After having 1100s and 750s back in the day ,I jumped on a friends sv 650 and was very impressed, plenty of power ,light and handled well .
They are surprising little bikes for sure :)
I've bought one SV650N for 1000euros with 20kmiles on it. changed the shock (Yss MZ456) and the fork springs. With Pirelli Angel GT tires it's a brilliant bike now. Load's of fun on twisty roads. I drove lots of massive overpowerd literbikes befor and i guess this one is more fun to ride than it was with most of them for no money.
I agree, lots of fun from a smaller bike. Thanks for your comment :)
I run Castrol Actevo semi-synthetic oil. My SV1000 and my wife's V-Strom both love it.
Another bike I want...
On the cheap to whip around the city
Super value, and lots of fun, have a new video coming tomorrow on another cheap city bike 😁
Hahaha i love the "big old bitch" part
Great bike. I was reading 100,00 alone have been sold in the UK. I could be corrected on that. It's funny how Suzuki brought it back in 2016 because it was such a hit worldwide. However the new iteration SV650 has ABS, LCD tacho. However that fantastic V twin engine is essentially the same, as this bike here, but with some refinements.
Yes I hear great things about the more modern version! Would love to see them do the same for the SV1000 too - They updated the engine in a couple of future bikes, but no news on a modern SV1000 that I know of yet 🙃
Think I'm buying this bike tomorrow. Found one in Cali, 2003 w/ only 10,000 miles on it, PERFECT condition and maintenance records. He wants $2500, hoping to get it for $2000. Would be my first street bike purchase, ever.
Good luck! and stay safe :)
I like the tank cover
Good looking bike but that rad is weird
It does look far too wide for the bike I agree!
Where can I get one of those tank covers? I just recently purchased a 2003 SV650. It has a small dent and scratch on the tank and just wanted to cover it up.
Best advise is to join the SV650 FaceBook page, and ask there, you can find all sorts on these pages, or check on eBay :)
What kind of wind screen is that? I’m a fan of the tank cover as well.
Not sure on the windscreen, it was on there when I bought the bike?
I too love that windscreen!
tell me where did you get such a cover for the back seat?
I bought it used from FaceBook Marketplace for the SV1000 and then I fitted it to the SV650 as they are the same at the back . They are very cheap from China though if you need One - www.aliexpress.com/item/4000510024929.html
Where did you get that windscreen?
Sorry it was on the bike when I bought it so I'm not sure where it came from.
Are these reliable? I'm looking at one, excellent condition, clean title, 8,400 miles, $900 USD.
Jared Shelton good ass deal
Absolutely reliable. I own a 2007 sv 650, just changed oil and filters regularly and I still love my bike (with 60000 km on it).
Did you buy it ?!
👍
just good a sv650 where the best place to get a bellypan and rear seat cowl
I have found things on the FaceBook group pages, or the forums, and I have even found things from AliExpress! just do a Goggle search and look for images, then some options should pop up. Good luck :)
I have this very bike !
Good choice :)
I mean this exact one. I recognised the number plate
Small world I guess :)
Hated the thou, loved the six fifty..
Yeah a lot of people rate the 650 better than to 1000 :)
Personally I love a big bike, so prefered the 1000
Ever since I went into that first corner on the thou I knew it wasn't for me. Glorious motor yes but wow the thing wasnt nice to throw about. My 650 was the pointy s version and only gripe was the uncomfortably high footrests
I have to agree, the 1000 is a big girl, and not very "flackable" and the 650 is much more fun in those situations where you want to hoon it round the Country lanes :)
Budget Bucket List Cars And Bikes the thousand gets much better when you sort out the suspension and swap the front end with a gsxr. I've found it to be just as "flickable" as the 650. Swap the exhaust for a single can to drop weight and it's a fantastic bike.
wide and ugly radiator... hate liquid cooled...
Yeah it is One of the things which really ruins the look of the bikes :(
I think it looks fine
It depends on the style you like..the wide radiator personally is one of my favourite parts on this bike :)
Is there a kit to put a vertical one on to better hide it?
