I wouldn't call this the most evil man in Hollywood, compared to the casting couches of the directors and producers who solicited minors. He was just a man of his time and to think communist countries weren't trying to sow chaos in the US back then is naive. I am sure they supported both sides just like other nations are doing now in the US.

Considering the child raping cannibals (not conspiracy theory by witness testimony) that populate Hollywood, Brennan was not great but no where near as evil as most of the recent Hollywood bunch. As for his political views, there was a Communist agenda. I didn't believe it years ago, now it's obvious and you have only to read their own playbook. Joe McCarthy for example, was obnoxious as a personality to many people, but he was basically right about his accusations. In recent years this has been hard to realize as I gradually found out the truth.

He was not wrong about communism. Read the book "Color, Communism and Common Sense" by Manning Johnson. Read also "Witness" by Whittaker Chambers.

People today would be surprised just how many people felt just the same way as Brennan did about the political situation back then... I always feel it's sad with hatchet jobs like this looking at issues 60 years in the past through the lens of today... People born well over a hundred years ago had different standards right or wrong they lived by back then. It did not necessarily make them evil... The 60's was a complicated period politically and socially. Not everything Brennan said about outside influence shaping events was wrong.

Walter Brenan was a great actor, I don't care about his private life; that was never a part of the deal, and as long as someone isn't committing a crime, their beliefs and ideology are theirs. Unless we're actual friends that have to deal with each other what he does outside the profession of acting is none of my business.

an Oscar is special. just say he was the first to win 3 Oscars (and stayed alone in that category for decades ,like Willie Mays, was alone in the '600 HR club' for decades. ) 3 Oscars .nobody cares if it's a 'supporting' role in hindsight. an Oscar is an Oscar is an Oscar .while we're at it, Barry Bonds, if not for PED's, BB would still be loitering in the 600 club. it's truly amazing how much better a ballplayer Mays was than Bonds and so many others, while we're at it.

He was right for protesting the removal of school prayer and Im with him 100% on the fact that the Beetles suck😂. Look at the state of the world today. No one is afraid of God so mass shooting after mass shooting. Also my father was a pastor and I still remember him sitting me down and explaining why our family voted democrat. He explained democrats are for the little guy the small Business man. If my father could come back to life and watched the DNC he would say son your generation is in trouble.

Growing up the Real Mccoys was on tv, He gave me the creeps. He was a good actor in other roles. His politics, involvement with the John Birch Society, his racist views,
communist conspiracy views are disturbing to me. That he danced a jig at the assassination of King and Robert Kennedy are offensive. Birchers did not like democracy, they believed Eisenhower and Nixon were communist plants. They radicalized the Republican Party. Today's Megas roots are in the Bircher movement. Does this make Brenan evil? It doesn't endear him to how I believe.

It rather sickened me that Walter Brennan was Roman Catholic. Most Roman Catholics were and are accepting of black people and their needs past and present. Going back historically, even back over one-hundred years, a number of priests and nuns took beatings and were even murder by standing up against the KKK. As well, Walter Brennan's involvement with the John Birch Society speaks strongly against Roman Catholicism.
