Scourge has upside down g2 Autobot badges because they were used on his original Takara release. Apparently they didn't wanna bother retooling the launching disks to remove the Auto-badge, so they flipped it around on the figure itself instead
I did love the upside down badge. It cemented them as a third faction (while still nominally Predacons) and reflected his origin as part Pred, part Optimus.
I don't know why but I feel like they did that to pose him as a new faction just to capitalize on rise of the beasts

Nah, I think that truck-moded iteration of Scourge imo looks alot cooler than his Sweep G1 iteration because of that weird goatee lol.

Something I noticed about scourge is that the way the clear pink plastic works results in that sinister pink glow from his eyes no matter what light level he's in-- i could place him in my dark room and the ambient light from the windows still causes him to glow unlike any other figure in my collection!
I find that yes it does light up a little all the time which is cool, though at the same time, I find it almost impossible to get his eyes to glow.

Hauler's clearly having some sort of existential crisis about the fact that he's based on split second background truck that was yellow, but is always cast in constructicon green.

Very entertaining. Blur is my second favorite out of that sub line. And an interesting fact, the original Ehobby hauler doesn’t have purple windows. I will get a tramp stamp of your logo if you review universe hound.

It's interesting how I've gone from,
"Yeah I don't want to collect Transformers, I don't play with toys any more." to,
"Oh my god I need most of the figures in this video!" in only a few months of being subbed to your channel.
The Constructicon, Scourge, Trailbreaker, Terrorsaur! They all look god tier. Clampdown looks pretty good too. Like you said his car mode looks very reminiscent of 2001's Prowl. Now if only I had the money for every figure I want.

Transformers Legacy has gotten some interesting repaint characters.
-Buzzworthy Bumblebee Dinobot and Terrorsaur: Cool incarnations of their original Beast Wars toys.
-Velocitron Speedia 500 Blurr: Love the shades of blues and has a cooler head design than the SS86 Blurr.
-Velocitron Speedia 500 Clampdown: With Kingdom Red Alert, they look really cool.
-Velocitron Speedia 500 Road Rocket: Looks cool as a robot ninja.
-Velocitron Speedia 500 Burnout: She looks cool. Hope for Crosscut and maybe Reboost in the future of Legacy.
-Velocitron Speedia 500 Road Hauler: Been hoping for him to appear since the Earthrise Grapple release. He's great.
-Velocitron Speedia 500 Scourge: Love everything about this guy from top to bottom.

I don't know that you needed to put the Velocitron Speedia 500 infront of every character there.
I got nothing to really add to any of that, you summed them all up pretty good.
According to the Concept art the Roadrocket was going to be female from the start. The pitch was even what if we had a female ninja Roadrocket
Then why the hell did they Androgynize the hell out of Arcee!
The dinobot looks fine but I got yellowing on him so fast, like a week after having him and I generally keep my display room dark. The terrorsaur looks great but they just re-released the vintage one and I prefer that one in a few ways. The scourge is pretty sick, i already got laser prime but this recolor might deserve another pick up, its just so cool. I'm just gonna sum up the rest saying I don't really care about them because I don't want to make this comment an essay. Thanks for the reviews perspectiveend.

@@PerspectiveEnd yeah, the forearms and joints on him are a completely different color than what they're supposed to be. If it wasn't for that the figure would be stellar and it's such a stupid issue that hasbro could easily fix
K so the thing with the upside down G2 logos was due to the retooling. The original Laser Prime mould has moulded G2 Autobot symbols on the disc launchers. Takara didn't want to tool them out, so they came up with the excuse of him being a reformatted protoform with upside down G2 autobot logos. That way, the discs would make sense...
...and then Hasbro went and tooled out the logos on the discs for the western release anyway...
My wild/dumb guess on why that’s the case for the US release:
Hasbro went “Hey, we got to save on some cash by not making a new show & toyline by just dubbing & localizing one. Why not use the extra cash on retooling?”. Or something like that.

@@PerspectiveEnd I was going to buy the original Kingdom one, but I noticed that Legacy Kickback was out, and I wasted my money.
I remember posting on the r/transformers subreddit that I really appreciated the cocky smirk that Velocitron Blurr has when compared to his 86 and SG versions, and I got quite a few comments that agreed with that statement. We really need more figures with facial expressions that aren't vacant stares (though that might be a bit difficult to do that).
I don't know how that didn't cross my mind, yeah that's cool.
“ALL BOW BEFORE THESE PILLARS OF HEIGHT!” (Also here’s an explanation for the upside down g2 autobot logos if you haven’t already received one. All of the “decepticons” in the series actually have that logo on them, they’re hidden on scourge most of the time but periodically flash on his shoulders. They are also present on the original Japanese versions of the toys. The only reason I’ve heard for why takara gave them this logo is because they wanted the laser prime mold to be their leader, however the g2 logo was molded into the disks it’s trailer fired. So instead of removing them they decided to keep the logo and just invert it because you could put the disks in either way. If that’s truly the reason then that’s very lazy on their part, but I think the end result was pretty cool).
That's all very weird and very dumb of them to have done.
@@PerspectiveEnd the bizarre thing about it is with the RID release of scourge they actually ended up removing the logos from the disks because the hasbro team didn’t want to use the upside down logo. (if hasbro could do that why didn’t takara)?
The reason Clampdown feels like Red Alert is because IT IS Red Alert...the Diaclone version of Red

i went to target the other day hoping to find the new Elita-1, (i did not, but i got bulkhead!) and i saw probably 12 of toy colors dinobot taking up 10-20% of the transformers shelf.
How do you like Bulkhead?

he’s a very smart figure, but i do think two little things could be improved:
1) the shoulders and elbows are juuuust a little too tight for my liking
2) the cab chest doesn’t seem to plug in very solid. it feels like it just mushes into place
other than that he is wonderful, and as someone who loves animated and likes prime it’s super cool to finally get a figure of bulkhead!

Tbh I think the Legacy Dinobot is a mess imo cause' I kinda like the Kingdom colors on Dinobot more.
tho I think they should switch sword colors imo too since the white paint seems fitting, more or maybe if I use a silver color marker I could paint the sword's blade in metal color to make it abit "sword-ish" if I were to get Kingdom Dinobot on eBay lol.
Also, I love the RID Scourge because he's not like that ugly lookin' blue hovercraft robot with Unicron's goatee XD.
I just like the head that's about it.

Gonna be honest with you, I think the androgynous nature of the road rocket figure is really nice. Many people in real life are androgynous in appearance but that sometimes has no impact on their gender. I would less consider it fucking up the mold and much rather representation of more different appearances and body types in transformers. At least within the context of this being a representation of the character Road Rocket, not Arcee. Such as how you often praise having certain character's designs being dumpy, overweight, frail, or overly skinny rather than making all characters have Hollywood bodies. (This comment is made with the awareness of the existence trans people, and non binary people, as well as the awareness of those groups lack of representation in media, their representation in transformers through the characters Anode and Lug, and how all of that should undoubtedly be a part of the discussion concerning how different transformer designs and characters should mimic all forms of real life physicalities, and how intersects with concepts of biological sex, gender identity, and how to do so with respect to those communities. However to do such in this comment would make it an essay and I just don't have the time for that right now)
The problem is that 1 it's not Androgynous, it's heavily female, and 2 it's because they Fucked it up, and didn't get even the fact that the character has a Visor right.
I would not call what you are calling Hollywood Boddies, Hollywood bodies. For all it's objectification of women, Hollywood actresses are rarely as busty as the characters you are talking about.

If you don’t want Clampdown, I could take him. I am actually working on a squad entirely compromised of the Sideswipe mold (ABCD Squad). I have had as much finding him as with Cosmos, so it would be appreciated.

I think you are using the term retool wrong when it comes to Blur
He’s more of a remould where he has new parts to make him look different but nothing else is changed
A retool is where a figure is used as a base and then a ton of changes are made to the look and the transformation
Everyone seems to have a different definition of retool.
I just categorize them into different tiers, like the Dinobot is a light retool, where he got a new head, the Blur is a medium retool where they changed a lot.
Cliffjumper is a heavy retool, where they even messed with some elements of transformation.

These overpriced repaints are the only new thing in my local stores shelves for the past month. The only new mold that showed up was Jhiaxus and I had already ordered him by the time I found him. (With the price hike they're cheaper online anyway.)

The upside down logos on Scourge are called Anti-Cybertron logos. They feature when Scourge attempts to possess Fortress Maximus.
I forgot he got those as like a weird powerup.
I know not everybody has seen cybertron/galaxy force (and a lot of people don't know how its definitively in the top 5 transformers shows by virtue of being a decent Brave anime) but road rocket should've totally just been ransack. Like he's from velocitron, turned into a bike, had wheels on his leg, and kindve shitty weird kibble gun...road rocket should have gotten his own mold, us UT fans will take whatever bones are thrown our way even if its just a new head retool.
And then if they wanted to do something creative throw an optimus primal repainted as crumplezone in a boxset to go with ransack, as a reference to the botcon figure of primal that was made from crumplezones original toy.
Are you saying that Brave isn't good? I've never heard someone make that claim. I haven't seen it so I don't know.
@@PerspectiveEnd nooo god no just that by virtue of being a decent brave-type anime galaxy force is automatically better than some of the more mediocre shows we've gotten since. Like the armada dub and energon/super link are hot garbage but galaxy force is this nice cheesy anime that really focuses on the mecha/scifi aspect of transformers. Think it was the piece of media that introduced the concept of cybertronian colony worlds which was later used to even better effect in IDW
There are some badass upgrade kits out there for scourge that make him look even way better
Hell there's one that gives him a dark cloak which looks absolutely amazing on him.
I don't think I've seen any of those upgrade kits.

But why would you do that. What makes Hauler special is the fan connection to the Constructions.
Windcharger could singlehandedly fight Unicron. Maybe giving the dude the ability to manipulate all kinds of metal (incliding Cybertronian) wasn't the best idea.

I did not expect another repaint palooza. Also, I see a bid for a titans return blitzwing, wich ends in about 2 hours. Right now he is at 24€(yes, I live in europe) and I hope/think he'll end up at 30 to 35€, Maximum I will go on him is 40. After that I think I won't get him. Wish me luck.... pls?

IDW Blurr: Kicks afterburner. Outside of Cosmos, my favorite of the Velocitron Deluxes. Who’d’ve thought that the best version of a mold meant to be peak G1 Blurr would be the one who WASN’T G1 Blurr?
Clampdown: Alright repaint of Kingdom Red Alert.
Road Rocket: Nice seeing him/her again, but why them of all characters? Why not use this tooling to make a Nightbird out of Prime Arcee? That way we’d have one more Decepticon AND a more fitting use for RR’s head.
Burn Out: Pour one out for my hopes of getting Crosscut or Reboost out of the Skids mold before this chick. Kinda surprised that a BotCon character like her is getting released so early, but her colors are nice.
Hauler: *Big Enough yell intensifies* I wonder how many people will try and repaint this guy into Grapple just so they can have a non-crippled ER Grapple in their collection. I mean, it’d be a waste of a perfectly good ex-Constructicon nothing character like Hauler, but I can imagine certain people being desperate to have a Grapple in their collection who doesn’t suck. That aside, he good
Black Convoy (not calling him Scourge because of the colors): Absolutely phenomenal color wise. Even though he’s just Laser Prime in traditional Nemesis Prime colors, those colors just elevate the mold so much.

Dinobot is sad he got skinned alive as punishment for leaving the Predicons. He still feels the pain.
Honestly, I really want Scourge Burnout and Terrisaur. I love Scourge for no real reason, probably because he is the only Nemsis Prime with a character, never got Skids and Burn out is sick as hell and I NEED a Terrisaur. I am kinda debating Clampdown and Hauler now. I have Sideswipe but Clampdown looks cool and I only have Grapple. To be fair, I got him for half his original retail price.
Already got Blurr and I don't mind him, he looks fantastic to me... but the wheels do piss me off. I WANT TO ROLL THEM DAMNIT
I dont really like getting repaints, but I have to admit some of these are aswsome. Might pick up more repaints than I expected thanks to Velositron

I don’t know anything about RID 2001, but I did have 3 figures from it. Legends Ironhide, Mirage, and Prowl. And the only reason I bought clampdown is because it scratches my nostalgia itch for that tiny little police car transformer I took with me everywhere as a child. I hope I can find it again someday
Edit: just looked up the mold, and the deco I have is apparently from the *universe* toyline from 2003
I's crazy that I didn't notice just how much it was like the RID01 Prowl till I had it in hand.
Scourge is an absolutely terrible release. The designers clearly intended to make another Nemesis Prime toy before someone remembered that Laser Prime already has an evil doppelgänger who’s name they could use. The toy is ok, looks like a 6/10, but it just isn’t Scourge. It feels like every non-g1 character they make gets this treatment, why can’t the rest of the fandom get faithful reimaginings of their favorite characters?
You know what, I actually think you are onto something there, this was a Nemesis and not a Scourge. Or at the least they were trying to combine the two.

I wanted a siege mold clampdown since sideswipe originally came out, and the kingdom mold was even better for him. Leaks said he was coming, i was excited
And Hasbro decide to make him inaccurate because "hes too similar to red alert", meanwhile they have sold 3 very similar versions of siege magnus in the past 3 years

Sorry I couldn't thrash it for it, I'd never actually heard about clampdown till now.
It's problem is just that it's Sideswipe again, Sideswipe is just a mold so basic, I can't get angry at it. It's the Kingdom Retool which is worse, by a fair bit, but not so much I'm ripping hair.
Lol I feel like I always disagree with you whenever it comes to legs. I personally love the look of the long legs on figures (er prime, rid scourge) as it makes figures look more sleek in my opinion. It’s a stylistic cue that I find very appealing.
I don't know how it can make it look more sleek. It looks unbalanced. Like a guy on stilts.
God that Dinobot is so ugly, and Road Rocket is better than Arcee, but thats not saying much…I like the rest of them though, I think my favourite (not Cosmos) figure from Velocitron is Burnout.

The Upside down G2 Autobot symbols are the symbol of his faction in Car robots.
The Destrongers, yeah that is really what they are called. think, less destron and more Anti-autobots, a subversion
of Autobots rather than just a plain destron.
I've been told it's based on a tooling mistake by Takara.

You really need to do a review on a app toys figures, they are only company that makes 3p prime figures and they are pretty good and relatively cheap, the Megatron is can be like found for 50ish dollars

I don’t know where you got the idea that Road Rocket had a single visor for eyes? The old box art shows individual eyes close to the new one AND the toy also has two eyes, despite they being wider and close together.

Honestly, aside from Hauler's accent colors being the same as Grapple's is the least head scratching choice in this line to me, no what actually raises my eyebrow is a constructicon participating in a race, is he there to patch up the racers? Is he a racer? These questions may never be answered
That is a good question, this guy ain't exactly a speed demon. Maybe he's there to drag them off the race course in case of a crash.
My scourge has really loose elbow joints and chipped paint on the wheels. Also one of the smokestacks is broken before opened.

Apparently it's based on the fact that there was a Takara Release where they just didn't bother changing the tooling for some embossed badges.
I can't help but feel like Scourge is just better than Lazer Prime.

Just spell his name the other way and the reason for Holler's face sculpt becomes clear - though it might also be a TMNT reference given the major color ;)
As for the upside down G2 Autobot logos on "Scourge," that matches the Japanese version of the original toy, which was a straight recolor of Laser OP with the insignia still molded into the disc shooter ammo. They just turned it upside down and said it was the Destronger insignia, to keep the changes down to paint apps and stickers. Since Car Robot/RiD'01 was the first try at a non-Beasties line after G1 sputtered out, they probably wanted to keep things as economical as they could in case it did poorly, hence the limited cast size and reuse of G2 molds.

I’m a bit interested in picking up Burnout and Black Convoy, but all the others don’t personally interest me. I don’t think they look bad (except toy colors Dinobot), I’m just not too interested. Now, if I can just find Tarantulas anywhere, that would be great
