Hey Nickolas, great to see a video up. Seems like there is no shortage of dead standing around that camp of yours. You could build quite a shelter out there. Do you still have your winter shelter? Hope you make some winter videos. Thanks much for sharing this!

Spending quality time with your dad is priceless and fond memories, That's the best looking tent I have seen in a long time.. stay safe out there 🙏🏕🐕🐴🐴
I enjoy camping content quite a bit and this is definitely the channel I’ve been waiting to come across. I dig the silence, the natural sounds and the cowboy way of life. Thank you for uploading
I been considering geeting the buck 110 or 112 the last few weeks. I came across your video and now im seeing you use it.. im definitely about to pick one up now 😅
Get the s30v or magnacut blade steel, the standard 420hc dulls easy. You can custom order them from Buck or sometimes you can find them in stores like Cabelas. Pawn shops, too. The 110 is a CLASSIC!
Being raised in Wyoming, I have done a lot of this. Had a wall tent about the same size, actually. I had a wonderful mule and four good horses, took friends up during archery season and guided / wrangled during rifle season. Great memories! Thank you for posting, will look forward to your videos in the future.
Awesome video! Beautiful scenery, beautiful healthy horses, good dog, good food, good company... Love the silence too, glad you didn't add any music, this was perfect! I sub'd!!
Love your old school approach! Glad to see you back at it. As much as I love the backcountry pursuits of summer in the Colorado Rockies for me, nothing beats the crisp mornings and warm days of a fall camp! And I fall in love with that Marlin ever time it makes an appearance in your videos! No safe queen there, a well used tool as it was meant to be with the character and scars of several lifetimes of adventure 👍
This was definitely the way to do it, most comfortable camp I've stayed at. Ironically that rifle is only 6-7 years old, goes to show just how much I've used it I guess 🤣
Just got done reading All The Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy and I had the sudden urge to do essentially exactly what you're doing in this video! So glad I stumbled upon this.
Thank you Nicholas ☺️ What a wonderful, relaxing 20 minutes. It's good to see that Naomi & Sandy are doing well and that their papa is still happy & thriving out in the wilderness. Take care of yourself and the crew, we've got some rough times ahead. May our Glorious LORD GOD bless you abundantly in our Righteous Savior's Holy name, LORD JESUS CHRIST 🙏🏼🌿💞
One big log burns twice as long as 2 logs half the diameter and half the weight of the bigger log. For the night fire I use as big a chunk of wood that will fit in the door of the woodstove. Good job. Good times

Hi loved the video, what a way to spend a couple of days.. enjoyed 👍👍 Looking at the two lanterns and wondered if you had any info or links on them? TIA 👍
It was a pretty dreary day until I saw this video posted!!!! Made my day - your videos always take me back to a better place and time!!!! Thank you!!! Oh forgot to ask - new knife? Very nice looking!!!
Glad my video cheered you up! It is a new knife, but it's nothing special. I got it more as a joke since it was only 35$ before tax and shipping, turned out to be a beast of a knife but I'm not sure how long it'll last 🤣
YEAHH MANN! Love the fact that you're back!! Hey, I wanted to ask you could maybe do a video or a post about the stuff you have and the things you take when you go camping. I want to start doing it and I would love to know what you use!
I'm glad to be back! I'm not really sure how I'd do that since a lot of the gear I use is old and can't be bought anymore, not sure if it'd be much help, but if you have any questions about specific things, let me know!
@@wituikbws Aw that's a bummer, goes to show how amazing and skillfully you are I guess! 🤣. I just wanted to start camping because your videos inspired me a lot, make me think of a life I would love to live. Maybe you have any advice or book on how to get a few of the skills you have? Like the bushcrafting or others. Idk, I'm just happy to see a video of yours 😂
@@Andres-nz1sf Best advice I could give for the bushcrafting side is to just watch, read, and try things yourself until you get confident. For the horse side I did the same, but if I could do it over again it would've been much easier to find someone to learn from in person rather than using videos and books, especially with a green horse 🤣
Fantastic and idyllic looking camp! Love those hats as well, they look so new and clean. What brands are they? I usually wear my straw Resistol for summer but I’ve got a nice Serratelli (looks like your dads) for my going to town hat and another cheaper one for winter wear. I look forward to your next upload, you never disappoint! 👍
Thanks! The hats are new! I finally decided to replace my old Smithbilt hat, it had quite literally fallen apart and I was getting sick of it by the end of this years wrangling season. The hats are both made by Justin 6x, I got mine and my dad liked it so much he got one himself 😁
@@rickmccown6956 I can’t do that with as far south as I go. No vents in my winter lid equals a heck of a lot of sweat! 😂 But the felts do look better than the straw any day. 👍
Hey guys new Sub here ! great job taking care of the injured horse :) Pretty awesome camp you have set up" beautiful meadow with fresh water for you & the horses, I'm an off grid guy that loves the bush & animals :)
Welcome to the channel! Glad you liked the camp set up. It was pretty elaborate for what was realistically needed, but I figured why not for my first horse packing camp. No injured horses on this video aside from some galls on the fat one 😆
All UA-cam campers and so called off grid people, etc. spend a tremendous amount of time cutting, splitting "processing" (word I never heard until UA-cam people) wood. Campfires wood is meant to be simple. Drag something out of the woods and burn. Quit all the sawing, splitting, on and on. Put it on the fire. Heat stoves...quit splitting and "processing" (there's that word again) because large chunks burn longer. At bedtime put large chunks in stove and they will still be burning in am. Small split wood burns too fast. Does that explain it?
@@michaelmonnat7765 Yeah that make sense. I only do processing like that at permanent camps where it makes sense to have split wood and kindling lying around

Good to see you too! No kids, I'm only in my early twenties to it's not something I've even thought about. 🤣 Very sorry to hear that about your children, hope something changes in your favor sometime soon. Summer up here was pretty hot, lots of forest fires around us but nothing too close. Tried for moose around the time of filming this video but didn't see a damn thing, hardly even any fresh sign, but lots of mule and whitetail atleast. I'm going to do my best to get a video out every month, if not every two weeks. Thanks for the comment and for sticking around through my random disappearnces 🤣🤠
