Maybe there was some extremely huge Jellyfish like thing that doesn't have bones and couldn't be fossilized. But I am just going off of what we currently know. The Blue Whale is the largest know living single thing. The only thing known to be able to get larger is a fungus colony but that is also a collection of living things and not a single living thing.
@@laboskie349 well actually we do know theoretically what the maximum size of land animals is depending on environmental conditions gravity o2 levels etc. for example blue whales are about as big as something can get in water and on land gravity severely inhibits the size of animals along with the amount of oxygen an animal can get from the air/ food prevalence etc
Blue whales today are actually much larger than any dinosaur that ever lived. But land dwelling creature are inhibited to grow larger now because mammals are endotherms & have to keep our bodies warm. It is argued that some dinosaurs weren't true cold-blooded but at the very least they used the warmer temps of their time to heat themselves to some extent. A whale is a mammal so you could say we have become bigger after all. So how do whales stay warm? Probably with all the insulating layers of fat.
Dinosaurs were 100% endotherms, and this has been agreed since the 90's, as many anatomical features simply aren't possible in ectotherms, such as limbs under their bodies and feathers, the only thing that limits the size of mammals is the gestation, while dinosaurs layed eggs which incubated in a short time, mammals have to carry their young for a long time, and the bigger the mammal, the longer it takes to give birth.

May I suggest something your channel should do? You should organize it. Like you should have comedy Tuesday or whatever day you want it. Music Monday etc.
For daz, O2 levels used to be a lot higher back in the day which helped insects grow to the size of a dog or a dino the size of a semi-truck. With O2 lower now, you get less bang for your buck, so size has to be smaller for everything
no they weren't. that was debunked years ago. oxygen levels are higher now than they were during the time of the dinosaurs. gotta keep up with the research.
Oxygen has no correlation on the size of animals other than, *possibly*, the size of Arthropods, as they breathe passively, rather than using lungs or gills to suck the air.
Part of the reason that we don't see megafauna anymore (except for things like whales, elephants, etc) is due to atmospheric oxidization. The level of oxygen in the atmosphere being lower now than then and changes to flora and sources of food and nutrition mean that the evolutionary need for being bigger is gone. Things like brachiosaurs evolved their height to reach the colossal treetops, but with such things gone, there'd be no need. Chickens are generally considered the only real direct "dinosaur" still alive. They're avian theropods, the same as prehistoric "dinosaurs" like archaopteryx and more distantly pterosaurs.

It was asked why mammal animals didn't get back to the size of big dinosaurs after 50 million years. I can argue that they did. Mammoths, mastodons, giant sloths, irish elk, etc. Even lizards the size of cars. It was most likely that mankind (the "caveman") hunted them to exinction for food inadvertently back during the last ice age. But some big mammal species also went extinct on their own due to changing environmental reasons.
I think they have a lot of other “circumstantial” evidence they can use to determine population sizes in the past. No way to know for sure of course but a far cry from an uneducated guess.

My guess on why dinosaurs did not evolve again: environment changed, dinosaur ancestors no longer in existence, random genetic changes didn't happen again(affected by the first two, I guess).
Humans evolved from the tiny mammals that survived the impact. With dinosaurs still around, mammals would never have had the freedom to be the dominant creature on the planet. We would still be small mammals maybe bigger, but not apes and Neanderthal. Probably four legged. We evolved the way we have BECAUSE OF A LACK OF DINOSAURS. Modern Homo sapien humans have only been around for 300,000 years. Humans ancestors have been around for 6 million years. That’s barely anything when you consider the dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago but before they went extinct, they ruled the planet for 180 million years and never even got close to evolving to what we are now. It’s wild to think about.
Crocodiles did in fact exist, but if you've ever interacted with or seen one eat you will know why. They eat whatever. Not dependent on specific food items as much as other animals alive then I would assume. I highly doubt if dinosaurs still existed humans would have evolved at all Mike, lol. The only mammals alive then were mostly small and I would assume it would be similar if they lived on.

We're in the process of a mass extinction, we've stopped the cycle of evolution (as far as we know), we are the only current species with the capability to evolve - through unnatural means. Who knows, if mammals didn't get the chance to evolve into humans the life on the planet would have been completely different - the possibilities are unending, we are extremely lucky to be here.
