hang in there! i had gastric bypass surgery 5 years ago started at 402 am down to 140. very little problems but lots of support from weight loss support staff.
I had the same surgery. Jan 23 2024. Was type2 diabetic and insulin dependent. My hospital sent me homewith no meds. I could not control my bowels or my bladder for 3 days at home. Boyfriend took me to hospital who the admitted my for 4 day. I was diagnosed with DKA diabetic keto acidosis. Been home now for 3.5 weeks still low energy levels. But getting better.
Bless your heart but I completely empathize! I had the same surgery Feb 2, 2024. T2D, high blood pressure, etc… I am down 36 pounds & I am beyond thankful BUT it has been the most overwhelming experience of my life. I have not felt good, nothing like myself. I have been dizzy since I came home from the hospital 6 days after surgery. I also had uncontrollable diarrhea, as in literally waking up in a pool of diarrhea. It is SO humiliating! Now I can’t get food down & it’s extremely painful to eat & drink. I’m having an endoscopy Wednesday. My surgeon thinks I have an anastomotic stenosis(stricture). I hope you are feeling better at this point! Would love to connect with someone who can relate!
@nancyann1187 Thank you! I am doing much, much better now. Unfortunately, I have to have my 3rd endoscopy since surgery because they think the stricture & ulcer(s) are back because it is so painful to eat. I'm still having a hard time finding foods that don't hurt going down or hurt when they hit my stomach. This time I'm having my gastroenterologist do it because he told me before I had my surgery(when I asked him if he thought the surgery was a good idea)that he wasn't a good person to ask because he only sees patients who have complications after the surgery. So I thought he may be able to help me better than anyone else. That being said I'm only 9 pounds away from my goal weight! I've lost 66 pounds since surgery(February 2nd)& 104 pounds from my highest weight so I'm really excited about that! I really appreciate your comment!
Wow I have no words I am glad you are on the mend. It was great to hear about your journey I can’t imagine how frightening it must have been Stay well you are in my prayers
Oh dear, it was so many months ago, where you girls made that video of the upcoming surgeries and whenever you crossed my mind i always came back to see what`s up...with no update. After all that you´ve been through, i´m so glad that you are feeling better now.
Oh I am glad you are getting better. Sorry to hear you had a rough go if it. Hugs and looking forward to seeing your beautiful face on you tube in the near future. ❤❤
Oh my goodness Leah, you are a brave and beautiful lady. So glad to get an update, thank you! Hope the worst is behind you now and you can feel better. We miss you two!
I hope you're well. I saw your video. Please keep us updated. I am looking to do bypass surgery myself. Alittle scared after seeing this. You seem like a great person. Don't worry. We all have struggles in life. After going down. You can only claim up from here. I look forward to hearing from you again.❤
Oh please, don’t let my situation change your mind! I think there was a lot that was just coincidental. I would actually do it again, it has changed my life! After a year, I am down just about 190 pounds! My world has changed for the better! I wish you the best of luck!!!
WOW, you’ve gone through a lot in the last 4 months post surgery. I subscribed because you’re really funny and seem sweet as well. I’m in the process of meeting all the professionals and having all the tests and things they make you go through before your surgery. Which is a blessing that they want those results to make sure you’re healthy enough for the surgery. Again, thank you for your video because it was deep down and dirty. lol 😂 God Bless you, I pray that the Lord watches over you and I look forward to you future videos. Congratulations for making it through all the huge bumps in your road, to and from the hospital. Which hopefully over now. Take care and I hope to see you soon with more updates. It’s amazing how you lost 100lbs in 4 months. That’s outstanding 🙏🏻😇🥳
I had my pre-op appointment today, my Surgery "was" scheduled for January 24th. The reason I say "was" is a moment when the floor gave way and I felt like completely giving up 😭 My Dr. Had seen that 2 weeks ago I was in the ER for my stupid gut issues and according to the ERs notes I was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 My Dr. Then told me that I no longer qualify for the surgery. I am sick to my stomach over it, had a panic attack and now wondering what to do with my fat self. 😭 I know that I have inherited all of my mother's illnesses and I mean even our skin cancers we've had removed were all located in the same spots! Here is the really sad part....my Grandfather died at 50 yrs. old from a heart attack and my mother has had a heart attack in her 50`s as well as having stents AND stents inside of stents. I am 58, I am obese, high BP, Diabetic and the one way that could have saved my life is not a possible anymore. 😭
Wow! Can't believe you had to go through so much! I'm so sorry! It's good to hear you're feeling a little better. Congrats on how much you've lost so far! It's amazing!
I am now one year out today! It was rough for a while, but it has truly changed my life! 180 pounds down, and I feel fantastic. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Good luck to you in August! You will do great!
Oh my goodness! What an incredible ordeal. So sorry you had to endure all of that, but glad to see you are on the mend. You are so strong & i'm sure your optimistic attitude is helping a great deal too. Prayers for you to continue to heal & recover 🙏 ❤
Oh my gosh Leah! What a ride! I'm happy to hear you're coming out of the bad parts. Here's to healing for you! As usual, you look beautiful, whatever your size!
@@LittlePeace2 I miss the maze and you too! Have you seen the maze this year? Leah sent an aerial view. It looks SUPER hard. I think they would have to come and get me! ❤ you ☮️

I'm glad you are on the mend and feeling better. Your story is terrifying! I've been watching many stories in this format regarding bariatric surgery. Yours is the first scary story I've seen. So thank you for letting us know that your story is not typical. What happened to you is the sort of thing that my sister is afraid will happen to me because she doesn't really want me to get the surgery due to her fear of negative outcomes. But I just feel like it's something I have to do. So thank you again for your story.
I can only imagine what it was like to prepare yourself mentally when you started this process. I also know you are an extremely strong woman which I've come to know since I have been following y♥u. Everything certainly happens for a reason. I wish you a faster then slow recovery from all of this, Leah. You look absolutely beautiful!
I'm so sorry you went through so much. It reminds me of when i went into respiratory failure due to Covid. I'm supposed to get surgery and now I'm questioning if i should. I'm still on oxygen at night
I think most doctors are going back to the bypass. I use to be on oxygen at night too...no more! No more blood pressure meds, no oxygen! I wish I had done it sooner! Good luck to you!!!!

By the way, is sleeve safer?
I’m confused. How were you eating food right after RY gastric bypass surgery? You should have been on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks after surgery.
I was, I was referring to that as food...LOL..it was my food
I was on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks then pureed diet for 2 weeks. I ate eggs that got backed up(in my book it specifically said not to eat eggs but I thought surely it couldn't hurt anything)& they made me go back to the liquid diet for 4 days. After that I was allowed to progress to a soft diet but I had a hard time finding foods that agreed with me & didn't hurt so I still did a lot of liquids. Turns out I had an anastomotic stenosis(stricture), an ulcer & multiple erosions.
Please know you are in my thoughts !
I suggest physical therapist to begin wrapping to move fluid. Blessings to you.
You are the day after!! Really! Did no one tell you about diet etc. If not that's a claim!
Sounds like the bariatric surgeon didn’t do a good job on your surgery 😢
Actually I think he did an excellent job, but there are complications that can happen. 2 years out, and 200 pounds down, I am very happy 😊
