I have been approved for the gastric bypass and am in the process of doing my work up. You did a great job on the video and your English is just fine. The information you gave is exactly what my Bariatric center provided. It is Not an easy way out at all. Much work has to be done by the patient before you are ready. I do not have a surgery date but am anticipating a date in Late October or early November (2023j. Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey. It is impressive that you are already off some of your drugs only a week postop! That means you are doing the work!
i am soooo happy that my videos have made their way to you. i am glad to hear that you're getting help. This process id not easy but in my situation, it saved my life. I am so grateful to have had the gastric bypass operation. I am now 7 months post op and feel amazing. I wish the same for you.
Thanks Sandra, I am so grateful to have done this surgery. The pre-op liquid diet was the hardest part. The rest gets easier with time. I don't regret it at all. Wishing you lots of happiness and health in your journey.
Out of all the pre-op & immediate post op video’s I’ve seen, this one is my fav. I’m having the same procedure next week, Aug 30th after 4.5 years of appointments (public system, long wait list & many appointments before you get approved & eventually get a surgery date). Next week is my third surgery date too as I’ve had flu recently with long recovery. But I really started researching WLS about 15 years ago. I had a lap band over a decade ago & that was removed due to a number of negative side effects including severe reflux & oesophagitis. So my weight just kept creeping up and up & in January I was the heaviest weight of my life & diagnosed w type 2 diabetes at age 53. I’m struggling on the pre-op diet & very nervous about how I’ll be after my surgery because I never anticipated my lap band experience to be so negative. Though my friend’s sister had a similar experience & then had the gastric bypass & everything is great now. I’m hoping to have an experience like yours with this surgery. Uneventful while being the best decision with favourable outcomes. I’m only doing this to improve the quality of my life & to extend my life. I’m guessing similar reasons to you. I have a daughter & 4yr old granddaughter. Thank you for sharing your WLS story with us. 😊
Thank you for watching and supporting my journey. How are you feeling? Hopefully the surgery went without complications. You're only 2 weeks post op so you're probably still dealing with liquids. It gets easier, I promise. Keep at it and THANK YOU for sharing your story with me. Keep in touch :)

My dr won't do that op. He reckons I could end up with a bowl obstruction later on. 🤷♀️ he wants to do a different bypass. Have you been told anything about that? I am so confused as what to do
What's the name of the surgery he wants to do? I was a member of the bariatric surgical team in our hospital a few years ago. I know some changes but not all. I'll try to help if you like.
Your Dr knows best according to your conditions. I was given a choice of gastric bypass or sleeve and I chose the Gastric Bypass. Trust in your Dr and remember that you have the power to fight obesity on your own as well. If they turn you down for surgery take it one day at a time and make small changes that will bring you big results. I lost 73lbs prior to surgery just by making small changes in my food intake and incorporating intermittent fasting in my life.

@@marissajoseph5638probably the sleeve. That’s the one they do most. I had the one she is having she wanted. I haven’t had one bit of trouble after all these years. 2005.
