Uh oh... It's getting better... Edit: If this ends up being an "easy mocap" kinda tool, then it could be amazing. If I could use this and then export to something like Blender or Unreal to add extra details, that would be perfect.
I'm new to Runway, just learning the ropes. This Act One looks particularly useful especially as the technical skills required to create a 'performance' are less keyboard based but more fluidly 'acting' based. A whole new ball game from what I can see. Presumably this will work fine with 'created assets'. Virtual puppeteering based on visual acting I can do myself! I'm definitely up for some of that!
Congratulations on the video. Doubts: 1. 10 credit per 1 second is very expensive. In the UNLIMITED plan it should be possible (as the name says) to create in an unlimited way right? 2. Can I upload an audio ready for the character to speak? Or does it have to be my own voice straight? 3. If I record my voice in a language (for example English) can I change it to Portuguese in the Runway itself or will I have to take it to Elevenlabs later and change it? 4. Because if I take it to Elevenlabs and change the language, then I’ll need another AI to do the lip sync, right? Congratulations again on the video!
The clip at 3:16, even I sat and slow watched I saw it as AI rather fast, it was just a odd feeling something was off, I need to sat it is good, but the body was not moving and they did not breath when talking and there was no motion on the neck and the Adams apple, that took it into the uncanny valley for me, but I am still impressed and it will be fun to see what folk do with that.
sound design is huge, if a pro got hold of that he would make it 1000x better. The whole ambience didnt fit into a diner atmosphere. Your brain forgives odd movements that look odd but its unforgiving on poor sound..
I've tried it, and here's what I learned. I couldn't change the voice on my video 10 second clip. It made a low grade 3D character (what I prompted) which was impressive as the facial expressions were spot on, but if I asked it to change my character to a girl including a girl's voice, it gave me the same video with the same male character with eye liner and still my voice. If runway is listening.....PLEASE PLEASE explain your pricing and I'll be the first to sign up. Instead it mentions credits, doesn't explain the credits for gen 3 or Act 1, and just really doesn't do a good job of explaining how to pay or work the technology. The technology is mind boggling amazing, but with little to no controls, and no explanation in pricing, I'll wait until Runway can provide those. I really hope this is as game changing as it sort of appears.
I'm just waiting for the day when I can finally create an animated movie/series for my books. That would be amazing! Looks like this tool could help me get there.
How many characters can I choose from per subscription? Can you give me a link to all the characters available? Can I upload an FBX 3d character for you to use?
Wonder if this breaks apart as soon as there is camera movement or body movement
The fact that they aren't showing camera and body movement means that it does
it’s fine, give it another 6 months 😬

I don't know whether to be sad, happy or worried... 😐
WOW!
Great. Hopefully I can apply this technique to my animation channel soon!
Cool, tiananmen square animation 👍👍👍👍

I wonder if they will add body/mocap motion to make it more usable as a full body AI generation as opposed to just head and shoulders.
I doubt it can make complex animations, like fast actions, cameras angles etc
Well now I’m scared
Interesting

Open Source coming soon
When out for public
dang, knowing runway it will be 8 dollars a minute or sumthin' like that :(
What if the underlying acting used for it is shit??? Can it improve it ??
interesting, but it looks uncanny on the stylized animation.
No-IA pls
Hollywood and AI companies seems determined to face a proper class-action suit, the likes that break your company forever... nice... bring it on!
oh no.
-> Facefusion
Still looks AI generated. Thank god but, man, is it good.
no point working for hours and weeks in Maya anymore.... on a small aimation project....
