    News of the Times Episode 245 | 1855 - 1935
In today’s history compilation, we look at four doctors of death:
    00:02:08:16
Dr William Palmer -the “Prince of Poisoners” 1855. Referenced by Sherlock Holmes, Dr Palmer loved to gamble thereby requiring large amounts of money. Palmer worked his way through acquaintances unfortunate to have been waylaid onto his path, friends who he watched die excruciatingly, and several family members.
    00:23:58:00
Dr Smethurst 1859. Married Dr Smethurst starts an intimacy with a woman of independent means. Bigamously marrying her, her health starts to fail almost immediately, but not before she conveniently signs over all her possessions before dying.
    01:02:45:14
Dr Pritchard 1863. Pritchard, referenced as the “Scottish Palmer” was always in search of women and money. Mysterious fires, with insurance claims, and even more mysterious deaths followed him.
    01:51:48:21
Dr Buck Ruckston 1935. Ruckston, historically referred to as the “Jigsaw Murderer”, was popular with his patients and was an extremely jealous man. One day, he just snaps. What evolves is a bloodbath as he attempts to dispose of bodies. This case featured some very m0odern, in its day, forensic investigation.
Four cases of doctors who left a trail of death and destruction is today’s episode of Doctors of Death - History Compilation.
    Hosted by Robin Coles.

This is my first ever last Sunday of the month compilation video, and it did not disappoint!! What an ABSOLUTE treat!!
I think William Palmer was a real mummy's boy!! If his mother hadn't enabled him by begging his earlier employers not to prosecute him for theft, he may not have turned out the way he did!! It was VERY sad situation for his victims, their families, and his only living son, William!! I hope young William did well for himself!!
I'm now truly addicted to your videos!! ❤👍💞🤣

@@newsofthetimesBy the way, I discovered that William Palmer's only surviving son by his poor wife Ann, died in April 1926, outliving his murderous father!! I think he was 78 when he died!! I'm VERY glad William Jr didn't come to a sticky end, especially at the hands of the Father!! 💞👍❤

How very kind! Palmer - we do like the palmer case. He is still remembered in the UK - thank you Sherlock Holmes! The Ruxton case was by all accounts an absolute bloodbath. He clung on to being innocent for ages and really seemed to think that his patients and his respected position would save him nearly until the very end. So sorry brenda - have no idea at all why - we have not bene doing any backend work our end. We did not receive an email about yoru comments. so frustrating! We know you know these stories well 😉. there were rumours that Palmer's mother had paid a person to sit the exams for him! Smethurst - there were questions whether he was a "real" doctor. Pritchard was actually supposed to be a clever man, medically, and Ruxton was supposedly quite beloved by his patient community.
So very sporry agaon. We are having issues of another sort at the moment and having real difficulty finding a real person to speak to. 😔

noooooo - we did not really write or say Elisabeth??? 🫢How very odd would that be? We never mention queen E - occasionally - very occasionally - Queen Anne - but never Queen E. We do apologise if we did indeed do that. we can only assume we published it around her time of death and just missed it on our spot checks. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. 🙏
