Tetris the Absolute: The Grand Master 2 is the second arcade game in Arika's Tetris: The Grand Master series. The Grand Master 2 introduced the less-intimidating Normal Mode to attract more casual gamers, as well as an all-new grading system in Master Mode, the continuation of TGM's original gameplay.
Tetris the Absolute: The Grand Master 2 Plus is a free upgrade of TGM2, which added TGM+ Mode and the famous T.A. Death Mode that is played in this movie. This mode is notable for starting at maximum gravity (pieces appear to always be in contact with the ground) and increasing in speed from there.
Steelix100 (tasvideos.org/...) completes the T.A. Death Mode in record time while using wall kicks to speed up horizontal piece movement, getting 5 Gold Medals, and also achieving the Secret Grand Master grade. The in-game time is 02:42.63.

Probably won't happen, since this "classic mode" is frowned upon by the owners of the Tetris franchise, and demand today's ruleset be used to obtain the license. This is why TGM3 had "World Rule", and TGM ACE (console version) only had World Rule and other nuances you see today.

This game has a different ruleset to get higher grades and progress through to the 999/999 ending.

It's possible; for swag, though, the programmer chose to get all the medals (although only one All Clear instead of three) and the "secret grade" as well. In addition, there's something called a "level stop" at x99 (and 998) where you cannot advance until you clear at least one line, so you waste time waiting for the long bar to make a tetris.
