I had ShinHan recommended to me as a rough equivalent to Holbein! Not sure how true this is but as watercolour is my usual "thing" then I guess any half-decent brand will do for me. I ordered 24 pack on Amazon but am waiting for it to arrive from Europe. Can't wait to get started though!
I did own a jar of shinhan years ago, and I remember thinking it was decent. I haven't tried any other colours though. But I have read positive reviews! I hope you are pleased with your set! Have fun exploring the medium! 💛
What a good video. Just got the Holbein Gouche for Chistmas. I am really looking forward to try them out. Have got Holebein Watercolor and find them very good. It is great to hear about different brands before buying any. This way one could safe a lot of money as you are doing all the work and I can choose which on is best for me 😄😘. Thanks a lot!! 🤗
Awesome! You are going to have a blast with those. I am so glad to hear that, that’s exactly what I was hoping to do. ☺️ I bought a set of Holbein watercolour this past year, the colours were really interesting! I have to play around with them a bit more… I’ve been planning. Ghibli painting with them. 😉💚
A really helpful video, I haven’t used gouache for many years but I think I may have to look at buying some new ones! Also thank you for sharing info about the recommended pad that works well with gouache .. I will look at getting that too. Great video thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful! I've really been enjoying how fast it is to work with. Any student grade watercolour paper will do. I just mention brands that are available and affordable in my area. 😉👍
Thanks for this. I hadnt seen the wRoyal Talens in jars. I live in Berlin and found a starter set CMYK+white for €17. How do you like painting from jars as opposed to tubes? I would love to see you wlpaint with these. Can you recommend any of your videos where you used these? Thanks!
Actually I use them all the time in combination with my holbein paints. I really like them! Great price! Where did you find your set? The shop in Berlin where I bought mine had sadly closed. I'll try to make a video just using these paints... I'll have to see if I can get a tube if white somewhere. 🤔 Thanks for watching! 😊
Probably yes! But there might be some problems with the shipping (it can be pricey or take a lot of time). Try searching by the name of the brand + preferred marketplace. There is also a chance to buy it from a third-party seller (like a person how has an ability to buy or import them somewhere) but it can be a bit more risky than through a somewhat moderated marketplace.
Check the Description Box for a list of the Materials mentioned. Thanks for watching!

I just posted a short using these paints!
Holbein gouache with Holbein color pencils and Holbein tape. They make good stuff
I'd really love to try their pencils! 😊💗

What do you think of Windsor and newton gouache? Have you ever tried it?
Yes, I have! It's a very good Gouache! The art store near me had Holbein at a better price, so I opted for those. 😉👍
so nice, new friend ❤❤❤

Thanks ! I will try I guess.....
Yes, but I'm sure there is a good brand available in your area! Imports can be expensive. Is Holbein an option for you?
Yes ! Holbein is one of the best ! I already have them...
