This New Series has delivered Talking Babies, Farting Spaceships and Singing Drag Queens. Not to mention unrecognisable Beatles and superfluous musical performances.
We needed something substantial, something good. We needed Doctor Who. If anyone could do this, it had to be the Moff. "Boom" is not the instant classic we hoped for, but it's damn good with a Doctor making performance by Ncuti Gatwa. Showing the depth and range that we hoped would surface.
If the rest of the Series can build on this I will be a Happy Wholigan If not I got the One Good Story I wanted.👍👍
So good 🫡
I didn't have high expectations going into this one but this just proves when Moffat has time & doesn't have pressure on his shoulders. He writes master pieces. That was truly one of the best episodes we have had in the last five seasons. Made me feel like a child again tbh with how tense it was from start to finish. I felt Moffat gave Ncuti & Millie loads of good chemistry that didn't feel forced which is exactly what the new era needs. Dare I say this is somehow one of the best episodes of New Who aswell. If the show is to survive the writing needs to be held to this standard. Massive solid 9/10 from me.
Rammy!
Next week Aiden is gonna rock up looking like a lizard and be like "What's wrong?" 😮
I thought it was cool that Susan Twist played the ambulance ai, defo something ominous going on with her.
Ive been meaning to ask for ages but, would you guys do watchalongs/commentarys for the episode premieres? Or do you already do them?
We have a watch along playlist 👍🏻
I hate to be the dissenting voice but I suppose there’s no point in being dishonest. I found it really dull and twee and cloying. It was clearly done on the cheap too, that feckin’ CGI snowflake at the end was grim. But glad others loved it. I would love to love Who again 💔
I loved the line about turning the battlefield into dust
Into dust
In a heartbeat
Mr TARDIS found that interview and it was said that Episode two is Fantasy, ale third is hard Sci-Fi. So apparently the idea was for a long time. But also, The Doctor mentioned a date. October 5th is when BOOM happens. So it's another time jump. But also, they kept mentioning the dates so far. So maybe the time jumps are also part of the bigger picture. Also now it's even weirder that Ruby never visited alien planet and she travelled with the Doctor for 9 months.
Crazy!
@@50DoctorPodcast At first I thought they are doing time jumps to make room for novels (three already announced, with first one coming next month) and potential Big Finish. But now I wonder if this is another weird hint, like Susan Twist.
The only time I seen 5th October was on the casket of the corpse, showing the date and the year as 5087
This might be recency bias but Boom might already be one of my favourite episodes of the show
It's bloody quality, even better on rewatch!
I thought this episode was great. I cant believe im excited for doctor who every week. Im so happy my excitement for the show is back. Cant wait for next week what looks like itll be a horror one
Yep, it really is great! Especially on rewatch!
woop woop
Segun Akinola's music during 13s run was boring af
Was not impressed had its moments but the first section was very unbelievable no one would go off talking while in that situation was stupid
Best to have no dialogue then? That would make an enthralling show.
Did you guys actually watch the show? It's pure, unadulterated garbage.
No, never seen it is it good?
