Thank you! Keep these memories coming 🙂👍
Imagine saying that in Brazil - please refrain from using whistles! Rmbr that, mud on football pitches, them were the days.
Very strong Ipswich team - every one of them an international (or soon to be).
Agree...was Mick Mills capped?..I recognise every name & face from I.Ts team ....commentator was a bit slow to realise about 'the whistle' ,as it clearly heard in real time..
Must have been one of David Coleman's last commentaries. Great goal by Channon in the Birmingham game as well.
Apparently his last football commentary came later that year, early in the following season.
@@duckjive1 Yes, the League Cup tie between Man United and Spurs in 81-82. I'm sure that it was on your channel that I discovered that stat!
A 0-0 draw would never be the first game shown now. I like the 3 match format which they returned to with the start of the PL in 1992 (2 longer edits & 1 smaller edit).
I like the fact that there's barely any waffle between matches. Shame they didn't continue with _that_ from 1992.
During the early PL years it wasn't bad to be fair.
@@markbunn4376 It was. Just because it's _maybe_ worse now, doesn't stop it being total shit then.
It meant there something special about 'your team being on'. ITVs Sunday coverage was good having a local match & also picking a couple from other regions.
The way its formatted now you can guess the outcomes of the matches in 'order of appearance'- I think there's still a lot of people that don't wish to know the scores in advance.
@@scherben8870 ...I think the first couple of PL seasons were ok ,now you see more of the match in the 'post match' summaries (!)- if they actually showed more of the game instead of Pre match handshakes ,Goals & 'controversial decisions' (replayed 3or 4 times), tedious interviews etc -we wouldn't need so much 'post match summary ',

9:30 Everton "the kings of 80s football".
Not quite - certainly in 84-85, and joint kings with Liverpool for a couple of seasons after that.
Not being funny Everton had a couple of good seasons it just belonged to Liverpool
Everton, were going to take some stopping mid 80's, Hysel ruined all that for them.
Helen Mattless so the season after Liverpool did the double and Everton was nearing its end as they split up . Everton fans always think they might have done something but Liverpool did they just carried on winning. That’s the difference and the truth. Everton wasn’t that good
