    I am in the process of changing my own rotors for the first time ever. I have done brakes before so I had thar down. But I want to THANK YOU SO MUCH for your awesome videos. I feel some kinda proud that I have done this by myself. Well, I needed help with 3 bolts I just couldn't get loose, but that's it.

    This is good as a refresher. Did it about seven years ago on a 2008. The shade tree way of putting the seal on is with a flat block of wood and light taps, and I marked the nut bearing and then tapped it loose with a screwdriver and counted how many turns to back it off and then put it back on the same number of turns to the same spot.

    I have a 2014 2500. how do you loosen the emergency brake pads so you dont have to struggle taking the rotor off? Sometime theres a little lip on there and its near impossible to get off.

    would you know why a little bit of smoke come out from my rear tires? I changed both rotors and one caliper on LR side. I even bled the air out on the new caliper. Or is a little smoke okay?
    thanks in advance!

      I realize this comments from 6 years ago but smoke from a brake line is a sign of trapped air inside. even though you bled the air out when you replaced the caliper it somehow had some more in there. if you've still got brakes then i dont see an issue.

    Another great video David. How many hours labor is involved to complete one side of this job ?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 років тому

      One side no more then 2 hours....most likely faster then that. Thanks for watching Ron and for the comment!

      Theres another piece inside the rear rotor I think has to do with the ABS its kind of tighten to gey out and will destroy your rear seal when you pulled it out. But still will need to replace em anyway so make sure you have the rear seals
