just so people don't get the wrong idea: I enjoy it, I want to play it more. Progression and some balance is obviously a bit of an issue but nowhere as egregious as B2 launch since a lot of the best cards are low rarity. 15k for highest rarity is crazy though even if they're not necessary to have also redeem the code LAUNCHGOALS for bonus rewards :)
i agree with you tbh some balancing needs to be made and ive barely played much but 15k for the highest? if im not mistaken there are better cards right? The game generaly is okay but it could've been better.
based on intercepted http packets, does indicate that players match based on skill and/or rank as the game does have a hidden rank for you and only matches players similar rank to you. I've had to go against the same guy 10 times in a day because we were both so high up that literally no one else could match us... but the balance in this game is truly something else, if you thought jungle druid was busted, just wait until you try the growth gas bloon which has to be the best card in the game by a mile.
to be fair the game just drop so the some cards being unbalanced is expected and matchmaking like that is bit too narrow. Though only time will tell if it's actually narrow or it's just the lack of players
The big issue I have with progression isn't necessarily card prices. Its how you obtain resources. Its pretty much only in annoying quests that don't integrate well into standard gameplay, and account leveling thats glacially slow. It feels so untested and unfinished, and im baffled as to what nk wants me to do besides spend money on the solo mode or buy tokens.
I would point out that they could be working on their other IPs, specially since it's still going strong somehow (SAS ZA), but they have dropped the announcement of a new game in the series so, I'm happy.
Honestly the only major issue I have with the game is if you get disconnected there's no going back to the game, its just lost. Its kinda demotivating going 12+ rounds, get a lag spike and that whole 20+minute game is gone. Disappoinment is compounded by what you mentioned, each game doesn't guarrantee rewards.
It's a fun game to watch but getting invested into another f2p game is hard. Personally, I love BTD6 because it is paid. Progression is always smooth sailing and micro-transactions are 100% unnecessary.
The classic ninjakiwi maneuver; (since BTDB2) >Release a half-baked game with heavy pay2win elements but a good gameplay foundation >Patch the game out over the course of 2 years into a free2play friendly, content diverse independent game with a semi-consistent positive player base >Win back over the community by promoting it years later and having one major content drop over a large amount of content drought >Have another game under the BTD franchise under your belt which can be played on all platforms Honestly, I forgive them for their rough starts with the way they fix things later down the line. A No man's sky mentality where they actually improve the game over time instead of just straight abandoning projects.
it's not that acceptable in CCG space, considering a lot of us are coming over from PvZ Heroes (an oddly fair game despite having no patches for 7 or 8 years)
I feel like for how hyped Bloons battles 2 was they could’ve had a much larger community given they didn’t screw up their launch but I do agree the game right now feels more like an alpha game than full release
Dont forget how dry btd6 was on release where every t5 was dogsh minus perma spike Battles 2 had unbearable grinding which they tried to fix for months This game, it has small grinding issue but again most of good cards are cheap And speaking of pvz heroes The game is horribly grinding unless you steal someones budget deck and get ranking diamonds that way
@@monkegaming5091 the worse problem is the bug. Some tower worse, some tower become unstopable like dartling. Literally everyone use dartling which make the game stale
As someone in the card game space, this is literally non f2p-game players playing a standard f2p game for the first time. It's supposed to take years of daily play to max out your collection, you aren't allowed to farm infinite rewards (there's always some time-gated mechanic), and whatever the game's Legendary Card equivalent is always costs an absurd amount compared to every other rarity, that's true of all these games. The model is: f2p players will be able to unlock a few decks over time, moderate spenders will be able to get most of the cards with less effort, and only the whales will get absolutely everything. Especially considering this game doesn't have random packs to pull gambling addicts (we should be thankful to NK for this), they'll need to find whatever monetization they can get. Allowing the majority of the playerbase to have every card just won't do.
I am also in the card game space and i disagree that this is the same as all the other f2p card games online. Take hearthstone where they give you close to meta decks off the bat as a part of the on boarding process, or mtg arena where you can nearly max out your collection just by being good at drafting. Many other card games have quests that engage you for longer and make it easier to experiment with different cards. I agree the general model is basically the same, but if you have played BCS you'd see the scale of it is drastically different. Especially when the only mode is casual and there isn't much reason to play for more than like 5 relatively short games.
The fact that DAILY quests give 60 monkey money total but the DAILY shop is 305 for everything is ridiculous, especially when random common is 20, random uncommon is 50 (so you cant even buy both of them in a day) and random rare is 150
Daily shops usually aren't completely purchasable by daily rewards anyways, but an increase in rewards would be nice, maybe an extra reward if all quests are completed
I really enjoy the game and I feel like u gotta give props to ninja kiwi in a world where Pokémon can make the same game for the 20th time and make bank and Minecraft can update once every half year and still remain prevalent, actually makes new games in different genres using the same ip not to mention they are usually pretty good and unique 🎉
@@nameynamd9212 theyre still doing better than a lot of companies these days which really isn't too hard but still at least it is playable in its form, even if its a bit grindy and pay to progress for now theres a difference between something like this where we know the kinks will very likely be ironed out and progression hopefully fixed, leading to a fun and balanced strategy game, and something else where we know its gonna be left a buggy mess and in a horrible state of unfun to play im not saying its a good thing, and i definitely think more time should be given behind the scenes for most of these releases, but i cant say i fully blame them either i guess
ISAB made a lot of good points. I myself only play BTD6 but I enjoy all kinds of BTD content. I'll watch him play BTD6, Battle 2 or Card Storm. I just love watching the funni monkes.
progression dosent exist its daily quest and shop gambling ONLY. game basically only has duels for no reward as all its content. Also if u win too much u ge thigh mmr and play the same players only or dont get a game. However the actual game is alot of fun 5/10.
Or even for every 2 gold gained, or make it a higher value heal with only generated income(maybe throw in a 1 gold income on the druid, too, if it feels weak)
Bloons card storm is the only bloons game i could pre-register. It's a good thing that there is no bugs that randomly makes you lose game, only overpowered towers.
I'm still undecided on whether or not I want to start playing Card Storm, but I'll watch your videos on the game regardless. Ever since I got back into BTD6 two months ago I've been going through your videos and watching them all and listening to them in the background while I do other stuff. I personally like your voice so I'll listen to you talk about anything bloons related.
As a person that is into the card game genre (Magic the Gathering, and Star Wars Unlimited) I can say that this game wasn’t designed by people who play these sorts of game. I can tell right off the bat if a card is unplayable or the best and in my opinion I feel like aggro is going to dominate this game because why play monkeys when you can play Bloons and use your heroes skill. I don’t dislike the game for its progression but more for how the game feels and as it feels of right now feels terrible. The last thing you want in a card game is a dominant meta that destroys every other deck
If you still want to play this, can you post card storm videos on extras every once in a while? I would love to see it, and I hope enough other people feel the same
Ive picked up a few problems in this: One being the horrific balance with progression and the main game - Most of the cards actually aren't too bad in terms of power balance its just a few like jungle's bounty that are bad Animations are a huge issue - Ur turn is based on a timer that keeps counting down no matter what. The amount of times i place down a druid, wait for it to heal my gwen, then wait for gwen to activate her passive on the druid which gives it five extra damage. It wastes like ten seconds that could easily just be like two or three seconds. I mean if you know what you're doing before the turn, 90 seconds is still a huge amount of time per turn, but itd be nice to have a bit more lenience yk There's also the luck factor. You start with three cards. If you have bad luck rerolling, you could start with MOAB, BFB, Super monkey, and you cant play any of them until turn three if you go first (another issue). If your opponent has blues, reds, greens, thats almost game over right at the start if they pick up a pink later and you cant heal. Then theres the issue of who goes first. The player going first has a massive disadvantage coz they get one less gold and the storm affects the opponent first. Unless you get a card that costs 1 gold or less in ur starting hand (unlikely), theres nothing you can do. Then your opponent with 2 gold could get a green or two blue bloons and potentially get a 100 dmg headstart, and you only get 2 gold total next turn to defend it. Balance wise, I feel like damage towers are incredibly weak compared to powers, even though they can be used more than once. Like a boomerang, assuming it has two targets to hit, does total 40 dmg. A fire storm, which is the same cost, does 70 per bloon, if theres, say, 5 bloons there, thats 350 damage, which would take the boomerang nine turns to pay off, but youll probably replace it anyway for a higher damage tower since 40 damage is pitiful (only 25 to a single target too btw). There are better towers, but being F2P, or not wanting to spend more than like $10 or $20 (personally i dont think the game should have been free but its a bonus), its really hard or even impossible to get good towers in terms of raw damage. That's like every problem ive found with the game. The gameplay is awesome, i love the style of the animations from an aesthetic perspective, and when luck does work out, i love the strategical element of optimising your cards for maximum effectiveness to try overpower your opponent. I do enjoy the game, but its got a long way to go.
I like the game, and it is mostly comparable to pvz heroes, the progression is also preatty slow but not really bad, you cant max out a game in like a week
Im honestly having fun with this game and im glad it released. Some people say they think it should have stayed in the oven a bit longer but imo they probably wouldnt have seen how broken some of these cards really are without a global launch. Another beta could have been nice too but I think that its in a good enough shape to hold up well if they update it
While yeah, the progression may seem slow, but its misunderstood. You really aren't supposed to unlock cards you want, instead, daily offers in the shop for tokens and random cards are HOW this games supposed to be played. Monkey money is extremely easy to get, so everyday you're able to buy out all the daily offers and get random cards, one of whom may cost 3500 token, in which you just get for only 150 monkey money. your able to get 900 random tokens each day, 1 random common, 1 random rare, and 1 random epic for a less than 500 monkey money, which can be earned in just only 3 wins. In a nut shell: Progression isnt bad, its just heavily misunderstood.
I like the games ideas, I’d be happy to see how it goes when it’s more fleshed out. I’m a bit disappointed about the balancing since I think the bad balancing is such a factor in how battles 2 never got anywhere near td6 popularity, and not even close to battles 1 at its peak. Not progressing on normal games is pretty wild to me though, that should never be a thing in these kind of games
Jungles bounty is broken but also one of the most affordable strong cards, so as people figure out the meta there will be loads of jungles bounty Druid users
I am hoping that they make a new update for Bloons adventure time TD. That is one of my favorite Bloons games due to the voice acting and role playing and character combinations. They really need to add new characters to that game; perhaps incorporating the Amelia character from BCS and Fiona and cake from the new adventure time spinoff series. That would be truly awesome.
The other big issue I have with this game that isn’t progression related is single player. Not only is the majority of it locked behind a paywall, but I’m 50% sure you can’t even play it without an internet connection. I say 50% because it worked on my phone but not my tablet.
The games good but feel like an open beta with how little pvp content no arena system no picking maps in private battles it feels like theres 5 maps still a good game
limiting deck slots is so weird and i hope they lessen that limitation, it directly discourages experimentation with new decks unless the player is willing to blow resources on something that should by all means be available by default
i like how the main offensive tools used by the bloons in this game are gases it makes sense with them being balloons and i vibe with that but also i have a fear of anesthetics and other body-influencing gases so i don't vibe with that
I personally love the gameplay but yeah, the progression as a free2play player sucks. One strategy I found good is stacking bloons similar to battles. Basically you start with slow bloons like moabs and rainbows and add faster bloons like yellow bloons later on so all bloons attack during the same turn. I've done 1.2k damage in a single turn before. Starting out, i highly recomend quincy for defending as the cards you get kinda suck for defending and quincy by far has the best defence, especially for the very low mana cost
they should take the marvel snap route with card design and make a monkey with like 6 cost 5 power 10 ammo 2 reload so when it gets literally any buffs it just skyrockets in damage
I think the intended way for you to progress is to do your daily and weekly quests every day and then buy the daily items using monkey money, which would give you a decent amount of resources each day plus random cards
Btw, if you run out of cards mid game the game gives you 1 turn to win/die to enemy bloons or game will force concede Anyways what the hell is with gamepass prices each of them separately costs more than btd6 8:50 OKAY WHAT THE HELL I THOUGHT JUNGLE’S BOUNTY HEAL IS ONE TIME☠️
imo plantation and temple look meta the main downside used to justify low-cost cards being strong is hand size, therefore draw and stuff like arcane master would be super useful, and plantation counters draw also temple is just temple
I think theres many missed opportunites, like not including some towers or giving out more universal tokens (its especially annoying when you get all the support monkey tokens when theres like 4 towers you can buy with it total...)
i honestly really like the game. but the real main issue for me is that sometimes losses don't feel fair. it could just be me as i only have 2 or so hours on the game currently. but sometimes i just lose because the enemy just had more bloons cards or more monkeys on the field compared to me. i overall like the game and i find it fun but losses just feel unfair personally.
I love card game To me the main problem is the progression And the feeling of accomplishment Which is basically none whatsoever Felt like an empty demo Ninjakiwi have some core game design problem with their team
Currently abusing Banana Plantation + Jungle's Bounty to heavily cheese Amelia's adventure and get a bunch of rewards that way. Lol, this game is fun XD Might give a try to the Growth Gas Bloon and Heart of Vengance to make these cheeses more consistent since I'm sort of leaking a bunch and the enemy ai has too much stuff to easily kill my bloons
My issue is that the progression is so much of a long struggle for me moreso than it would be for a normal player. My preferred playstyle is very aggressive - say, what you get from Amelia. Problem. I need a lot of cards unlocked, and the most expensive hero unlocked, to really be able to.. do that without just being suboptimal and subject to even worse RNG. I want to make a playstyle around a lot of money gen, card draws, and potent bloon pressure with a light but effective defense. But even if its not much of a grind to get what i need, the fact that it is one sucks because I have to play a way i enjoy less or play with a worse deck to really make it work. edit: Oh, and I wish currency gain was through like, gameplay directly. not the weird quests exclusively. this is literally the halo infinite launch progression problem edit2: One last thing that kinda sucks. I love amelia's design! So much I wish we could have her in the other bloons games... but her mechanical design is very hard to adapt to the other games, and that sucks, because that means its incredibly unlikely to get a similar design in the other games in the future.
They probably do it this way to get a surge of cash on launch and then they release the version they have built to be able to pay for its own development. Not like they were making money for this game during development
Saying that progression is slow while game is 3 days old isn't fair. Even if some cards will cost you 15k tokens you can pull them for 150 monkey money. and you can get 60 per day and extra 450 per week with just quests
I want to enjoy playing this game, but it's just so boring and frustrating without having a variety of cards to work with. I'll probably still watch videos on it because editing speeds up the slow parts and Isab has way more of a head start than me with card unlocks. Until NK makes the reward distribution reasonable I won't be playing much more myself.
I like the idea and it is a very fun game but I feel like it needs a bit more content which I hope will get added in the future. Rn it just feels pretty stagnant after playing it for a bit
I thought it was pretty good than I realized you don’t get rewards for winning even if a match lasts for like half an hour all you get is exp which feels makes me and probably most the player base unmotivated to actually battle cause there’s barely any progression
Bloons Card Rush is a TCG, by its very nature it is going to be a bit pay to win. the balance thing is obviously more of an issue, but after time, just like every other tcg, it will balance out, knowing the ninja kiwi devs.
Good game, daily has no incentives and take way too long. Change it so people can actually complete their dailies lol. I played 5 games and was only able to complete 1 of my dailies.
More cards=better decks it's not linear not every card is as good as the other but buying cards directly gives you a better chance to win. I'm so tired of hearing that like it's p2w but they tired to hide big whoop we all see it being p2w that's fine it comes with the territory.
progression is an issue that happens a lot with card games like these, PvZ Heroes beginner progression is also just horrible and bascially requires hours of ad grinding lol
The turn timer is too long, I had a game last over 30 minutes, only 22 turns, most of the time was my opponents turn, and timing out doesnt have a negative effect because of how long the turn is, auto passing is not very impactful
3:03 yes but balance, espeically arbitral numbers, is always a subject to change. What if in the future content updates the game is going to get power creeped, like every CCG is?
they made the amelia the amazing mode insanely hard to beat, i can't even get past the 2nd fight as she spams so many bloons my defenders can't keep thanks to the cooldowns and theres a lack of AoE towers that can deal with the problem
just so people don't get the wrong idea: I enjoy it, I want to play it more. Progression and some balance is obviously a bit of an issue but nowhere as egregious as B2 launch since a lot of the best cards are low rarity. 15k for highest rarity is crazy though even if they're not necessary to have

The most obvious counter tk jungle bounty is any card that remove it such as shrink.
Removal cards are exclusive to just Jungle Druid, though possibly a Sabatoge Supply Lines power could be made that halves enemy income

Jungles bounty is broken but also one of the most affordable strong cards, so as people figure out the meta there will be loads of jungles bounty Druid users
my only pet peeve of the game is the big numbers instead of simplified numbers that could do the same job as big numbers
Battles 2 was 3 years ago. Damn.
Cant wait to do daily missions for 900 billion years to finally craft my 3rd super monkey fan club 🤩
Why does NK always drop games in this state it feels unfinished yet not rushed, idk how to describe it but they did that in btd battles 2
limiting deck slots is so weird and i hope they lessen that limitation, it directly discourages experimentation with new decks unless the player is willing to blow resources on something that should by all means be available by default
It makes sense that the meta is unbalanced to start! They didn't have player feedback on a lot of cards and deck-building wasn't yet a thing!
welcome back b2 launch 2.0
i like how the main offensive tools used by the bloons in this game are gases
it makes sense with them being balloons and i vibe with that
but also i have a fear of anesthetics and other body-influencing gases so i don't vibe with that
Just not enough content in the game now. There isn't even a mundane ranked system. But the basis is there! Hope the best for the game
Btw, if you run out of cards mid game the game gives you 1 turn to win/die to enemy bloons or game will force concede
Anyways what the hell is with gamepass prices each of them separately costs more than btd6
8:50 OKAY WHAT THE HELL I THOUGHT JUNGLE’S BOUNTY HEAL IS ONE TIME☠️
imo plantation and temple look meta
the main downside used to justify low-cost cards being strong is hand size, therefore draw and stuff like arcane master would be super useful, and plantation counters draw
also temple is just
temple
7:03 triple shart sounds op
I think theres many missed opportunites, like not including some towers or giving out more universal tokens (its especially annoying when you get all the support monkey tokens when theres like 4 towers you can buy with it total...)
i honestly really like the game. but the real main issue for me is that sometimes losses don't feel fair. it could just be me as i only have 2 or so hours on the game currently. but sometimes i just lose because the enemy just had more bloons cards or more monkeys on the field compared to me. i overall like the game and i find it fun but losses just feel unfair personally.
I love card game
To me the main problem is the progression
And the feeling of accomplishment
Which is basically none whatsoever
Felt like an empty demo
Ninjakiwi have some core game design problem with their team
I wish the singleplayer adventure was free, and that you got Obyn/Amelia's starter decks when you buy them with monkey money
Currently abusing Banana Plantation + Jungle's Bounty to heavily cheese Amelia's adventure and get a bunch of rewards that way. Lol, this game is fun XD
Might give a try to the Growth Gas Bloon and Heart of Vengance to make these cheeses more consistent since I'm sort of leaking a bunch and the enemy ai has too much stuff to easily kill my bloons
Gwen is such a baddie 🤤🥵
My issue is that the progression is so much of a long struggle for me moreso than it would be for a normal player.
My preferred playstyle is very aggressive - say, what you get from Amelia.
Problem.
I need a lot of cards unlocked, and the most expensive hero unlocked, to really be able to.. do that without just being suboptimal and subject to even worse RNG.
I want to make a playstyle around a lot of money gen, card draws, and potent bloon pressure with a light but effective defense.
But even if its not much of a grind to get what i need, the fact that it is one sucks because I have to play a way i enjoy less or play with a worse deck to really make it work.
edit: Oh, and I wish currency gain was through like, gameplay directly. not the weird quests exclusively.
this is literally the halo infinite launch progression problem
edit2: One last thing that kinda sucks.
Another issue is weak bloons feel too strong in the early game, and strong bloons feel way too weak in the late game
I don’t like card games at all but I wish it success
It’s really annoying how there’s no progression if you lose, it incentivises quit outs with poor hands
Rn it just feels pretty stagnant after playing it for a bit
just won like 5 games and got no xp, prob because of finishing matches quick. legendary
This game is so monetized its literally clash royale 2 😭😭😭
Edit: Just so yall know, I still really like this game and will be playing it
I thought it was pretty good than I realized you don’t get rewards for winning even if a match lasts for like half an hour all you get is exp which feels makes me and probably most the player base unmotivated to actually battle cause there’s barely any progression
NK doesn't seem to learn lol this is the same problem as battles 2, too grindy at launch
Bloons Card Rush is a TCG, by its very nature it is going to be a bit pay to win. the balance thing is obviously more of an issue, but after time, just like every other tcg, it will balance out, knowing the ninja kiwi devs.
I was on Badlands map and got the win when I had 10 HP and I didn’t overkill the opponent I got hit to exactly 0 HP it was SO CLOSE
Games nice apart from times with p2w ppl having cards costing over 15k tokens i went against someone with a sharp shooter
Good game, daily has no incentives and take way too long. Change it so people can actually complete their dailies lol. I played 5 games and was only able to complete 1 of my dailies.
Homie is giving his thoughts while being level 2
he was in the beta test
@ I was too… the beta is completely different than the main game.
More Extras YaY
Wait it's 15 per gold not per time you get gold did they not plates the card at all
its aight
The turn timer is too long, I had a game last over 30 minutes, only 22 turns, most of the time was my opponents turn, and timing out doesnt have a negative effect because of how long the turn is, auto passing is not very impactful
Isabextras Are you by chance friends with isab?
There is a bug you can damage your own bloons...
Maybe that is meant to be so though as it allows you to pow your own golden bloons.
3:03 yes but balance, espeically arbitral numbers, is always a subject to change. What if in the future content updates the game is going to get power creeped, like every CCG is?
I think the game just needs balencing. Pinks with buffs are hella broken
On top of the leveling system. From my experience, people quit when they know' they'll lose. You could be like 16 turns and get nothing
not enough sauda
Would.

they made the amelia the amazing mode insanely hard to beat, i can't even get past the 2nd fight as she spams so many bloons my defenders can't keep thanks to the cooldowns and theres a lack of AoE towers that can deal with the problem
A hint: dont defend, attack even harder. Thank me later.
@@nithraliabrawlstars6541 i managed to eat it earlier doing just that, currently on the 3rd fight which is even worse
i simp the cute magicial monkey girl
Simp💀🗿
I did one game, took like 30 minutes and I just died because I got unlucky with what cards I pulled, so I’m not a fan so far.
That’s what card games are mate, gotta outplay the luck or be insanely lucky. Game of chances
