Tetris the Absolute: The Grand Master 2 is the second arcade game in Arika's Tetris: The Grand Master series. The Grand Master 2 introduced the less-intimidating Normal Mode to attract more casual gamers, as well as an all-new grading system in Master Mode, the continuation of TGM's original gameplay.
Tetris the Absolute: The Grand Master 2 Plus is a free upgrade of TGM2, which added TGM+ Mode and the famous T.A. Death Mode that is played in this movie. This mode is notable for starting at maximum gravity (pieces drop from the top to the bottom in 1 frame) and increasing in speed from there; as the level increases, animations play faster and the delay before a piece locks in place becomes shorter.
Masterjun ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/M... ) completes the T.A. Death Mode in record time while using wall kicks to speed up horizontal piece movement, collecting all 6 Gold Medals, and also achieving the Secret Grand Master grade. The in-game time is 02:40.40. - Ігри

I genuinely see no difference between this TAS and any given _Tetris_ Grandmaster-level player.
That's a compliment to the _Tetris_ players, not a knock to this TAS, by the way. (;

The TAS is playing far more aggressively in the beginning, since the promotional exam requirements can be met very exactly.
The secret grade stacking the way the bot does it is not really humanly doable at that speed

My favorite part about this is that I have no clue how much of the speed is the TAS and how much is just the game mode. Like, this game mode gets absurdly fast. I have no clue how a human could be expected to do this. I have no clue, though, whether the TAS has somehow managed to push the speed even further. Absolutely incredible
From the very start, the TAS is playing a bit faster than a human would. But by 300 it's already playing faster than you'd ever need to reach even in a harder game like TGM3. By 500 it's going at least twice as fast as anybody I've ever seen gameplay from, speeds which I don't think any person could even reach. The sounds for the piece previews completely blur together. TGM is a ridiculously fast-paced and difficult series, but not even it is safe from the sheer power of being able to carefully record and play back perfect inputs.

I don’t remember him ever playing death this fast. If you watched the TGM series exhibition run from GDQ, you’d know apature_grills said him and Kevin suck at it.

@@johnelway76 I know, though it's good that this is posted in case others are confused. The impressive part is the in-depth understanding of the game and its mechanics needed to plan out and assemble this TAS, as well as the custom tools that were built to help optimize it. The submission notes on this one are great. I recognize Masterjun as the ACE guy, whose understanding of Assembly opened up new ground in game-breaking, but the wizardry in this case is his mastery of skills I hadn't expected as well.
