    Got my test soon so will get an SV also. Looked at different options but this is the best value to start out with I found. I really want a Street Triple but that's a few G's more so I'll work up to it. Well done on the pass man, ride safe.

      Yeah for a first bike it's not too aggressive but still has enough power to have some fun on it. Good luck on test day.

    Thank you. I'm currently considering the SV650, the SV650S and the DL650 V-Strom. I hope to find the right compromise between wind protection, sitting position and ground reach.

      @@MotoEcosse yeah I'm enjoying it, first bike for me. Think I feel the same as you regarding some bikes when riding you feel alot of weight on your wrists. In my lessons I'm on a MT07 which feels like what you were explaining so nice to see there's a way around that.

      Yeah I trained on a Bandit which was great. Then to go from that to clip on handle bars was weird. Glad I tried clip ons but definitely not for me.

    Hi there. I have a question: in terms of the second-hand market, are bike miles the same as car miles or is there some ratio (a bit like dog years to human years)? And, in general, is there some mileage sweetspot I should be looking at in the second-hand bike market in terms of best bang for buck? Thanks.

    • @MotoEcosse
      @MotoEcosse  2 роки тому

      You'll find that bikes often have a lot less miles compared to cars. Some car's will have 80, 90,000+ miles and run absolutely fine. It's not that often that I see bike for sale with 40,000+ miles on it. It's usually tourer style bikes that have the most miles. I normally look for a bike with less than 10,000 miles on it but buying one with more is absolutely fine. Obviously the more miles it's done the more you'll have to look at the mechanical side of things and service history etc but providing they have been looked after, bikes will go for tens of thousands of miles. 🤜🤛

    Is there a reason you went for the clip on version ? I passed my mod 2 on sv650 with standard bars, loved riding it. Totally agree about the power it's the perfect step up from a 125 really manageable I always felt there was plenty of power but it never felt intimidating. Also did you not like the bandit? I'm in the process of looking for my first bike on a budget and bandits seem to be the bikes most available and in my price range.

    • @MotoEcosse
      @MotoEcosse  2 роки тому +1

      I did all my training and both mods on a bandit and it's a great bike. I just wasn't keen on the weight of it. I'd be fine now but at first I was wanting something a bit lighter and preferably with a fairing so I went for the SV650S and changed the bars. Gotta admit I love the torque of the SV. 🤜🤛

    No, its not. You said yourself "Slow maneuver stuff i find dificult" That's the best test if a bike is good for you. Can you do a comfortable full lock turn? Can you ride it with 2 miles/h? No? Than the bike is not for you. The SV is far too heavy and bity for beginner and too fast. There is a reason why there's A1,A2,full A. Build your skill.
