Astonishing that the television station date caption was wrong.....this was most definitely the fixtures for the 6th September, NOT the 21st! Must be pointed out though that this edition of Match Of The Day was actually broadcast on Sunday the 7th as ITV and BBC swapped around for the first time this season with ITV's regional football shows going out on Saturday nights....it would swap back and forth again for the next 2 seasons.
I remember the free-kick controversy vividly and I was only 8 years old at the time when I watched it on this programme. All the boys in my class knew the meaning of the word "stanchion" on Monday morning at school!
