Thank you Foresty, for 5 years of free therapy. Every video is as unique as each day. What a beautiful day it is. Lucky you have your supawvisor Rocko to move boulders for you. I love hearing the ravens. Cheers!
Thanks Christina 🙂

Why don’t you just ask yourself?
My thoughts exactly
You and your channel deserve more than one thumbs up, excellent, excellent, excellent content.
This is so beautiful. Don't force yourself to come up with something new every episode, just do it for the fun. You don't need to do crazy hikes or new recipes. As someone who is in Texas, the land of never-changing, boring scenery, 100-degree days at the end of September, and seeing only the inside of the office for 40 hours a week, sitting in traffic for 2 hours every day, trapped in this concrete jungle. To me, you are living the dream life.
this, im watching this in the office and dying inside day by day
Five years of sharing life with a wonderful man. There is no one like you, no one. You and Rocko are genuine blessings in our lives. Cheers for years and years to come, Foresty.
Is her name Rocko or Rocco?
@@NiteTrain345 Rocko
Yes, even with his saw-machete in hand to clear trails brings me peace and tranquility.
As one viewer commented thank you for 5 years of free therapy. I can't thank you enough for the calm and centerdness your videos bring to my life each time. I am stressed due to work, parenting and many other personal factors but one thing that consistently shines a beautiful light in my life is your videos. No matter what kind of a day I've had, the moment I see a new video from you, it lightens the burdens off my shoulders and my soul and just takes me to a better place. I cannot express how thankful I am for that. Much love and peace to you my dear dear friend.
I really enjoyed this episode, especially how you showed the peace and quiet. You could really feel it, like we were there with you.
You cook better in your van than I do at home.
I think about that too. All those fresh vegetables added in.
Even if it’s Mac n cheese it’s always better when someone else makes it. 🤤
That’s exactly what I was thinking😂
I shower better in my home than he does in his van
@@wakaphwap😂
whiskey by the firelight. crisp autumn air. fallen leaves. cooking on the fire. that's livin'.
Hearing you talk about a hike or the history of a place is great but these videos are my favorite. The sights and sounds of daily life in the wild are just a tonic.
Great episode! You tell the whole story with no dialogue needed. It is masterful work start to finish. Nobody does it better. :-))
My thoughts exactly! ❤
Reminds me of My Self Reliance channel
Simon. I rarely comment but today your cinematography is outstanding. The whole video needed few words. Brilliant.
Pretty chill episode Foresty, thanks!
Congratulations Simon, for taking thousands of people along on a bit of your journey to places that we would otherwise not see. Thanks Rocco for adding so much to each video and for bringing smiles throughout each video. Your new video on youtube are always the first I open. Thank you so much.
5 years 🎉 looking forward to the future Simon. Your adventures and production levels has grown tremendously 👍🏼
Thank you!
@@forestyforestfrom the first video I saw, you stood out for sharing your adventures with us and your amazing nature videos.
You're welcome! ☺
Top tier production, shots, music, editing, all of it. Amazing that it's all accomplished by one guy in a van!
Another peaceful and relaxing episode. Some very colorful Autumn footage. Safe travels wherever the spirit moves you!
5 yrs of exploring life and sharing it with us. Thank You….
The colors and filming were so beautiful in this video. Watching you cut wood and put the stovepipe in place made me feel so cozy and happy for this turn of the season. And filming with mostly ambient sound was so peaceful. Congratulations for creating such a beautiful and fulfilling life for yourself and Rocko. I send best wishes for your continued well-being and happiness.
A simple man.
A simple life.
If everyone on the planet could live as close to the earth as you do, Foresty, I think that our society and the planet would be in a lot better shape.
Thank you for sharing your life with us for the past five years, and for reminding us that our lives only have to be as complicated or as simple as we choose for it to be.
Congratulations Foresty Forest on 5 years of epic van adventures!! Cheer's to Rocko for being the best climbing, camping buddy ever! 👍👍🍻🎉🎉🎉🎉
Love the night sky shot.
I have this van, minus the 4WD, so I know the space well. It blows my mind every time to see the amount of life a creative soul can pack in that space.
Congrats on five years of van life, mountain climbing, hiking and travel all over North America, Simon. Been watching you since the bicycle journey days, and you have continued to survive and thrive as you developed your style and your channel. Your content is honest and your vids keep getting better and better as you improve your craft as a videographer. Happy for you, my friend. I'll be watching for as long as I am still here (75 now so who knows). You are the master of YT adventure, and I truly appreciate your work. Keep on keepin' on!! 😎🌲🌎
Thank you!
Congrats on five years! Living the life indeed! The scenery is absolutely stunning! So peaceful. Awesome video. Thank you
From an Elder hermit to a younger: Solitude is not given; solitude is earned. Angels walk with you, boy. Carry the weight just a little farther.
Thanks, its a balance that's for sure. Dipping into loneliness is a detriment.
I would like to express my gratitude for the beautiful and refreshing fall movie. The impressive visuals and calm sounds truly stirred my senses and captivated me. It is rare to find such a peaceful content among the stream of chaotic information that we are provided daily. The beauty and importance of our natural world makes me want to pack a backpack and go on a trip myself. Congratulations Simon🙂
Thanks so much for all the beauty you have shown us. I’ve only been watching for about a year, but I’ve gone back and watched all your posted videos. They have brought me a lot of joy and I’ve seen your videography and editing skills increase a lot. You are contributing something important to our world and I want you to know that many of us really appreciate it. Thanks, man.
Silence is golden.
Breathtaking shots. The beauty of this planet never ceases to amaze me. Thanks and congrats on the 5 year milestone!

The "simple" life is the attraction of your videos to me, so I guess it makes sense that these "simple" videos are the ones that make me the most introspective. Thanks Foresty.
Knowing how much effort and anxiety it is for you to record yourself speaking, it felt very nice to just relax with you and listen to all the other sounds. Congratulations on 5 years (been watching you since the beginning), thank you for doing what you do, and more non-speaking videos please!
Beautiful start to this video . Getting the popcorn and the coke.
Talk about picturesque to camp. Can't top it FF. Glad you took us along. Thanks for beautiful Canada scenes and treks.
I was age 74 when you first started. Now 79 and still love the peace you give this old Paramedic after 40 yrs. on the road.
The colours, the drone shots, the pacing and editing on this, simply sublime. Cheers to 5 years!!
Such a peaceful video! What beautiful autumn colours!
Times waits for no one. 5 yrs seems like just last week. Looking forward to 5 more. Nicely done Foresty🙂
Thanks Darrell!!
Wow it’s been 5 years already! Thank you for making such amazing content for everyone to watch, and sharing all your adventures with us! Safe travels to wherever you go next!
Never get tired of Rocko doing a great imitation of a rocket! Love watching your wonderful set up shots! Thankyou for your superb channel!
the first ten minutes of no talking to us and the cinematic photography is of the highest levels. 👍
I'm not even done with the video and my blood pressure has dropped. Love it. Thanks
I don't even know when those years went by. I still sometimes go back to the old video in the minivan. Thank you.
Don't put off tomorrow what you can *Bee* today.
Go out and smell the Flowers! 🌹🌺🌻🌼🌷
I am loving the Autumn colors , Rocko makes a really good bed wamer! Thanks for taking us along an thumbs UP!
In my next life I WILL do this! Your rhythm is flawless and WITH the flow of the natural beauty of nature! Thank you Mr. Foresty! Thank you! Silence is golden.
I am 2:03 into this video and I’m loving whatever you are doing - the sounds, the videography - it’s like I’m there and the picture quality is stunning. Holy crap Simon
What an awesome video. Next to no dialogue; no distracting background music. Your incredible videography told the story so very well. Thanks for an incredible viewing experience.
I just love these ASMR episodes with no talking, no music. Like the blizzard episode. Pure chill and so pure and I could imagine more relaxing and more in the comfort zone than doing it with a lot of talking.
At 2 mins in, that drone shot showing the Autumnal colours took my breath away, the lake, the trees, the mountain surrounded by cloud. Absolutely beautiful. Great video mate 👍 Russ in the UK 🇬🇧
Oh my fur and whiskers!
Foresty Forest is: I'm late, I'm late, I'm late again for a very important Van Life date.
Best ever episode ever for me. Beautifully put together: photography, editing, sound, story. All excellently organised. Thanks for all your great work and for being there.
It’s 104 F now in Texas so your video is a welcome relief! Thanks!
Always amazed at your creative filming angles...weforget that you're placing/replacing it everytime haha
Hard work
Very well said, I know he puts so much effort into his videos and I can tell you that from this poor soul I greatly appreciate it the work.
Does anyone else remember when he found those metal grills out in the Yukon years ago? I think he was still in the minivan back then too! I love these videos and they’ve only gotten better and longer over the years! Here’s to the next 5 years of foresty forest, wherever life takes you!
This guy is a Canadian Legend.
Thank you Forest for doing what you do. My husband and I really enjoy your videos, and always look forward to seeing what you’re doing. Thank you for sharing 💜

You’ve got style, man. You’ve got style. Talk about your cinematography speaks for itself.
Congratulations Foresty! Five years!!! Great camping, great drone shots! I don’t drink but in your honor I stewed apples today with cinnamon and maple syrup, put them on some vanilla ice-cream and toast you with that! Wishing you more of what you and Rocko enjoy with good health and safe travels!
That does look cosy! Always amazed at how the seasons change so quickly. Here in the UK 🇬🇧 , autumn 🍂 (fall) is still a few weeks off. Thanks for sharing.
Northern Canada has much shorter summers than the southern west coastal which is more like the UK
@jcoats5529 it is odd how the UK gets to be warm and green most of the year round when we're sat around 54 degrees North. The gulfstream sea currents bring warm wet weather. E g. Dalton Peak and Bear Creek in Southern Yukon are only 60 degrees North but significantly different in climate.
People should just go forth in this life and be themselves. Youll end up where you're meant to be. Your life and work teaches this always. You're a joy to watch.
I have watched this guy living his dream for the last 5 years... in that time i have been living my worst life, getting fat, stressed, and living in a city i hate... an eye opener to say the least. i need to start making some changes.
🎉👍
Happy 5th year anniversary of van life !
Really appreciate the shares!
Stay safe, stay warm!
Thanks 👍
Just finished my work for today and sat down to relax with a glass of wine when this popped up. With hurricane weather going on outside, it’s a good time to be watching the great outdoors from indoors!
Foresty, Rocco and a good merlot! I’m all set!
Congrats, Foresty, on your 5 years! Here’s to 5 more!
Any man that treats his dog well. Is a friend of mine.
I appreciate the quiet of this post with the sound of a raven in the background. The absolute beauty of this country amazing me all over again everytime you send out the drone to capture a summit. Thank you.
This channel just make me happy, I don’t know why.

Great editing, and story telling. Love the new camera angles from inside the van. Even after five years of van life you still find fresh shots. Impressed.
Thanks so much!
Forest, you have such a keen eye for photography. All these angles you captured in this video, and past videos too, they don't feel like copycatting compositions from elsewhere. They all feel so well thought-out and sincere. Cheers, chap.
the set-up for the great drive-by shots is very much appreciated. thank you for all the care you put in your work.
Thanks for sharing look forward to seeing more of you and Roko’s adventures!

Five years of bringing first class video entertainment to us is quite an accomplishment. You should be very proud of your work, always top shelf, always best scenery, always great topic and content. You are definitely the real deal and I thank you for sharing your work with us. Warm Regards, Randy Wiley in Arizona, USA
Bro, this is exactly what I like to see in your videos! There is no need to speak when you capture these frames to share with us, I live and work in downtown Toronto, and the way you captured the stillness of the nature makes me feel good, thank you so much man
The silence you get at those places is to be appreciated very much :D
I enjoyed this quiet episode very much. Congrats on 5 years of mobile living. The Yukon sure is gorgeous this time of year!

Wow 5 years and I've seen every episode ! Always excited when I see a new Foresty upload - Thank you
Some very creative camera angles in this one! Tried your marinade once before but the beef came out tough, guess I don't have the Foresty touch 😥 The 5 year anniversary is wood, so very fitting the cozy woodstove is back in action 🔥
Step 1: Thumbs Up because it is always good
Step 2: Watch video
Mate, you're addictive in the best way.....and you still have that glass bauble! From Australia.
Congrats on the five years. I've been watching since when you were bike touring across the desert - it's been a long trip, and a fun one too. I have to say, beyond your ability to seek out some of the most spectacular nature scenery, that you've really developed from a 'home video editor' into something more like a 'cinematographer'. In other words, you really make great movies - and we get them for free. Thank you again.
I'm happy that I found your channel, I've already watched about 10 videos tonight. Very enjoyable. Thanks.
Thank you Simon. You take an old man like me to places I can’t go anymore.
Congrats on the five year anniversary. Thanks for sharing it with us and taking us along with you. I have thoroughly enjoyed your channel over the years. Thank you.
Thanks! Beautiful country, always enjoy the vids!
Alone in the woods by a lake, a soft fire, a good dog and some delicious food make for a relaxing day. I know there are hardships, but your videos help me along with the simple things in life.
Stunningly beautiful drone shots. Thanks
WOW there has been a recent upgrade in the video quality of your channel, but this video is a HUGE step up in quality. Both technical and presentation! Thank you for another great installment
