@@Art-zs6sl nothing fancy...I think I have cheap eco-power servo.. the dig unit doesn't need a lot of torque. If you have a spare servo lying around... it should do. :)
Perfect timing! Getting ready to install the DIG in my Pro. After watching, I forgot about the servo horn. VP 24mm horn ordered! Thanks for sharing this video!
Agreed we are here to learn how to set the rig up we need a good how to program radio video and a how to set up overdrive servo this info is what most of us are looking for and that info should be easier to find
Dig Units were more popular about 7-10 Years ago. I'm glad the Capra brought it back in "style". 😉 It is a powerful tool, like you said. Very advantageous. I'm glad Vanquish came out with their own for the VS4-10! I know it will be good. At some point, I'll HAVE VS4-10 Pro! I'll want that Dig unit too. Carmine ✈🚂🚙
More dig units have sold in the last few years than ever before. The market was small before and while it may have been more common to see a rig with one compared to one without, there are far more running them now.
Well that's good. I guess I just don't see many outside the Pro Comp Scene... Which never hits Arizona. 😞 Either way I look forward to being able to get one.
Appreciate you sharing, don't know if I'm going to go with this set up yet. My VS410 Pro been performing very well with the new hobby wing AXE System 2300 KV, the drag brake is awesome . I love this system. I've had no issues, and the performance is just outstanding .
This is like adding another tool to your vehicle, it really expands it's capabilities. I have a dig in so many of my rigs now that I almost can't stand not having it!
I've done the dig install and I have a bearing left over ? I cant seem to find where it goes. Did you have one leftover as well? I think its from the output shaft in the leftover plastic case ?
When you were talking about how the DIG engages, it sounded like you were taking a DIG on the Capra version. Yea... I hate that I have to rock it a little to switch between DIG modes. Hence I barely use it.
Many other dogs suffer from the same issue but yes. Dig is such a powerful tool when it works properly. It transforms a trail truck into a totally new animal.
Hmmm...That bearing appears at about 4:55 into the video. Came from the back half of the transfer case. Looks like back half of DIG case does not require it.
So..... No place in the instructions or your video does it say anything about having a bearing left over when you are done. I went back and watched the video and sure enough you had a bearing laying on the table when you were done too. Having extra parts always makes me wonder if I left something out.
I have a full tekin setup in this one also. 3100KV ROC412 and an RX4 I have another with a Holmes Puller Pro 2700 and a Mamba X that I really enjoy as well.
Josh, I would love to, BUT... With my Futaba 4PLS on my VS4 and original Dig, my dig servo always centers in a different spot, and I’ve cooked a few tower pros. I blamed the servo, until I swapped out a traxxas servo, and did the same thing. I then did it with my FlySky and it never wobbled with my tower pro. Any blues so I can upgrade this VFD ?
A $160 dollar servo for the dig alone!! Jeez! Why? Anyone have some other options on what else would work that makes dollar sense, not just because I can sense. By no means do I want something so cheap its just going to fall apart, but I do not need state of the art for a dig servo. Thanks guys.
Honestly, a RTR steering servo will do the job just fine. The dig servo doesn’t need much at all. 150oz/in is plenty. The only thing about nicer servos is that the don’t burn up when in a stall as easy.
Can you please turn down the VOLUME at the very start of your videos? Its blasted way to loud compared to your voice, thus i turn it up to hear you. When another of your videos start to play i get scolded for it being to loud. Thank You!
Just installed my dig unit in my VS4-10 Pro.. thank you for this... Calibrated and running like a champ with zero issues. Incredibly helpful!!
What servo did you end up using?
@@Art-zs6sl nothing fancy...I think I have cheap eco-power servo.. the dig unit doesn't need a lot of torque. If you have a spare servo lying around... it should do. :)
Thank you so much! The vs4-10 pro is my first kit and you have been an immense help. Got my first dig set up in my first kit with your help
Thank you for directing me to this video for the programming instructions. I've been struggling to find this info for days.
HARLEY I FIGURED IT OUT AS FAR AS RADIO PROGRAMMING HAD TO LOOK AND LISTEN TO THE VIDEO ABOUT 11 TIMES BUT I GOT IT BRO 💯👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Great video, thanks. I have a question, does it work for Vanquish VRD Stance?
Did you ever publish the follow up ‘dig techniques‘ video Josh?
I use the dig function in my full sized jeep all the time :)
It's extremely powerful for those that can see where they are useful!
Perfect timing! Getting ready to install the DIG in my Pro. After watching, I forgot about the servo horn. VP 24mm horn ordered! Thanks for sharing this video!
Got this today and diving into the realm of dig. This rig is just gonna be fun!
dunder mifflin??? I love that!!!
DongJoon Lee I know anyone else think it’s Ryan Howard giving us RC tutorials.
How dare you call me a Ryan! lol
Harley Designs I can call you fire guy? Thx for great vids. I’m putting order in for vs4-10 kit soon.
I hit sub a soon as I saw the shirt! Great video, I look forward to watching your other videos!
It would have been great if you could show us how you programed the Radio channel selection and switch selection etc🤔

Sweet how-to. This will be my first dig install. -"Angry" Dave
Nice! May have to try one of those out! Great how to video Josh!

7:45 my rear part wasn’t pre assembled and there are no explanations in the instructions about how to build it (as it should have been pre assembled)

Do you have a video on the Futaba 4pm setup for a winch and dig on the vanquish 4-10 ?
wow. these would be great for racing then switching back on 4x4 like for the twin hammer race. cool. Thanks for sharing.
Happy New Years Josh.
Great video even with all the “shaft talk” 😉🤣
As always, awesome products from vanquish and awesome how to information 👍👍 that truck 😍
There's such a thing as too much shaft talk and a fella oughta be aware of it. lol
The Sick Horse Ranch you hit that on the head 👍🤣
Looking forward to your video on how to utilize the DIG unit. Know you are busy...LOL
Will this dig unit install into a stance?
What Vanquish transfer case are you using please let me know thanks and love the Channel
Will this fit in the vrd? Or will it be too tight?
It’s ok to run without the batter tray? I was worried about the chassis flexing!
Looking forward to this upgrade!
Totally fine! Even without it the chassis is more rigid than almost anything else.
Harley Designs thank you.
fantastic. 58 grams gone!
Josh, Can we use a micro servo to operate the DIG?
It is possible, you would need to create your own adapter for the servo mount though.
@@HarleyDesignsInc Understood. Thanks.
You dont need that bearing at the bottom left of the screen?
Hmmm...That bearing appears at about 4:55 into the video. Came from the back half of the transfer case. Looks like back half of DIG case does not require it.
Do a video on screen of the radio walk threw 😂 thanks buddy my finger thanks you too

I'm looking a building a early 90s 2 door tahoe rc and was wondering if you new where I could buy one if at all?
I don’t think that body is available.
Do you feel there's still a need for over/under drive if choosing to go with a dig unit?
Awesome video! I just got and SCX10 II Blazer and was thinking of adding a dig to it. Would you recommend the axial unit?
Absolutely, but you will need the standard 3-gear style dig unit. But it is an awesome tool to have.
What motor and servo are in this rig? I just got one and seeing what I need for this version as I have the 1st VS4-10 and its a full Tekin set up
I have a full tekin setup in this one also. 3100KV ROC412 and an RX4
I have another with a Holmes Puller Pro 2700 and a Mamba X that I really enjoy as well.
@@HarleyDesignsInc That's what I saw in the other rig and was just curious. 3S or 4S? Also what servo?
I run both 3s and 4s but both of those motors are best suited for 3s. Servo recommendation is Futaba S9177SV personally.
When can we expect to see the VFD Dig show up on the website
In stock

I've never seen a radio not center to the correct position. I'd clear the model and start over. Something seems funny with your programming possibly.
Harley Designs totally agree, just can’t see anything at all.
Got any run videos with the dig installed ?
I’ll have a full video showing dig uses and maneuvers.
i hope they are in the stock in the near future.
btw: what/who is Hurtz?
They were in stock last month.
The name came around long before I was involved. I don’t know the full origins of it.
As always you ROCK
Too bad you can't have a 4 position dig/transfer case. The 4th position being rear drive only for better donuts.... 😂😂😂
Just turn the transmission around so the dig unit connects to the front wheels. I think dig is pointless so I used one for selectable 2wd 4wd
Will the overdrive gear for the transmission work with a dig? ... install video for overdrive gears? ~;+}>
Yes they will work the exact same, I'll try and get an install video done soon.
I guess what I should’ve asked is... which gears go where in the transmission and then I can do it all at once! ~;+}>
Will the dig work with the 20% overdrive?
Yes, exactly the same.
