- Novelist and free speech advocate Sir Salman Rushdie has told LBC’s Andrew Marr that both Islam and Evangelical Christianity are ‘trying to impose their censorship on the world’.
Rushdie, who was attacked on-stage two years ago, also said that 2024 is ‘a very bad time for free expression.’

Actually I've seen them the only violence was from the police towards the students. Plus there were many Jews who attended the protest speaking out against Israel's actions but of course that isn't mentioned. In fact most of those protesting were Jews themselves. I’m confused. It’s been suggested the original cause behind the Columbia university protest, was the launching of Global centre of study,,by Columbia university in association with Tel Avia university, with 40 students enrolled. Admission for Palestinian students is -allegedly barred.
In response to this, the student’s original letter of demands, requested Columbia university divest themselves from this joint venture, as the students considered this to be the re-introduction of Jim Crow’ into educational spaces, via the back door, and that these alleged circumstances have become obscured along the way..
