  • For every big fish caught, there are a million other missed opportunities.
    Roman made mother got t-boned, and deps 250 got hammered at Canyon Lake.

      One thing he definitely did right is recording the strike. That was epic.

    Damn that was gnarly. Soon and the bass thought it had the glide pinned against the surface WHAM!

    Wonder if that bass came up for the dragon fly but hit the bait instead...

    • @randykast87
      @randykast87  5 років тому +2

      The dragon fly was no where near the water and a 6-7 pound bass doesn't typically eat dragon flies - too much work for such a small meal. The fish followed the bait from the shade. I got it to commit next to the kayak with that last resort rod sweep.

      @@randykast87 got ya off subject from the swimbait... far as big bass eating dragon flys I see it all the time in the summer months where I stay .. I have a 8 and plenty of sixes and 5s or a dragon fly my friend pours.. you should check out his videos on his i.g basshole... he also custom paints baits for rago ..ufo.. and some other companies

    Got to lose the kayak and get a boat bud. More space and you don't got to worry about falling off the f****** thing with a big fish pulling you one way and you trying to counterbalance grab the net and just the chaos that ensues. You would have landed the fish had you had a boat with space to fight the fish and move around. But in your defense I totally get it and understand it's a challenge that you enjoy and like being in a kayak and it's different you can get into better spaces and places it's a lot more subtle and fun. To each their own but just know that loss could have been avoided. Cheers mate!!!! Tight lines!!!

      @@randykast87 I lost fish after fish when I started hooking costal steelhead. I taught myself to take a second & let the fish run while I evaluate things. I still lose fish, 2 in the last couple weeks with finesse gear.
