I was at Roker Park on that snowy November day. I remember how well Shaun Elliott and Stan Cummins played for us, especially in the second half.
Liverpool finished 5th, yet won the European Cup and the league cup. Back then they considered that a bad season!!!
They were ravaged by injuries in the last half of the season; just as we were in the first.

The caption was wrong about the 'Geordies' in the Liverpool team as David Fairclough is a scouser. Ray Kennedy was a Geordie,but arent Sunderland residents now called Mackems anyhow? Probably was different back then but still.
