Loretta Lynn had such a beautiful voice and still has... This song was written by Loretta Lynn herself .. such a brilliant song
Loretta is the GOAT. She speaks her mind in every song she wrote. There will never be another like her. She has been a part of my life since I was very young. My mom was the assistant Texas Rep for her. My earliest memory of her is mom finally letting me go in the dressing with her at one of Loretta's concert in Houston. I hid behind my mom in total awe of being that close to her. Loretta got up and grabbed my hand and said "Get over her with me girl and lets get a picture of us together." OMG I kept thinking Loretta touched me. Then she sat back down and handed me her brush and asked me to brush the back of her dark long hair. I have to say that that little 8 year old was trembling the whole. there are many beautiful memories of Loretta. I now i'm sitting her in tears thinking of those times.
Hi Don, this song is from Loretta's 2004 album 'Van Lear Rose' produced by Jack White of The White Strypes. Much like Johnny Cash went outside of Nashville to work w/Rick Rubin on his 'American Recordings', so did Loretta on this album. The album was critically acclaimed but of course received no support from Country Radio. While there is many good songs on this album, this one is my favorite, so great request Earl. Long Live the Queen, Long Live Real Country Music!!!!
Wow that's awesome I have never heard it before but it is awesome she's still got it and u was definitely right in the beginning
Great reaction! Loretta Lynn is my favorite. This is definitely based on her life. Everything she wrote she lived.
May she rest in peace. 🙏💓
@Debbra Trueax Amen on her passing and wanting good things for her from here forward, whatever that may look like. What a treasure she was and an inspiration she will continue to be.
Lyrics with Loretta are always on point
You're right.. I'm also an older convertee to Country..
Great reaction, Don! Thanks!
And you thought that Miranda Lambert’s Gunpowder & Lead was tough….Loretta Lynn paved the way for other women to be OK with being tough. A true inspiration. I don’t know if this was a true situation for Loretta & her husband, but can you imagine how gutted he must have felt if was was the inspiration for this song? My beloved Mother-in-law used to blasted these songs from her radio for man to hear loud & clear.
I don't believe this wàs inspired by her husband, 'Doolittle', he had already passed away several years before this song came out. However, it could have been previously written or based on some past event I suppose.
Love it ❤
She's still fiesty as he'll. Never was afraid to drop a truth bomb no matter how blunt. It's true for somebody Don.
This was a new one for me! I loved it. Thanks dude 🎸🔥☮️❤️👵🏼
I never heard this song before and immediately started relating it to family history and genealogy. That's because I have worked on the family tree for years, but not like this. IMHO, Loretta can do no wrong.
A song called Portland Oregon from the same album recieved some airplay in my neck of the woods,,but not as much as it deserved
Never heard the song on radio in Ga. But do remember seeing the video for 'Portland' on CMT.
What a fabulous song by one of the greatest ever. It punches right at your soul. I had only heard it a couple of times before but this time with headphones --- you're so right about that Dan --- and now I'm going to put that album on my playlist. Thanks Earl for the request, Mike for the background, and Don for playing it!
I'm glad to see spellcheck get somebody else and not just me. Why does it not recognize the name Don.
@@mikebarnett9012 I think I must have typed that one all by myself --- sometimes fingers and brain disconnect!
@@terrywoodyyc I'm lucky when mine do connect.
RATED X by LORETTA LYNN, written & sung by LORETTA
Can you react to Loretta's song Here in Topeka? Excellent song written by Loretta.
Are you thinking of "One's on the Way"?
Yes it did happen it was a song she wrote it was put in a shoebox which later was found by Jack White
You should listen to Women's Prison from the same album. It's also a great song from the van lear rose album
