I don't believe Matt was in the military at all. He never explicitly stated he was a veteran, just that he had "military experience" which can be interpreted in a myriad of different ways. An old former friend of mine was obsessed with the U.S. military and would frequently tell people that he had military experience, and that he was selected to be trained personally by U.S. marines. In reality though, he just attended a Brazilian Jiu Jitzu gym that had one former marine working as a personal trainer. That's it. He paid money to be tossed around by a veteran, and then told people he was "gaining military experience." I get serious vibes like that from Matt.
A couple golden moments: The chef who says “what do they know? That’s why they run burger joints” when he was being evaluated… on his burger. And the chef who says “Yeah, everybody is” after the other one is saying she’s extremely allergic to poison ivy😂

One of the worse character failures when trying to learn is not being able to take critical criticism. Its meant there to "mold" you. Another is being too sensitive.

So they didn’t post the Young Guns rewards and punishments but they did it for every other season.
