Many thanks for the video. Greetings from the mountains of the pre-Pyrenees, in the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of Garrotxa, Catalonia, Spain. My grandfather and father had mules to transport the charcoal they made in the mountains and brought to Barcelona. With the arrival of gas at the end of the sixties, they had to close the company... My father drove the mules .

@@MTN_BUILT I remember when I was a child that my father explained to me that they were very strong and were able to pass through paths with a lot of unevenness in the mountain on very difficult cliffs and when we passed by on foot for me it was hard to believe that over there the mules had passed there and loaded. It was the last generation here in Europe that used to enjoy and care for these animals. That's why I like to watch these documentaries. With this nature you have in your country you can still enjoy these excursions with horses and mules.

We can't complain since we live in a natural park with more than 40 volcanoes and about 45 minutes from the Pyrenees mountains and one hour from the Mediterranean Sea, the Costa Brava, and one hour from Barcelona. Many tourists from Barcelona visit us here. Here, however, everything is smaller compared to the grandeur of the USA...

Hello!! Thank you so much! These are called hobbles and it helps to keep the horses and mules from wandering too far when they are loose grazing. We put them on the herd leaders and on those that haven’t been with this herd before so they don’t leave back down the trail and end up getting lost or hurt. ☺️
Always fun to do this stuff. I like your video but I have seen better. Would be nice to show the ladies and introduce them at the beginning as well as more camp shots of more cooking, campfire smoke, relaxing etc. We need to feel the fun of camping. A little too much just trail riding scenes. Thanks for sharing.

She decided to put this together to have the memory of the trip anyway though. 😊 Most of it is just from her phone and action cameras.

There were 6 of us girls total ☺️ 2 dogs, 2 mules and 7 horses! Yes we did, there are grizzlies up there. We didn’t encounter any though. The stock is loud and so that usually keeps them away ☺️👍🏼
Don't be fooled by the video. Montana is cold as ice even in summer. Nothing but rocks and rough ground and steep terrain. It's not for the faint of heart. You won't find urban amenities like doctor's and hospital's. So visit yes. Don't move there unless you are well versed in outdoor living.

lol yes, we bought him with him already having the bad habit of running with hobbles, so this is a 3 way. I don’t leave him unsupervised because he can get tangled in them easier than regular hobbles.
@@MTN_BUILT i had a gelding that ran faster then my dog when hobbled. fixed that by using one hobble to a front leg tied to a stake with length of lead rope, works like a charm

We could only stay one night because one of my friends had just had a baby. She wanted to get out into the mountains with the horses, but didn’t want to leave home for too long. ☺️👍🏼

My horse has no experience with hobbling. Do you have a fence around the night camp or how do you do it ? It looks amazing ❤
We hobble when grazing and keep an eye on them. At night we higline them all ☺️
