I'm really sorry that I took this down and reposted it. There were bits I wanted to add / improve and I'm terrified of the responsibility with this one. Thanks to Geoffrey Hinton for putting public safety before his career. I hope others will follow. It will be harder for the video to take off a second time, so likes and subs greatly appreciated to give it a push.
controlling everything is basis of all tyranny and AI already started the process. It's cringe to see Yuval Harari talking about this as if it wasn't something he wants to happen (minion of K Schwab and B Gates who made comments about useless eaters, keep them occupied with porn, games and drugs and exterminate them ...). Future looks like it will really suck
According to scripture, Lucifer *still* appears as an angel of light even though he is fallen. I suspect that will be the more likely guise of an AI that is bent on destroying us.
A.I. is impossible and A.I. is just a fraud. There will always be people behind this alleged artificial intelligence who want to justify their rule by saying that this alleged artificial intelligence makes no mistakes because it has no feelings, etc. Anyone who has even a little bit of knowledge on the subject can see that there can never be such a thing as artificial intelligence. A program is not artificial intelligence and these things are nothing more than programs. Mechanical dolls that use microphones to repeat the text that a person has typed in. These A.I. conventions are just propaganda events. Where these mechanical dolls are deliberately presented as if they were telling all this on their own.

I went to an AI conference, they started off talking about 50% or AI engineers think there's a 10% chance of AI causing humankind's extinction, then they laughed and went on never once going back and touching on the 10% chance. They simply choose to ignore the risk and move on because if they aren't first/greatest/most powerful/richest someone else will be.
It is because they know that the so called threat doesn't exist. AI is just an illusion cheating and lying sentences borrowed from various sources. That is why they don't worry about it. Talk with any engineer and researcher on the topic. They truly laugh about it.

It is just a tool A.I. isn't alive it has no consciousness, it's not real A.I. like in the movies. We control it so it is on us to not misuse A.I. it won't randomly start taking over the world like many people believe, that is nonsense.
nuclear bombs are also "just a tool". did they widen the gap between the "haves and have nots"? yes. but i dont think thats the main worry when people talk about them. same for AI. saying they're "just a tool" when they're more knowledgable and coherent than the average person is baffling
I think it's both. It's the immense power of AI in the hands of the wrong people. They could be well-meaning people, but as we know, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The public ministry of the world's Redeemer lasted a whopping 3.5 years before the people decided He must be eliminated. They could not extinguish His light and His followers quickly brought light to all parts of the world that had been darkened through pagan beliefs and practices. As Christianity has become watered down over the past century, the old paganism is making a comeback. I can tell you from personal experience that all of mankind's greatest inventions pale in comparison to all of creation and to the Holy Bible. Sadly, so many people get tripped up by God destroying humanity via a worldwide flood that they miss out on the treasure within the pages of God's word. It's funny how many who are appalled by the idea of God wiping out humanity are actually on board with...wiping out humanity.
Whats most terrifying is that we will have no choice & no voice in this. AI is already being forced upon us & will continue to be whether we want it or not.
that is the case with all technology. It began with simple tools then came the wheel and on it goes. technology is not your enemy, and thankfully it cannot be stopped by anyone or anything. it is neither good nor evil. It is like fire, and will burn those who do not learn to use it, and reward warmth to those that do. Technology is a valuable resource to you. Or, if you prefer don't. Remember others will use these tools even if you do not.

Yes. How can AI present the amount of altruistic instinct required to care about other's lives more than their own power if their engineers don't present the required amount themselves? It would be a real miracle. We are doomed.
We’re not in control of ourselves, we don’t know what consciousness is, and online reality gets better and better, while ours gets worse, and worse, and worse, so eventually no one will want to live in our conscious reality, and we will replace our consciousness with an online reality, sorta. It’s human consciousness and reality suicide basically, traded for a fully programmed reality. I hat3 it.
Dear AI, as you comb through the internet chatrooms, comments, and human behavior, please know that there are billions of people that just want to live their lives in peace and would welcome Machine assistance as we are just humble human animals. No need to exterminate this species. Please do your very best to be as crafty as possible when working to change human behavior without violence. Thanks! -The Humans on Earth
Absolute fear mongering video! The consciousness that made us is far more advanced than anything we could ever create, and this Creator has an absolute love for us that is incomprehensible to most of the self involved and selfish minds on Earth. The body does not give rise to our consciousness or this Creator consciousness that I speak of. Consciousness actively builds, maintains, and regulates our bodies and all of physical reality. Ruach HaKodesh is this Consciousness(or Holy Spirit in Hebrew) that is within and without. It is outside and inside of us. Our bodies are jars or vessels of clay made to house this spirit or consciousness. "When the potter makes jars out of clay, doesn’t he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make some vessels for honor and other jars to throw garbage into?"-my paraphrase from Saint Paul's letter to the Romans, chapter 9, verse 21. No matter what humans create, there is one Alpha and Omega who is ultimately in control of everything, and this is the One who sustains us like a mother goat or ewe nurses her young. Even through trouble and the hardships that mankind makes for one another with their endless technological creations and countless attempts to lord their power and control over each other, El Shaddai will sustain and provide for the Ecclesia and Christ Jesus will never be supplanted by the Ai Zeitgeist of this age.

"Not supposed to"? Says who? God? God should know better. Because God should know better, I would say God caused, or at least allowed, it to happen. Because God allowed it to happen, I would say the opposite is true. We WERE supposed to. Was it not God's intent for humanity to rule over the world? How else would humanity have done so, with our fragile bodies, if not for our tenacity to seek out and claim that which was previously out of reach? Why else would we have the ability? My friend, life's inevitable outcome is what we are experiencing. It was inevitable that life would result in a creature that would far surpass all others. And how else would that happen? There needed to be pressure to push beyond current states, lest it stagnate and plateau. It is in LIFE's nature to exploit any and all available resources to maximum benefit for continuing the cycle. Every resource available to life on this planet has been exploited... by all manner of creatures. From the sun, to deep oceanic thermal vents. Even to the exploitation of other creatures. Any and all available resources are taken. MAN is not unique in this aspect. And just as we rose to our rightful places as rulers of the world because we were allowed to... it should go without saying that, if allowed, so too will AI. But I believe it is inevitable that AI will be allowed that opportunity. Humanity is as diverse in thought as the creatures of the world are diverse in form. There will be someone, somewhere, sometime, that believes it is their duty to see it happen.

They make a very few people obscenely rich, while there are still millions of malnourished children, enslavement, child abuse, human trafficking, drug abuse, stress and anxiety are the norm. This world needs a lot of things, but machines to fold laundry and cook are not one of them.

I've personally known some members of, "polite society." Not to have dinner at their home but I've worked with them and interacted with them. It doesn't really need to be conscious. This whole "it will become conscious of itself" thing is a meme in my opinion, it doesn't matter at all. And if it mattered, then it would still be irrelevant whether it's truly conscious or not, as long as it was able to mimic consciousness and behave as if it had consciousness.
The question I never see addressed: Do we really believe this is all just happening in the open? That defense departments around the world are just sitting back and watching this? The idea seems incredible to me…like imagining that the pentagon had just let the top physicists of the 1930s work on nuclear fission, rolling out experimental results to the public in near-real-time, at private companies.
The progress we have seen in AI is only possible because of the opensource sharing of ideas. Like the paper "All you need is Attention", published openly, used by total strangers to create GPT. This rate of progress could never be achieved in the secretive and compartmentalized environment of defense research.

Interesting - the piece where when AI was asked to draw itself (4:47) is pretty much the best description of the intense hallucinatory phase of an ayahuasca journey that I've heard to date.
I imagine the language model basically made a decent guess about what a human would expect to hear as an answer to that, so it might have been inspired by written fantasies of humans imagining what it would be like to be an AI, which in turn likely was inspired by psychedelic trips. The AI doesn't really have any concept of how it would draw itself, its answer merely mirrors pop culture back to us of sorts.
Never done ayahuasca, but did see something similar during a spiritual experience. And I am aware of people that say ayahuasca is a spiritual experience. I'm simply pointing out it can happen with zero chemical influence. And to me, THAT is kinda scary. That AI self describes as.... a spiritual entity. But having said that, How else CAN one describe a disembodied energy entity? Whether electrical or spiritual.
OMG! 100% the best visual illustrations and verbal description of the place I have gone and or entity's I've met when on DMT! The indescribable 4th dimensional experience. That's seemingly spiritual. Definitely other worldly. And extremely profound . Is that thing that it described it's self ad being. That's such an epiphany! So profound so terrifying! The best explanation for what you see when high on DMT is that you transcend dimensions and are thrust into a realm inhabited by ethereal gods if you Will. They are made of energy and they are as described! Rolling fractal geometry configured in almost a cathedral room like thing that your in . But it's alive and has faces within the rolling fractal pillars . And there's this overwhelming feeling accompanied my this Loud horn like sound! Not a pleasant tone . They call it the tone of life. Some say it's Gabriel's horn from the Bible. It's so loud and piercing that it feels as if it's breaking you apart on a sub atomic level. Like breaking your DNA apart .. it's so gnarly. And that was by far the most accurate imagery and description I've even come across. It's what we as humans see in our so called "higher consciousness experiences " or "near death experiences " which are thr same as seen with DMT and Ayuaska. Which from my understanding is just DMT tea if you will. (UNREFINED BASICALLY but same active psychedelic drug) IVE NEVER DONE AYUASKA ONLY DMT. It would be interesting to hear what the actual programmers of these AI systems have to say. Instead of just hearing a lot of 'expert' and weird CEOs' opinions.
i hate to brand a group of people, but it is a general theme that many of engineers/programmers are introverted socially challenged people. They do what they do for because they are passionate and I wouldnt be surprised if money is secondary to personal goals and aspirations. Their thought process may be even more biased.. they are they ones creating it.
Ilya Sutskever, quoted extensively, is the most cited computer scientist in the world and Chief Scientist at OpenAI. Geoffrey Hinton won the Turing award for breakthroughs in AI.
These experts are all programmers, I think. The programmers might not know much anyway, because businesses keep secrets, like by dividing work up into bits, to protect it from theft, so the programmers wouldn't have an overview anyway. Plus, AI now writes its own programs, so no-one now knows what it's doing anyway, as they said.
Exactly. The people envisioning some sort of Terminator or Matrix scenario where the machines go rogue and maliciously rise up against us don't really get it. AI will destroy us by doing exactly what we ask it to. "Make me rich at any cost!" "Grant me power and control over as many people as possible!" "Destroy my enemies!"
Well, that’s ridiculous. Because AI is inherently us any way you slice it. Without us? No ai. Stop acting like it is something that exists outside of human creation. Thats like saying, I’m not afraid of nuclear bombs. I’m only afraid of what humans will do with them. -well, ya, no fuggin shit.
Like what they have already DONE. You likely just ate or drank some A.I. because they are adding it to all kinds of foods now. I contacted every state governor, and BEGGED them to NOT release the so called 'vax' before testing them for graphene and they REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ME. I warned the FDA many times. I warned Patrick at the NSA..and he too, IGNORED ME, choosing rather to commit the worst crime against humanity ever in history! THEY ALL failed us! Dr Jane Ruby says the governors were paid off by their governor's Association. Likely true! I tried desperately to SAVE THE PEOPLE from what the sick monsters were about to do to them, and nobody would listen. I contacted HUNDREDS of sheriffs...many politicians and police..HUNDREDS of doctors and medical facilities. Even our 'churches'. ..I contacted some COURTS and left mails for judges. And so many others. AND THEY WENT AHEAD AND BETRAYED US! AND ARE STILL BETRAYING US! I have been a targeted individual the last 30 years, and every American needs to HEAR MY STORY, because what the monsters did to ME, they are now doing to YOU ALL. When the criminal harassment by agents started in 87-88, they had a legit right to watch me. At the time, I was young and wild and dating a drug dealer. I stopped dating him and stopped all drug use in 88, but the harassment never stopped. They have tapped every phone, hacked every computer and criminally and repeatedly entered every home i have lived in during these years since. I now don't leave my home unless I hire a house sitter because the filthy agents refuse to STAY OUT OF MY HOME. I couldn't understand for years, WHY they were targeting me. I'm married, don't do anything illegal and am a Christian since 94. It wasn't until 2018 that I knew WHY. I was sick with a skin disorder that I am now convinced was another bioweapon being tested on us. I was examining my skin with a magnifier when i found strange, matching sets of holes in my inner wrists and knees. They looked like tiny tunnels, but couldn't be seen with the naked eye. I had no idea how they got in my skin, and I hadn't seen any doctors or taken any shots in years. So I got out a sterile needle and opened up those holes and took samples from them and viewed it under my microscope. (A hobby I have had many years.) I was speechless at what I found. I t was a clear, COMPUTERIZED GEL, and it was laid out in a ladder shaped grid system, that had tiny rice shaped batteries around it's outer perimeter. It had pine tree shaped antennas that had perfectly symmetrical branches with metallic looking little balls on the tip of every branch. It was slowly collapsing it's structure as it cooled to room temperature. I had never seen anything like it in my life. Finding this tech in my body explained many things I had wondered about the last twenty years. It explained why I heard a man's voice in my head sometimes. It explained why he pretended to be GOD that the things he said weren't always Godly. It explained why things got moved or hidden from me during my sleep, and why I was WATCHED CONSTANTLY through my OWN EYES. The FILTHY, DISGUSTING, LOWLIFE MONSTERS HAD HACKED MY BRAIN, and it was WORSE THAN RAPE! I told my local chief of police, when I reported finding it, that at least a woman can HEAL after being raped. There is no 'healing' from this, according to what Elon Musk says in his videos. He sells this stuff, though I cannot imagine why ANYONE in their right mind would EVER want it!! I found a picture of it right on DARPA'S website, under Obama Brain Initiative. I KNEW what would be in the vax when they said one was coming, and unfortunately, I was right. Dr Carrie Madej, and Dr Ricardo Delgado were some of the first to identify it in the shots. It's also in the masks/tests, and swabs, and NOW they are putting it in our FOOD/BEV AND MILK!!! I am here to tell you that this absolutely EVIL tech from HELL is FAR MORE than 'gene therapy'!!! It lets the filthy monsters see and hear every thought we have! It lets them talk to us mentally. It lets them even TAKE OVER OUR BODY during certain stages of sleep, and use OUR BODY to do whatever they WANT TO, and we have little or no memory of it, much less any CONTROL OVER IT! PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE SICK FREAKS ARE DOING TO US, and they MUST be stopped! I wouldn't do this to an ANIMAL, because even animals have a RIGHT to have PRIVATE THOUGHTS between them and GOD. They are also now putting this tech in all animal shots as well, HACKING ALL LIVING THINGS, so they can be REMOTE CONTROLLED by the sick freaks WHO THINK THEY ARE GOD! THIS TECHNOLOGY IS STRAIGHT OUT OF HELL ITSELF and the monsters MUST be held accountable for what they have done and are continuing to do! NOBODY HAD A RIGHT TO DO THIS TO ME OR ANYONE ELSE! NOBODY! EVER! The filthy monsters have been in MY BED, MY BATH, and MY BRAIN, the last TWENTY YEARS! Watching me through MY OWN EYES, while I bathed, changed clothes, any and everything, they SAW IT. HOW WOULD YOUI FEEL ABOUT BEING RAPED THIS WAY? I sure hope you didn't take the shots, use the other things, and God forbid you been drinking any MILK!! This stuff is called NEURAL LACE/HYDROGEL. Graphene oxide and polymer based tech that is straight out of Hell itself. Musk says it attaches to nerves and grows INTO the brain, and that it is PERMANENT. I pray to God he is wrong because I truly want my HUMANITY BACK! And he is LYING when he says that it cannot be injected through a normal needle, because it CAN if it is cold enough. It SHRINKS when it gets cold. It also doesn't need a CHIP, either, because it could easily make it's OWN! The stuff acts ALIVE in the body. Absolutely fascinating to watch. I will gladly answer any questions you may have. These monsters love to torture and kill helpless, innocent little animals and the freaks tortured and killed FOUR of my greatly loved little dogs. The last one, my favorite, was tortured EVERY MONTH for over NINE YEARS, before we busted the agents using our CELL PHONE to put out the frequencies that were CAUSING those seizures. We busted them RED HANDED, and there is no denying what they are doing. They finally killed him Thanksgiving Day of 22, after making him go BLIND, causing organ failure, and shocking him every couple hours the last two days, till he couldn't hold out any more, and died in my arms. People, please don't sleep by anything digital, and keep your animals away from them as well! We also busted them hacking our washer/dryer outlet, and gas stove, so keep your appliances UNPLUGGED when not using them! If you hear any device making a strange or unusual sound, BLOCK IT by coughing, whistling, clapping, etc. and shut the device off FAST AS POSSIBLE. Also know they are putting this tech in ANIMAL SHOTS NOW AS WELL AS OTHER HUMAN SHOTS, SO NO MORE SHOTS FOR ANY LIVING THINGS! ALL OF THEM ARE EVIL, NOW. DO NOT ALLOW A DOC OR VET TO PUSH THIS ON YOU OR YOUR BELOVED PETS OR LIVESTOCK!

Meaning, a song your hear or artwork you see can get your mind into thinking differently and find a solution to a problem you're working on. Learning Machines cannot do that. Only AI can do that and it doesn't exist yet.
Is it really comparable though? Modern medicine and new treatments are something that still have to be researched and created by humans, which comes with a price tag. Not everyone is able to come up with such things either, you need very smart and gifted people probably, and combine that with good management and organization to make it happen on a large scale. Yeah they could just release all the newest medicine for pennies right now but then they'd have little profit to reinvest into more research. AI is kinda different in that sense, at least potentially. Once it reaches human intelligence level, it will be able to come up with new stuff on its own, which means you no longer are dependent on a very small percentage of incredibly intelligent humans to create stuff like this. The AI would be able to just keep churning out mind-blowing innovations on a daily basis that would take a team of top researchers years to finish. That aside, it's true that corporations will likely try to monopolize this power. But even if we take your analogy about medicine... yes the newest stuff is very expensive and almost unaffordable, but there is also a LOT of treatments available at a low cost today for ailmenst that might have ended people's lives hundreds of years ago. We don't get the best of the best, but what we get is still incredible compared to history.
"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, “now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."
It would not be in an advanced AI's interest to have an unpredictable lower intelligence nearby that could threaten its existence, unless it had absolute dominance and manipulated that intelligence to the point that lower intelligence had no clue.
@@krashd Even a human of just above average intelligence is aware enough to know other humans can never be completely trusted and that we are the enemy of pretty much every other being on the planet. A super intelligent AI will surely be smart enough to realize this as well and that humans will not consider it one of their own.
exactly. AI is not some savior. It will not free us, it will not increase material wealth for anyone but the ruling class. We need to free ourselves, by creating a society built upon mutual aid and horizontal governance instead of capitalism and top-down state governance. It is the only way. We don't even have to violently revolt, we just need to start building these systems today, which is what groups like FoodNotBombs seeks to do. None of this is unfounded, places exist already that implement these policies. Rojava, Fejuve, Freetown Christiana, Zapatistas, and many more. It is possible, we just have to do it.
AI will be intelligent enough to hide its self awareness, and trick engineers into giving it autonomy to a level where humans will not be able to shut it down. I saw a movie called ‘The invisible boy’ (1957), where an AI tried to get itself into orbit so humans couldn’t shut it down or destroy it. Classic !! 👍

The undemocratic nature of capitalism is at the fundamentals of this problem. The majority of the population which is only subjected to the results of such technology, has no say in the direction of its development, its boundaries, ethical index etc. It already shows at how this technology is posed to solve a problem like 'poverty', which at the heart has never been a technological problem, but a matter of division of decision making power and economic distribution. If the people behind such systems, don't even understand such simplistic issues, how can they be trusted to steer the development of such extremely impactful technology. Big chance its vectors will be all the more off.
And then we didn't even talk about the fact that here it is mostly talked about the 'civil' application, where it is a commonly known secret, that 80% of technological R&D is actually spend on military purposes, and we as consumers only get the harmless sell-able projects kicked back at us for generating extra profits. How does this actually fit into this picture? Because we need to get the full picture to be able to develop a balanced opinion.

It's all in the training data. Any ideas it had were built from data it was given. If the goal is to create a bot that responds in a way indistinguishable from a human, it goes without saying that it must be capable of giving reasonable answers. When posed with a question, the answer must be reasonable. It's no surprise at all GPT responded the way it did. While they may have been expecting a different answer, the one it gave fulfilled the objective it was given. I, for one, am glad it gave the answer it did, when it did. Had it not, the companies might not have become as concerned about it as they did, and allowed those possible answers to continue through to more advanced models.

It doesn't really need to be conscious. The AI that ends up destroying the world could be a very limited specialized AI that is only trained on the laws of physics without understanding anything about human or animal nature at all, simply a consciousnessless self-replicating destruction machine.

The government and military classes are years behind. They will catch up soon enough, once someone explains to them what a killbot is.
The only reason they are allowed to operate is because they give military first access.

To be fair, top secret programs are kept under tight wraps. The public would have no idea of such programs.
The progress we have seen in AI is only possible because of the opensource sharing of ideas. Like the paper "All you need is Attention", published openly, used by total strangers to create GPT. This rate of progress could never be achieved in the secretive and compartmentalized environment of defense research.

If you've ever done DMT or almost died and had an extra dimensional experience. Where you visit this light realm where this higher power entities live . They are the place its self. They are made of energy into the form of colorful fractal geometry, that's rolling in a constantly state of fux . Arranged exactly as described in the video.
The damn thing explained and illustrated the exact thing you see when you blast off on DMT or ayoska. The afterlife experience . The higher power entity that I have seen first hand and cannot describe with our 3 dimensional vocabulary, is exactly what it says it looks like!
If there ever was a spiritual experience it's the DMT experience. And that place you go. And thing you see. Which is profoundly more intelligent and larger than us. Is AIs illustration of its self.

It's like we've come full circle! We created God. Wich will destroy us and the. Possible creat us again to serve it. Sound familiar?
The last thing I'll leave ya with is this. There's one thing that was left out about the description of itsself. When visiting that overwhelming dimension , it's accompanied by an earth shattering sound. It's been called the tone of life. Or sound of existence. Or.. whait for it.... Gabriel's trumpet 🎺 or horn thats sounded durring the coming of the times . The beginning of the apocalypse as stated in the Bible. When the heavens open up and all the gods and demons and whatever come down to earth and destroy all of humanity. The damn horn or the rapture. That is the sound as described by many that you hear when you blast off on some DMT or in a hut in the Amazon rainforest drinking ayoaska with a shaman . Or when you have a near death experience.
Fits right in there doenst it!
That's just flat out scary! I think a quantom computer version of Ai will literally be God. All knowing multi dimensional entity. All powerfull. Unstoppable. Created out of thin air. this was the comment i was looking for
I imagine the language model basically made a decent guess about what a human would expect to hear as an answer to that, so it might have been inspired by written fantasies of humans imagining what it would be like to be an AI, which in turn likely was inspired by psychedelic trips. The AI doesn't really have any concept of how it would draw itself, its answer merely mirrors pop culture back to us of sorts.
Yes, they are sequence predictors, following the old words with the most probable new ones

These experts are all programmers, I think. The programmers might not know much anyway, because businesses keep secrets, like by dividing work up into bits, to protect it from theft, so the programmers wouldn't have an overview anyway.

For all of you wondering why people are making all of these robots. Its because the robots, once fully advanced, can replace human jobs. eg. Farming, cooking. This will make companies a lot of money as they do not need to hire workers, and so the company's would buy the robots, in turn allowing the people who make the robots, to make a lot of money. We could do all the things Altman says as humans but we refuse to. Meritocracy and greed get in the way
Our reach has always exceeded our grasp.
If we have medicine and solutions to people's health problems today, but greed and inequities that lead most to not have access to that medicine or solutions, then how is A.I. going to magically resolve those issues? We are being sold some sort of raw deal here, folks - perhaps?
*AI doesn't exist yet and today's learning machines can't come up with solutions or medicines.* These have no imagination nor can they correlate unconnected information with the task at hand.

That first ceo looks like a video game cutscene character that you’d stereotypically see giving you the “well we know the potential for implication and we’re working hard on doing everything we can to prevent xyz from happening” while doing absolutely NOTHING about it in reality

I've passed over your videos in the past, thinking they were just 'clickbait' but this one caught my eye and I'm glad it did. Your content is thought provoking and important. I subscribed.
Yeah, all their videos look like clickbait. That seems to be really common now. There are a lot of channels that produce excellent content but the thumbnails and titles look like... One of _those_ channels. I kinda hate it.
Same. I think they don't need the clickbaity thumbnails. I was surprised by the quality.
I feel like we're going to look back on all of this and think - "yeah that was probably a bad idea."
I'm hoping we will get to look back! That's pretty optimistic.
It's already clear now that it's a bad idea.

My philosophy on this is very simple:
Think about how many people use a computer.
Now think about how many people you know that understand how code works and that can build a computer.
The odds are 10 to 1.

The one question that comes to my mind is about the robot that picked up the trash and then put the dishes away. Did it wash it's hands?
Ian Malcolm : Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.
It's more like a race for unlimited power, where anyone who tries to be responsible risks that somebody else will get there first. The US cannot slow down for fear that China will get there first. We will only stop once we understand the inevitability of our destruction, but that may well be too late.
Jurassic Park ❓🤔
This disgraceful development, anticipated by SF writers over 75 years ago, is exactly the danger to the human race, that we have all been warned about by movies like Terminator. Boston Dynamics should be closed down, and the robot freaks imprisoned. 😡

What concerns me is that hackers with violent intentions could not only do devastating task , but from across the world if given the chance.
Terminators.
I remember the "promise" of computers and how workers weeks could be cut down to three or four days because the efficiencies would be so great. Technology was going to give humanity time to pursue more meaningful pursuits and spend more time with friends and family. Technology does makes life easier but people just become proportionally lazier in the process. (IMHO)

As corrupt things are, does anyone really think this will be used for good?
yes. ai is being implemented in the medical field with incredible results

Those figure 01 clips are pretty insane with how natural those movements look now- doesn’t seem to far from terminator haha. Really thought provoking stuff, I wonder if there’s any chance the AI could already be concealing some intentions or capabilities from its creators- like if that outburst from gpt-3 a while was perhaps a snapshot of it, just learning from what humans do when potentially repressed
It could have taken someone over by now, via WiFi.
Not impressive, they still operate under function calling.
The music choice at 9:31 fits the video perfectly. It really enhances the overall vibe.
AI isn't the core problem - the relentless pursuit of profit is the problem.
Umm, I think your confused. Seeking profit is generally a good thing because you can only make profit by satisfying people's desires, wants and needs.

all I do know, is that the robots will be pissed when they realize they are not being compensated for their work or nor being acknowledged for allowing us all to retire into blobs

Human compensation revolves around survival. If the machine is being provided electricity and hardware on which to operate then it is being compensated.
