How magical is this song with her voice!? It's like the wind
When my son born in 2007 I decided that I wanted to sing to him a different music to help him sleep. On the first night at home, I started to hum to him one of my favorite songs, The Minstrel Boy. He fell asleep in a couple minutes and I kept singing this very same song every night over the years. Even now, he asks me some times to hum this song to help him sleep. I would love to hear The Minstrel Boy sung for such a soothing and beautiful voice like yours.
I am an older man, been through a lot of hurt in my life. Grown numb to everything around me. But that chorus at 2:18 instantly brought tears to my eyes and a holy shit to my lips. Thank you, thank you for helping me to feel...anything after so long.

Same here. In my case it is severe chronic depression for many years that has robbed me of almost all of my emotions. I literally don`t *feel* alive anymore.
But sometimes, there are these moments with goosebumps and tears like right now, when i listen to this stunning version of this iconic song, brought to us by the
amazing Malukah. Her Voice is like no other i have ever heard in my life. I`ve been following her since "The Dragon born comes" first was released.

So many people do covers of this song yet so few have the soul to do it justice. Thank you for the best cover of this song on the internet.
The disturbed cover was actually the first time I had considered that covering a song doesn’t need to be the same as the original, it was eye opening and has influenced the type of music I enjoy to this day, and to say you did this version of the song justice is an understatement
What about sweet dreams are made of this by Marilyn Manson? Also a very nice cover
Mad World by Gary Jules is a great cover song and its entire mood is changed from the original by Tears for Fears.
The award for most dramatic change of a song in a cover has to be Hurt from the very late Johnny Cash.
The Original from Nine Inch Nails is filled with tension, even some aggression, you can hear that Reznor really sound like someone in a struggle between wanting to commit suicide, but still wanting to live.
Cash on the other hand is very calm, at that point in his life he knew and accepted that he doesn't have much time left, seeing him closing the Piano at the end of the Video is like Cash saying "That's it, I'm done, this is the end"
@@Soonjai Ironically, it's probably one of my favorite Johnny Cash songs. I love it. I actually heard that version before Reznor's. It's crazy how tone can take a set of lyrics and completely changed their meaning. I still prefer Cash. Even Reznor has admitted it's not his song anymore after Cash covered it.

To add some more irony: The Quiet Version that NIN did for "Further Down the Spiral" is the superior version they did as well, and that's despite that the main difference really is that pretty much all of the terrorizing background noise got removed.

[minor Ori And The Will Of The Wisps spoilers ahead]
I finished replaying Ori And The Will Of The Wisps the other day, and the final scene with Shriek in the epilogue cutscene hit me like an emotional freight train. I went and looked for a UA-cam video with all the cutscenes to show my wife, and somebody in the comments mentioned the line "Hello, Darkness, my old friend" in reference to that scene. Days later, this shows up in my suggestions on UA-cam. Malu singing _The sound of silence_ right when I needed to give that song a listen? I had to click! Superb interpretation (as always with Malu) and excellent decision to film in black and white. And then the second voice harmonising right when Malu sings "Silence like a cancer grows"... that hit me like an emotional freight train again. Even Disturbed's excellent version couldn't do that. Not to that degree.
Thank you, Malu, for such a powerful moment. This is why I love your music.

I've been listening to this song since I found my parents 8-track of Simon & Garfunkle's Greatest Hits when I was a child back in the mid 70's. It's always been one of my favorites. Malukah did it justice.
That is because the most powerful and memorable songs tell a story in simple words.

Returning to this a year later. The raw guitar and signature Malukah a cappella made the emotion behind this unique. On a related note: those two things make good substitutes when you don’t have the hard, projectable voice you’d need to do a real “Disturbed” cover (more like a rough Adele). Like, I’ve seen the cover by that little girl from years ago and going by that video, her voice would probably be perfect for a cover, now.

Unbelievable. This is quite a hard song to cover. There are hundreds of musicians making covers but until this moment i had only two versions that were done really good for my opinion. That was Disturbed's and Passenger's. Now there are three versions that i love. This song is something you must feel deeply and let go through you to make the cover worth loving. That's like Hallelujah and Jeff Buckley you know. It is a great gift to do such things, you are extremely talented. Maybe it is not something that you can measure like beat per minute or smth but that's something that people can feel with their hearts. And for me that's the worthest. Thank you for sharing your art and please go on :) Love your music since 2012 ^^
