baggage adding. At 1 on 1, at the end of the day, there was a "tell me about yourself," a "why do you want to work for Qantas," and then 4 competency questions that needed the STAR system to be answered: describe the situation, task, action, and resolution. Tomorrow I go in for my Jetstar Cabin Baggage Officer and Customer Service Officer Assessment, and today's assessment really helped me out a lot, even though I made the mistake of focusing sometimes on solving the task correctly instead of taking all the ideas everyone gave and giving good feedback or designating a timekeeper to make sure we were on task and that we never had to rush to finish. I also have my flight attendant assessment next week for domestic and next month for international. Feel free to ask any questions. 1 big tip when they ask if you have any questions " that in itself is a question" and you need to be able to ask questions throughout the group activities if they provide a time for questions and at the 1 on 1 interview at end when they ask after competency questions.
@@jacqui521 Hey smashed 2 assessment and its pretty fun. think of it like going to work and trying to get on well with team mates and being positive instead of focusing on result. Especially in group activity take in all ideas on board, giving good feedback and encouragement on what great ideas they are and how we can add them to group activity. Questions started with why this role, why this company to then questions on how you handled a customers unreasonable request. How did you work in a team based environment. How did you manage a chaotic and stressful work environment etc. they mainly ask questions to do with role so if customer service then customer service based competency if ground/ramp your mostly dealing with other crew workers so questions primary to do with working together, one team, communications etc. Thank you and best of luck, ask me anything you want, pretty much practice writing down little stories of experience you had in different situations using the STAR method and try to remember them to go over them when asked and feel free to explain and feel natural doing it not as if your just reading text from paper.
@@BrieanaYoung Hey Brieana Thank you very much, your video have been very helpful and insightful, I believe I smashed through the first 2 assessment with first one being in reference checking stage right now. Only thing I am worried about is 1 hand sideway plank they need you to do in physical which is coming up next if I pass reference checks. How was process and how easy was it, did you need to do xx amount of minutes or were you asked to do it, is it actually 1 hand blank or can you do 2 hand blank etc? can you elaborate on physical test?

Hi Brianna quick question if you can't provide 1 out 4 documents required but have applied for it. will I not get to the next stage of the job? P.S Great Video you talk at the right pace and tone!
Wow! Yes, we are assesed the moment we step inside of the building. The "flight deck" was interesting. Sort of a detention room I guess? 😆 The key is be humble all the time and be a teamplayer. Thank you, Bri, for this video 🌸❤️
Do Australian flight attendants need to bid for flights like the USA flight attendants that have UA-cam channels or do you get told in advance where and when you are flying, and do you begin to get paid when the doors shut on the aeroplane and stop getting paid when the doors open again like in the USA?
Hey! Great questions, we get payed for all the hours we work, including before the flight/ after flights and even in sits. We also get extra money for our ‘flight hours’ so when the door closed to it opens. We get told in advance what flights we are doing unless we are on standby. (Which only happens a couple days a month usually) There is a bidding system that allows us to pick what days we want off, if we want to do 1,2,3,4 day trips & late or early starts! Hope that’s helps answer your questions 😊

Hey good question! previous to Covid people would have to apply for the domestic role first and then after a year of flying (and positions for international crew opened up) people could apply for international.
