The Last Of Us might be the best PlayStation game. But like the video said, Uncharted 2 is the most important. Uncharted carried the PS3 era, and the first half of the PS4 era. It’s PlayStation’s best franchise. Its fans aren’t toxic. I’ve seen about every Uncharted game being someone’s favorite on their list. I hope one day we can go back to Nate, if it’s a remake of the first game, a reboot, or a sequel with Cassie, and Nate. @@BraydenCannon Yes I do. Uncharted had more impact on the game industry, and films than God of War. I get it, God of War is great! But… Uncharted reinvented action games.
As someone who loves both UC2 and TLOU, it's tough for me to pick one. I think I lean into the gritty nature of TLOU more, but there is no denying that UC2 was what initially blew me away on the PS3. 4:04 I truly believe Lazarevic is the best boss fight in the entire series, and I've always struggled to understand why people dislike it. All good boss fights, in my mind, should have a core logic that the player can learn, which once understood, reveals a clear path to completion. A great boss fight provides this whilst maintaining a sense of challenge, or 'upping the ante' between waves. It means that, while you understand what's required, accomplishing it requires finesse and practice. it can't be "cheesed". For a final boss, It should also incorporate the lessons and mechanics the player has been taught throughout the game. Lazarevic nails these principles. His boss fight requires you to combine traversal and marksmanship while being hyper aware of your surroundings at an intensity that surpasses any moment in the game prior. The 'Yeti' boss fight (and to an extent, the chapter 'Cat and Mouse') earlier foreshadows this moment really well - almost as though it's a practice run, but now the enemy is more fierce - and armed. It also asks you to make quick decisions in the midst of combat. This is a usual gameplay aspect of Uncharted - strategically positioning yourself around a combat zone and staying light on your feet to avoid aggressive enemy advancement and provide flanking opportunities. With Lazarevic, you have to do this while making additional choices: Should I look behind myself as I run and risk making a traversal error or should i look ahead to ensure I make distance but risk losing track of his position - which could land me next to his shotgun at point blank. Should I stop and try to catch him at this sap or should i make more distance and shoot when there's a surer chance of him being hit by the blast? All the while trying to manipulate him into the correct positions - make too much distance and hill take his own route, not enough and you'll be in the danger zone. Everything is a split-second cost/benefit decision that only becomes more heightened on higher difficulties. It's an incredibly tense and tonally fitting payoff to a thrilling game that feels like a step up from the Descendants chapters in Drake's Fortune. As for most annoying - it's Nadine. It's a fight which feels like it takes control away from the player. In trying to establish that Nadine is an expert in martial arts, it makes the players actions inconsequential to the level. It invites you to believe you have agency but then wrestles it away for narrative purposes. Your timing doesn't matter, your correct inputs don't matter, your hits will not land and your dodges will be futile because narratively Nadine is supposed to win and be established as the superior fighter. I believe there are much better ways to do this that don't 'cheat' the player, but then I think boss fights (at least human 2 human boss fights - the helicopter in Lost Legacy was great) were clearly one of the biggest flaws of the series post-Hennig.
When Uncharted came out it wasn’t immediately the power house it’s known as today. I remember that cover with the shotgun. It was the game Xbox and Halo fans had to acknowledge was decent. Playing through the series for the first time on PS5 with Nathan Drake Collection and Legacy of Thieves Collection and couldn't be more excited. Games that stand the test of time as well as these do is nothing less than pure excellence.
I can see that possibly being true, because 2009 was the year when PS3 turned the corner and went from being clearly behind Xbox 360 to suddenly overtaking it. And Uncharted 2 was the biggest game of 2009. It led the shifting of the tides. It also came out on my 21st birthday, so I have many fond memories of playing it, including the online multiplayer. It was such an incredible technical showcase at the time.
I highly doubt it was the biggest game of 09, 09 had juggernauts like MW2 that exploded the internet. What is the actual reason that PS3 outsold 360? cause for all intents and purposes the 360 is the better system on paper.
@@Nitroh-It was the highest rated game of 2009 and still is Sony‘s best rated game ever. @KxxK-e5m well yeah that makes sense, U2 is a great sequel, i must replay them again, just with they'd come to PC. I always thought The Last of Us was the best rated Sony game? That's why they cuddle it so much still to this day.

But you‘re right that TLOU definitely became the more current thing, it’s currently at the forefront, which I personally don’t mind but I always found UC to be better, it’s a good middle ground between storytelling and fun. Regarding the PC ports, they should definitely port 1-3.
This take is spot on. Uncharted 2 is what made a bunch of people switch or buy PS3 consoles and it is the title that gave Playstation its identity as the place for "AAA cinematic story-driven exclusives." Gameplay, story, visuals were all great in this one as well.
I haven't played the 5th installment yet but surely uncharted 2 had the best opening scene of all of them and full of action all the way. I'm always overwhelm. Very cinematic indeed. It's not only a game but a full movie as well.

I played the Nathan Drake collection during covid for the first time and uncharted brought me back to gaming. I had a blast playing uncharted 2-4 and lost legacy. Only game I couldn't play was uncharted 1 so I'm hoping they remake it to modern day standards one day!
I prefer Uncharter over The Last of Us. I miss this game sadly.
I used to skip school to complete this game so many good memories with uncharted 2 in particular
The Uncharted series prided itself as Cinematic masterpieces … the story, the characters, settings, pace, and engagement. The banter and trophies… Exceptional
I’m not even going to lie this game and assassin creed 2 change my life the story, the game, the place and the artifacts that you was able to collect while playing the game was so unique I wish I could wipe my memory and replay it again. I have played all 4 part at least 2-3 times each specially during pandemic time
Zoran Lazarevic was a great villain. He was menacing and a perfect opposing force to the hero.
The best game I’ve ever played. Without question
Playing through the series for the first time on PS5 with Nathan Drake Collection and Legacy of Thieves Collection and couldn't be more excited. Games that stand the test of time as well as these do is nothing less than pure excellence.
Uncharted 2 was the reason that I bought a ps3 in 2009
It was the last game I played on my SDTV!
Loved Uncharted can’t believe they abandoned it crazy 😂 fun action adventure immersive and good story
At least Sony gave the Uncharted series a happy and proper ending.
@ hilarious Sony ended their best franchise just to have a good ending 😂
Now this is a series that would make a killer remaster!!!
It blew up the internet back then and won countless game awards, MW2 might have sold more (multiplat) but UC definitely turned the tide in favor of Sony. Everyone wanted to play this, it became the poster child for prestige exclusive game and how a sequel should be done.
@KxxK-e5m well yeah that makes sense, U2 is a great sequel, i must replay them again, just with they'd come to PC. I always thought The Last of Us was the best rated Sony game? That's why they cuddle it so much still to this day.
@@Nitroh- I was referring to the Metacritic score. I don’t know if and which has more GOTY awards.
I can remember getting this and beating it over the weekend. A good game takes you and makes you forget about life for a little while.
I keep wanting to go back and play the trilogy especially. Will have to do so over Christmas. Uncharted 3 is a gem as well
I used to have nearly every single cutscene in this game memorized. I still do. That's how much I've played it.
Before Uncharted there was Syphon Filter, how could u forget that series? It was better than Socom, it's a criminally underrated franchise
I pray to god that Naughty Dog continues the Uncharted franchise. I came in extremely late at The Thief’s End and was BLOWN away.
Just beat this game for the first
time yesterday… I really enjoyed it. It holds up well.
I just hope that one day i can play all uncharted games on a pc......
Lezaravic was my favourite boss fight! I’ve played Uncharted 2 too many times to count. I finally got the platinum trophy this week!
One of the only series I would and have replayed multiple times all of these were good story action gameplay 🔥🔥🔥
This was my first ever trophy and platinum trophy. I got this game bundled with my PS3 Slim with Cod 4. All my time was put into this game though
I haven't played the 5th installment yet but surely uncharted 2 had the best opening scene of all of them and full of action all the way. I'm always overwhelm. Very cinematic indeed. It's not only a game but a full movie as well.
One of the best games ever created. What a story, and what a series. Nothings come close since.
Astonishing. NGL this is the best piece I've ever watched here on IGN. Kudos to you Sir!
Alright hold on put some respect on the car chase in uncharted 4. That was thrilling. And I wouldn’t say they „gave up for Lost Legacy. They combined the train sequence with the car chase brilliantly
I am currently playing through the collection. Just finished this game yesterday and starting the third today.
I played the Uncharted series late. So when I beat the 1st one, I already had a copy of the 2nd and started in right after. Such an improvement! I like the supernatural elements at the end and wish that 3 and 4 had done that too
Incredible timing, just saw the director behind Astro Bot say this is his favorite (followed by 4 then 1)
It's what made me choose Playstation over XBox (to begin with) back in 2009. Saw a friend playing it and I could not believe how good it was.
Playing through it right now, it's my favorite of all the uncharted games. I wish the Nathan Drake Collection would get a remake.
Bro I swear any Uncharted game with the word "thief" in it's title will be amazing
The best game i ever play..its a linear game but its the best of them all..the gameplay..all the action..the story line..and the character development between nathan ,elena and sully.its just amazing..the dialogue are amazing...such a memorable game overall..as an adventure i never bored about it
Lets never forget about Little Big Planet. Both Uncharted 2 and Little Big Planet changed Playstation forever...
Uncharted 2 will forever be my favourite game ❤️ it was one of the first games I played when I first got a ps3 in 2009 absolutely love it still to this day.
I just finished Uuncharted 2! I’m starting Uncharted 3 when I’m off work!
I completely agree, I sold my Xbox 360 when I saw the trailers for Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 to buy a PlayStation 3 and I don't regret it at all, excellent console
I hope that they Don't change like other open games..not to do sub missions and find items to upgrade weapons or find food..just straight forward..that what makes them unique from other games..that's why it's great.
I was a Wii and 360 owner, and a combination of ps3 slim in 09 and this winning game of the year made my 17 year self save up for a ps3.uncharted 2 is a masterpiece.
Uncharted 2 is the best uncharted game in my opinion and yes i have played all of them. Uncharted 2 just has an amazing story, pacing is great and the stakes are raised pretty high. I love this game.
My sixty years eight dad watched me play the whole game. Even asked me when I was gonna play so he could watch!
Uncharted is the best. One of my favourite game series of all time. I wish they would continue the series with more spinoffs a la the Lost Legacy.
The best in the series for me!! The train intro sequence was so good!!!
The 2nd game is the longest uncharted game out of all of them and the best one.
Uncharted 2 is a masterpiece And this is how you do a sequel
Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 5 are the GOATS🔥🔥🔥
Loved UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection on Steam, but as a PC player only, I just hope one day for a remake of those old titles (on PC) to be able to fully understand and immerge in it. Of course there's emulation... But I prefer to buy my games.
I have the collection on PS4. Praying for a port one day so I can play it on my steamdeck.
I play more uncharted more then I play the last of us. I like the last of us but uncharted has a special meaning to gamers
I do wonder if gamers today can appreciate just how groundbreaking this game was when it released 15 years ago. It's still my favourite game today. Nothing beats that first playthrough.
