    As an indigenous person from Hazelton B.C. who now lives in Southern Ontario, Foresty catches the beauty of B.C. in a way that seems like I'm back home, right there, where I can literally smell the cedar, campfire smoke, the crisp mountain air that has its own unique scent.......thanks Foresty for bringing Home to me every week 1500+km away! B.❤️C.

      As an indigenous person do you mind if I ask what indigenous peoples perception of outsiders, of any stripe, coming to their communities to learn about the indigenous cultures? I am Scottish and live in Scotland, I have an interest in native american culture and history. Though I do worry that I would unintentionally offend or anger people if I were to travel to such communities for the purpose of self education. It may be seen as some nosey foreign tourist.
      Its hard for me to judge what is right and wrong behaviour in such circumstances. Especially as there is no such thing as a native race here in the UK. The concept is a little alien and hard to mentally grasp.

      @@aspielife9323 ---- I am NOT Indigenous in Canada, but I will give a few insights. If you are respectful and considerate, and do not view them as "tourist attractions" I am sure most will not mind, especially if you do not intrude in their daily lives. But be aware the Indigenous People have received a VERY bad situation in Canada since at least the 1800's and there is still a lot of resentment about that among them. There are Indigenous Cultural centers and excellent displays in many museums which is a good place to start, casual conversations if you meet an Indigenous Person in a public place would seem to me to be a good introduction. Tell them you want to hear their point of view. Be aware Indigenous Canadians and other Canadians do NOT consider themselves "American" in any title, Americans are USA Citizens, and the USA Gov't CLEARLY states that, irrespective of any "popular" or official geographical terms. Also, is it possible the Celts are the "British Indigenous People".............. ?

    • @aspielife9323
      @aspielife9323 Рік тому +3

      @@davidmarshall718 Thanks for the feedback David. I appreciate it. ^_^ The Celts would have been the indigenous people of the UK in a manner of speaking. I am not an expert but I will give my own half baked knowledge about it none the less. Hahah ^_^ There were indigenous tribes in teh UK but through invasion and migration of surrounding european countries/tribes into the UK and interbreeding they technically don't exist anymore. Though it depends what you mean by Celts. Some people use in interchangably with other peoples in the european continent. Its a very muddied subject.
      A famous example would be the migration and raids by the vikings into the UK. Thats one tribe of people that would mix with the local populace, now imagine that happening from every tribe across europe... Including the Romans.

    Rocko is the spitting image of my now 10 y/o male Jack Russel that I've had since puppy, both character and looks.
    The bullying when he hadn't had enough physical activity is so recognizable and was adorable when he was young, now that he's old he'll just be a bit grumpy until he's had a go with the ball. Luckily h'es obsessed with his football (or soccer for across the pond) which will tire him out quite effectively. The recharging station usually is a water bowl after which he'll be good to go 5 minutes after. Truly absurd stamina even at his age. I always tell people that they're essentially just working dogs in a much smaller package and fully agree with you that she'd tear the house down to the foundation if left alone with a 9-5 office schedule.
    Honestly in retrospect to me the golden age was when he turned 5 and mellowed down a bit, started listening and obeying to most commands: that's when the real bonding really began. Really amazing dogs if brought up well (which you seem to be doing an absolutely killer job of).
    Keep up the great videos Foresty

    You have it exactly right, Foresty. There are pros a cons to both a National Forest and a National Park. I'm partial to National Parks, but as long as a National Forest is being maintained properly and conservatively, I don't have any objection to those, either.

    I would love to see a "replacement planting" where they plant similar trees like they take out, and rotate in a longer visioned plan than just dropping pine everywhere like we tend to see in the lower 48 of the US.

    THANK YOU for keeping it real at 2 minutes in....! :D I kind of wish they'd leave a few trees sparsely inside the clear cut areas but I get it. Being a furniture builder I went down the rabbit hole on the "responsible forestry" thing - A lot more trees are planted these days than we hear about and forests/wood is a renewable resource when managed properly (which doesn't mean the government has to get involved), something most companies are aware of and practice as they want to continue to come back to areas where cutting had taken place decades earlier - We lose so much of our forests to fires as it is which makes no sense what-so-ever - Better to go in and selectively cut and clear on the regular. Even the ancient native populations managed their areas in this way as they were 100% aware of forest fires.... Love your content, man - You're still my favorite UA-camr

      I was hiking along a clear cut up near Little Sliammon Lake near Powell River. It had been logged by an Indigenous-owned company and they left some trees standing including a douglas fir that was MASSIVE. That tree and the others will spread their own seedlings among all the commercially grown and planted seedlings, creating some diversity on the tree 'plantation'.
