My favorite moment was dell telling Eda he never blamed her for what happened. 😭😭😭😭😭
Even now I'm still holding onto hope for Disney to work up the courage to call Dana to make new Owl House content, even when she is taking a break at the moment, but other than that the show really does connect to me and many others everywhere. Also since it's pride month, the representation is so good and weren't even hiding that Luz is bi and Amity is a lesbian.
The Owl House brought so much joy to many and a series that will withstand the test of time. What are some of your favorite moments from the series?
The first Lumity kiss! 💋 It was such a magical and historical moment as the first LGBTQ kiss shown on a Disney show🥲🏳️🌈
Just found your channel and these videos, so far enjoying it a lot. I love seeing Luz and Amity communicate in a healthy and respectful way with their relationship. Amity not invading Luz's privacy regarding her phone video in S2E11 and Luz respecting Amity's boundaries during S2E14, especially with how she was being extremely non-defensive. The line "That's not an excuse for what I did" really resonated with me because it's kinda similar to how I act when I screw up. It's the idea of being totally open with one another, Amity even said that she can't help if she doesn't know what's going on with her girlfriend.
Another moment is Eda finding her own harmony with the Owl Beast, it had been a part of her life for over 20 years was a constant source of grief. How she was seen at Hexside after transforming when she forfeited the match to Lilith, with the students throwing things and laughing at her, and when her father was attacked. She had become a hermit and before Luz her only real connection was King, she had no one else caring for her in a healthy way. As she says in S2E1 "So, unfortunately for you, my life is pretty great because I'm friends with Luz the Human."
Also I just want to point out that Amity defending Luz against Odalia was perfection. In S2E20 when Odalia takes issue with Luz being Amity's girlfriend, Amity is quick to tell her to shove off and shows her defiance even further by trying to break out by literally punching the shell. It's good to see her breaking away from such an abusive part of her life, the "I am never speaking to you again" line she says later in that same episode she meant it. Amity never speaks to Odalia ever again in any subsequent episodes, I'm not even sure she acknowledges her existence. After all the damage that was done to her, sometimes the best revenge is to live freely and happily far away from the other person.
Oh hey this was longer than I intended. If you made it this far first of all hi and thank you, and secondly this show inspired me to write my own magic setting after my own beliefs. It even unlocked an extremely old and dusty memory that I had not thought about in years, it brought back that wonder I used to have. At 32 years old I didn't think I'd ever get that feeling back, I couldn't be happier having seen this show.
Great show overall but man as much as i love the lumity parts i wish ppl would talk about all the other parts of the show that are just as interesting
Totally one of my favourite Disney cartoons of all time! It's such an inspiring story with awesome diverse characters, including a wicked and terrifying villain! I think what really carries this show is it's sense of representation! It will with no doubt go down in history as a big step in animation storytelling and LGBTQ salute!
So I still love this show wish it didn't get cancelled but it was still amazing it reminded me of old cartoons like he-man master of the universe and other shows like it static shock maybe they can do something different in the future

Its not the end of the franchise because of the Easter eggs and new characters in the final so even though the series is over but the journey of the franchise is just the beginning 😊💯
P.s it is the journey that we go through that makes us who we want to be not the destination also the director did say she will bring it back but she wants to take a break which she really needs

Going to be honest I had really high hopes for TOH, it kinda did well on the ending but after a while it felt flat like there was not much hype because it gave a almost completely satisfying ending and that’s not always a good thing like playing a video game that only has one ending which at first it’s fun but then it’s gets boring, there are other games that have multiple endings and that’s makes it fun but TOH I felt like it could have been better compare to Amphibia that show makes me want to go back and watch it again but TOH I feel like I’ll see again next year…maybe. I blame Disney for cutting the series short, maybe if Dana knew she could have planned better but who knows 🤔. Also I think Luz still needed better character development, she’s literally staying on the isles for her escapism, we literally learned that Luz’s greatest wish is to be understood but everyone knows that you need to open up your true feelings and we didn’t see if Luz had any friends on the human realm if she really did change from who she was in the beginning 😑
@@olleselin yeah but getting magic was not what Luz really wanted, what she did want was to be understood and in the boiling isles eventually she learns that but we don’t know if she try to make any friends in the human realm besides we don’t know if she really developed past by what she was before, remember in the episode “reaching out “ it showed Luz major character flaw “a flaw that every MC has and overcomes during the series” she never overcame how she feels only admitting it when she was confronted. The ending gives a complete satisfied ending which after a while it feels flat 😐that there’s nothing more for us to imagine for. I’m saying this as someone who values a good storyline, this series has potential but honestly like I said before “ I’ll see it again next year….maybe “ but I blame Disney for cutting corners and being hypocrites 😤
Comparing the owl house's ending to amphibia's is a mistake I think. In amphibia we see the calamity trio grow up and learn to let go (even of eachother). It's definitely a meaningful message to communicate but, the owl house is just fundamentally different. Luz comes to the boiling isles in a similar state to how say marcy started but through the story by season 3 she's reached a point where she's depressed and determined to punish herself by cutting off her found family/girlfriend/ and her friends. For that sort of flawed character cutting off their safe/accepting space would be the unhealthy coping mechanism. The owl house posits that queer/witchy joy and the connections we build don't need to be moved past.
Tldr: amphibia is about moving on/growing up while the owl house is about finding a place to belong/ finding people who help make you the best version of yourself.
Also, say luz did stay in the human realm? What does that do narratively? Is it character growth for the series to make the main character cut all the connections they've built over the series? Obviously in some cases it could work but, I think owl houses ending is better imo. All the time spent building up relationships in amphibia only to have literal divine intervention cut them off? Like, couldn't they just give the trio the ability to travel back and forth without godlike powers or unlimited travel to anywhere? It all leads to a very good emotional moment that's a bit undercut imo by how contrived it is. The owl house on the other hand just feels like its ending is what would happen given the characters who are left going about their lives. Btw, we do see luz start connecting with her classmates when they invite her to the holloween party thing and she's already friends with masha and the gang effectively (although likely they would have come clean about the whole Vee impersonating her thing so Vee could maintain the connections she had with them).
Also, your video game example I take issue with. Some stories should have multiple endings but, some games and shows have a story to tell, once they wrap that up it's done. Lights out everyone go home. If oneshot let you play again after solstice it would kneecap the story. If outerwilds had a secret true ending where you could safe everyone or yourself it wouldn't make it better.
What I'm trying to say is having a happy ending is not always a bad decision. Nor is a single path for a video game story. They are both tools a creator can use to give the viewer/player an experience. They work well on the owl house imo and you could only ever say they were the wrong choice for a particular show.
One final note. Why would Daina write an ending where the sapphic romance has to be broken up so Luz can go "back to reality/grow up" that's such a terrible subtext. Even if it never directly implies that queer romance is doomed or sapphic couples are childish or fictional. It would destroy all the work they went into the incredible bi rep that Luz is.
