Bro spoke mandarin for a minute.
I believe you said a 7'6" rod.
The specifications on the rod say 6'6".
The rest is perfect. Love Okuma tackle.
I've had 2 of those SST's, and they both broke like a dry twig. I have about 4-5 Celio's they seem good. Love Okuma 🎣.
🤠 there's no question about it here,
that is a nice rod and reel spinning combo.
also another great short video too.
Thanks 👍
@@WillyFish
Very welcome you are
Would be better if you lost the weight and replace it with a small pulley bead fitted with a clip so you can fish any weight from a gram to whatever you need to get way out even when it's windy
i use a similar setup but on a shorter rod , usually the stocked ponds near me are highly pressured in certain spots so i find being able to pack up and move quick is better than casting out further .
Cast, walk and cast helps a lot!
Nice setup I use a 7ft rod 4lb test and 2lb berkley vanish for leader...
You can use a barrel swivel & barrel sinker 14 to 20 inch leader at the end. Just like a Carolina rig.
Nice fish 🐟 😋
Thank you Paul!
I bought the same rod yesterday. Okuma sst 8ft UL medium action and paired it with a johnny morris 1500 size reel
They stock trout here in the winter time. I usually use just corn or a small steamer with a bobber or rooster tail. Bet that setup would be awesome with em.😄👍👊
I wish we had winter stocking in oregon!
@@WillyFish they're actually not that big 1 to 3 pounds. Better than Illinois. Got a buddy that lives over the river and he comes over here to trout fish because most over there are under a Pound.👍
I use a lamiglas x-11 ultralight 7’ spinning pole . Reel is a Shimano syncopate 1000. Line is trilene 4lb test . It makes catching trout lots of fun . The set up is usually a egg sinker on line , bead and then swivel . Works great . I usually run about 2 foot leader of the 4lb and either corky or magnum power eggs . I use pretty much the same set up for trout , panfish , salmon and steelhead .
🐟 🔥
❤️ you @NWFishingSecrets
How long is your leader off of your swivel? And I’m guessing this works for live bait worms as well?
Bro..good day..
What brand is the spinning reel.?
Thank you.
What’s the weight you use for this setup?
Yessir. All depends in the lake as well.
Dream setup
awesome huge monster fish... that's wow 😳
Thank you
I have the same rod!! I love it
Nice Landen!
What’s the best weight for this rod?
Very nice! Im using a 7' (6-12 lbs) Shakespeare (ugly stick) with 10 lb braid, size 6 eagle claw leader and a few size 7 split shots to avoid the snags. Its been landing me 14-15 inch rainbows all week at my local lake :) happy fishing everyone!
What weight is your lead on that rod?
This is the way I set up my SST 7' 2-8#, Ceymar C-30. (1 of three rods). Set up with 30# Addicted (tuf-line) high vis orange braid, 15' fluorocarbon 10# bumper attached vie double uni, then a bead, weight, and swivel to an 8# leader with size 6 hook fishing power eggs. Floating up into the water column from the bottom. It slays fish all day. Love walking up to a pond or lake and asking if anyone is having any luck and when they say not yet... I cast and in 2-5 minutes got the first fish on to their amazement. They always ask me what I'm doing. 😂🤣🤣
My other two rods:
Guide select pro - 7'6", 2-6#. 15# addicted orange braid on Ceymar HD 3000A, 10' bumper, in line mustad float, and soft bead and a size 3 bead hook. For moving water.
6'6", 2-6# celilo. Ceymar HD3000A reel, 15' , 10# flourocarbon bumper, to snap swivel with panther Martin lure, or any lure I want to fish.
I always have at least 3 rods/set ups on me. In the car ready to go.
Like it except rig up a Mini Lost Child Rig. Slaying Trout out West with it.
What kind of retrieve for this setup? Low and slow?
I’ve never fished for them, but I’m planning to use an ultralight rod with 4lb mono, a size 10 Aberdeen hook, and a tiny split shot about 12” up the line. Maybe a bobber too. I’d be using Powerbait. If not this, then I’ll use an inline spinner, a spoon, or a rapala.
Good for you guy.
Love the set up but u caught a salmon right? Idk, I fish rainbow trout and it just looks a bit too beefy to be a trout…
It's for trout!
I do sincerely believe it's a salmon
I have that exact same rod and reel. One of my favorite combos for trout fishing
I love it!
Okuma 8'6" for the win
This is way to heavy
Ultralight
2-6 lb line
2/0 circle hook
Split shot Weight
Power bait
👌🔥🔥🔥
2/0 circle hook?
@@da_bammer ye cause it’s small and if your not actively fishing it sets the hook it’s self it’s perfect for trout any smaller hook will usually work
@@Heyitzdrew9 2/0 isn’t small at all
That rod is a 6’6”
best of luck when you get out there!
What brand is that sliding weight?
What specific line do you use? Thank you for all this info!
I Use 10lb dark green braid for my mainline
I have that same pole
Not a pole
Use 3000 - 4000 reel - 20*+ braided - medium rod
That’s a nice rod
TY!
I started with a 6 foot medium action rod. With 10lb test no leader. Tied directly to a mepps spinner, or to a swivel hooked to the spinner.
Catch the right time you get a fish every cast.
That's a good setup too!
Spinners are so fun and mepps good brand
bring dat 10lb test up to the sierras the trout will spot you on the freeway 🤣 i started with a similar rig
@@operationgnpthat’s funny as hell we call lake amador “Scamador”
Can you give more info on the rod oooks like what I’m looking for but I need to know more and see what it’s like thanks
Hey Alex, the rod in the video is a 6' 6" Okuma trout rated SST rod. 2-6lbs
Bro talks like Jojo siwa
Just grab a rod and a bright orange or green spoon and after a couple casts you’ll have a trout
I use a random handreel i found on the side of the road
The rod def says 6’6”
Phenix feather 7”7 light Shimano stradic 2500fl 15lb braid
Use floro for your leader it’s harder for the fish to see
How heavy is that weight for that rod. Curious. Looks like a ¼ oz. Yea?
Okuma on top no debate
Bro looks like Luka doncic
Fluro leader. Other then that i dig the setup.
I'd use a fluorocarbon leader, not mono.
Otherwise great set-up.
Size 12 bait holder hook seems really small. Is that correct? I would expected a size 8 at the smallest.
It’s me daisan, I recently lost a 40+ brown in a pond I fished for years and I never thought they were in it but I caught it on a another trout got any tips to caught it?
Where’s the fly rod at bud?
What bait are you using
powerbait, spinners, worms, eggs
Two split shots and a size 6 hook with a corn and your done😊
Exactly this guy made something simple complicated
Man I can use the cheapest gear, and still catch fish. Walmart has a ton of them in combos for cheap. I do have some ugly sticks, and a few other not so cheap rods
💯 comment
Bro does a full thesis statement on his line and then says add some bait when it comes to the most important part.
mine is 30 pounds 😂
Lmao i recognize those snap swivels, they are from daiso aren’t they
I love that daiso has fishing stuff, I tried some of their casting jigs and they actually caught me a bunch of salmon last year lol. But about the swivels yes they look like daiso’s swivels but p-line/ pucci also has swivels that look like that too,
sliding weight bead swivel > simple
Yes it is!
Ehh I'll stick with the fly rod
Haha he said 7 foot rod with to 2-6lbs, while holding a 6 6” 6-10lb rated rod. Great rod but that is for bass fishing lmao
I thought you couldn’t use braid to catch trout. (line visibility)?
We caught several tiny trout with braid, no leader. Too small to keep though.
I absolutely hate braided line
That's insane 😂
Trouts don’t breed like that in PA😂 so ill use your advice and downsize everything by 50%
Your trouts in the us are so small
Im from europe and i didnt understand a thing
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12Jesus!
Braid for trout? Not around here
Can trout see braided line?
@@thebrowithnoname1703 some people say yes i do better with mono as well but Ive caught trout with braid too
@@thebrowithnoname1703trout can see 4lb mono bud, not to say you cant go braided and crush it with good timing, action etc
No, only morons who suck at fishing make up nonsense like that. I catch 4 1b + steelhead on the regular with braid and a spinner on the end.
That a 6.6 not 7.6 and bit of a big real for what ya need smaller lighter gear better fight bro
Get plunking? Doesn't look like a plunking setup 🤔
wrong
Uh no
Hell naw👹
10 pound braid and 6 pound mono where's the fun in that. You're just cranking them in and you're not even really fishing. Use 5 pound braid and 2 pound fluoro/mono maybe 4 pound if you're scared. I've caught 20 pound trout on that you don't need to go any bigger than that
Yeah yeah sure you did old man.
All way too big that’s a bass set up and that’s a steal head not a trout
Overpriced
The science on fishing is so complicated now 🥲 I love fishing but my grandparents showed me how to catch a fish with some fishing line and a soda can 😂 the had no rod but all the techniques
Nah my stocked trout are in a stream. 5’6 ultra light and 2lb line
Uhm nah I'm good gold spoon is the MVP for trout
Gold for sure!
yall dont save gold for cloudy days?
Caught with gold on clear days and chrome on overcast, switch it up when there’s no action.
That’s 6ft 6in. Not 7ft.
Take the snap off the swivel,
Now try casting bobber with 5ft leader and prop Flys 😩🤌
