oriri ona looks aren’t everything, those v8 bmw (n63 engines) are living hell, very unreliable. Jaguar is good but repairs are most likely going to cost a bit more than Mercedes. Mercedes isn’t the best looking imo but it still is nice and it holds up very well still.
i disagree with how they said merc doesnt have the best look.... when u want a luxury car... u dont want something that looks like a muscle car. u want want the mercedes has
Same story then and now, bmw is for the people looking for a more sporty car and Mercedes is for the people looking for a more luxurious car. People keep comparing these cars and choosing which one is better but neither of them are better, it’s just preference
It's important to note that the E class was re-done in 2008. The Jaguar is also new. The BMW was designed in 2004. I'd like to see how the F10 BMW 550i holds up to the Mercedes and Jag.
MB all the way. We bought an 05 S430 in 2006, and we love it. Handles great, wonderful V8 and has brought us through winter after winter of snow and ice.
Because time travel hasn't been invented. BMW was late bringing in the f10, so for the longest time the E-class and Jag were compared to the older 2009 BMW.
There is a 2010 e550i that keeps up with the merc new body and this being a winner here, the f10 is way too good to compare here it will destroy these two, being their category
theseventhday Actually, if they HAD, the BMW probably would have dropped to 3rd place. The much maligned e60 may not have great looks ( thanks, Chris Bangle! ) but, still had hydraulic steering and didn't go all numb like the f10 era.
I love the new jaguar xf. They really fixed themselves with the xf. The interior is like an italian sports car. High qulity aluminum. Polished wood. Handcrafted double stiched leather. Alot of technology. Easy to use touch screen interface and the back looks like an ashton martin. Thats a HUGE compliment.
Once upon a time, when my father bought his 420S(that was far in the 80s), he was thinking about similar BMW and Audi. Then, the salesman asked him: "How many BMs and Audies you see running after 10 years of use? And how many Mercedes? Don't believe that's a difference between quality and the rest"? The same example lives on for nowadays. MERCEDES RULES!
That 550 only had the auto trans not the sport one. It's fastest car there. It's just not optioned. I would know. I have on 08 550i m sport with all the performance goodies. It's amazing.
Update: My wife drives both MB's and the other day she said she noticed that the brakes seemed like they were pulsating. I did some diags and found that the brake booster vacuum line tap on the intake manifold had a leak. I went to the dealer and ordered all of the available parts. The parts came in but the plastic fitting itself was not there. I spoke to the lead mechanic and he said that he has seen this problem before and if the fitting is bad you must replace the manifold at $1,600.
I'll take the Jag for a number of reasons. 1. It looks beautiful 2. It has the coolest interior because of the auto-rotating A/C vents, the pop-up shift nob and red heartbeat pulsating push-button start. 3. The Jaguar name and rarity. (seriously, how many Jaguars do see compared to BMWs/Mercedes?)
1. Mercs and Caddys have the best suspensions, chassis, and room space. (What counts the most here.) 2. Mercs and Lexus are the most reliable of the group. 3. Jags, audi and Mercs have best styling in that order. 4. Audi, Merc, jags have best interior styling in that order. But again, the most important thing for this series is not how it drifts on the track, but its everyday use. So here, suspension, and reliability are the most important factors.
I agree with you. The only problem I have with these luxury vehicles is the use of weird interior color combinations. Personally, I believe that black is the best color for interior design.
Yeah, the 2009 E-350 started at $52,000 while the 2010 E-350 starts at $48,600 Sedan and $48,060 for coupe. Mercedes-Benz marketing department thought that reducing the price would be start as the launch of the all new E-Class came during a world-wide economic slow-down. Also this is the first time that I can recall the coupe or CLK-coupe costing less than the E-Class sedan which it is based.
I think they need to say what tires are on each car. My E550 Coupe with the same wheels came with PZero Nero All-Season. No wonder braking and handling numbers don't match the BMW with Sport Pkg (and probably summer tires).
I would go for the Mercedes. The BMW 5 series is also a fabulous car. Great shame Chris Bangle has left BMW. He is a wonderful designer. I really like the look of the old Mercedes sportscar classics. This new E Class is extremely comfortable and well made.
That's not what i was trying to say. The 550i outperformed the XF in acceleration, slalom, and skid pad, and considering this is a SPORT sedan comparison, im surprised the BMW didnt beat the Jag since it topped the Jag in nearly all sport/performance catagories. But my real question was; what did you mean when you said "Jagaur XF wins by default"? Im confused as to why you would say such
Looks are a personal thing... personally I bought the E550 in big part because of the looks, but also because of performance. The ride of the mb is smoother and can be boring for some bmw fans, although the V8 in the e550 is a truly mighty machine for regular highways. If you can afford the e550 you can afford the e63 amg or the m5, but if you're not a track race person it's just wasting your money. Bottomline it's a matter of personal choice and financial capacity. Good luck!!
I thought the Jag was a nice average out of the 3. But seeing as how everyone in this comment section will never own a top of the range car and they're so pathetic they'll squabble over semantics I'd personally be happy to own any and you can really tell these manufacturers are doing their best.
YESS!!! inurik is completly right. nowing the fact your driving a v8 that redline at 8000 is just amazing. i never had that feeling, but it would really feel awsome. i have an s500 and it has a HUGE 5 liter v8 but it is not no where NEAR as loud or powerful or sexy! as the bmw v8s
that Bimmer is beast! I dont understand why Edmunds placed it behind the XF and E-class, yet on a recent Car and Driver comparo, the BMW 5-series came out ahead of both the XF and E-class??
Recent E Class Mercedes Benz are truly wonderful cars. The new one would be No.1 for me. Lexus are also amazing. I have so much respect for the Japanese.
Well your block which is the aluminum part of the engine you can see from under the car above the oil pan. It is probably faulty if it hasn't been replaced. Some Nikasil engines last but usually no more then 170-200K miles. The cylinder lining was Nikasil plated which does not react well with higher sulfer fuels. There was a recall on some of the engine blocks which BMW replaced with the M62 Alusil block.
The Jag is nice bit both the interior and exterior styling are just way too gaudy. Ive always admired the BMW E60 5-series for its ability to combine sport/luxury/modern tech features. But it seems Mercedes has introduced a fair winner into the game. This new E550 is truly astonishing. Hopefully it wont be long until BMW retaliates with a new 5-series that kicks both these cars asses
Did you read the title? It's called EURO-CLASH for a reason. The CTS is an American car. I would argue that the Audi A6 belongs in the video but not the CTS, since it's comparing Eurpean cars.
haha +1 for you too. It does look similar to an M5. My uncle in Poland has a 2001 or 2002 S320 CDI and he loves it. In your 740 do you have the Nikasil block or was it replaced with the alusil? I cannot remember if the only V8's that were effected from the high sulfer fuel back in the day were from 94-95 or previous years as well... You'll probably know better then me :)
Different people different tasties. My opinion in interior design is: 1-st BMW, 2-nd Jag, 3-rd Benz. I dont care about speed and handling - they all are very nice cars.
I respect each of these three cars. I would go for the new E Class as it has the nicest comfort and is the most classy. The Jaguar is a fabulously beautiful car, so with the right engine (comfort and good looks), those two cars are the best here. Of course if you want the driver's car, you go for BMW. The new BMW 5 series has now got a better interior than the one here. I genuinely respect all three of these cars. The choice is up to the individual.
Damn was really thrown off by the 2010 E550 with no head up display option, but love the way it sounds with an exhaust set up compared to the E60, currently in the search for one so my 550I wont be so lonely lol
all three are quite good... i've done my home work and i can none of these is a true winner among other one, all three are good cars, it really depends on you which one of want... As for me i'd go with the bimmer...
id go for the jag or the benz..maybe the benz because of the interiors..but with the portfolio option in the jaguar it would be more difficult to decide!
Unfair Comparison! The Mercedes is the new and redesigned E class while the Bimmer model at the time was in the process of being phased out for the current one.
Looking back 8 years later the Mercedes appears to have aged the best
Sam O'Brien what are you saying the 2006 to 2009 E class looks better than that bmw
The e60 looks way better than the w212.
@@jonathanmoga5188 not true lol ure blind idiot
You must be blind
oriri ona looks aren’t everything, those v8 bmw (n63 engines) are living hell, very unreliable. Jaguar is good but repairs are most likely going to cost a bit more than Mercedes. Mercedes isn’t the best looking imo but it still is nice and it holds up very well still.
i disagree with how they said merc doesnt have the best look.... when u want a luxury car... u dont want something that looks like a muscle car. u want want the mercedes has
That's why he said "it's subjective".
Meaning opinion.
Same story then and now, bmw is for the people looking for a more sporty car and Mercedes is for the people looking for a more luxurious car. People keep comparing these cars and choosing which one is better but neither of them are better, it’s just preference
my dad has the XF and oh my god it's a nice ride so smooth, you sometimes forget your in a car... until you look outside of course.
I love the E class, very comfortable ride and in my opinion is a great looking car!
I know this is old but I just gotta add my 2c.
Having owned a 550 sport and currently an e550, the e550 gets the nod hands down.
looking back about 12 years later, the merc has aged the best, and isn't found in scrapyards yet.
The w212 is the last real Mercedes-Benz
In North America the E60 is the only vehicle with a manual gear box
Mercedes for all my life!!
That was an excellent video. It's obvious that you really put some time into the editing.
If I had to pick, I'd get the Benz. Beautiful interior. Good fuel efficency. Decent performance.
The video is not only good but the description you have provided is also very useful.
Now acquiring such cars is no more a dream, but a reality.
Love the Mercedes Logo... and the car too.. :)
Why are you comparing a new body E to a older body 5
3 beautiful cars but BMW is gonna be my fav for sure! :D
I think the e class is the best looking coz its design aged well way better than the bmw or jaguar
bmw looks the best with timeless design
One Love Mercedes-Benz!
I knew the 2010 E-Class would take it. It truly is the benchmark executive car.
own a 2008 550i.. im biased.
Same
You choose best car. Congratulations
XxMetalGorxX me too!
It's important to note that the E class was re-done in 2008. The Jaguar is also new. The BMW was designed in 2004. I'd like to see how the F10 BMW 550i holds up to the Mercedes and Jag.
Great comment
Mercedes is the best!!
personally, i think the e550 looks best, very sharp styling i should say.
this MB is the best looking here....
and the e class of 2017 is shit
BMW looks better
Are all great looking sedans I have the XF but I think that that BMW is the most timeless looking
Bmw is best
It was old 8 months ago. I remember being in the 10th grade when the BMW 5 came out. That was 6 years ago.
Gawd, right back at ya.
BMW is not crappy quality MB is just more lexurius but BMW is more sporty
car
good for me! always loved the merc and it emerged as a winner! thumbs up to the e class!!!:)
Still like the Bimmer better
MB all the way. We bought an 05 S430 in 2006, and we love it. Handles great, wonderful V8 and has brought us through winter after winter of snow and ice.
why is the BMW a 2009? shoulda used the F10 one not e60
Because time travel hasn't been invented. BMW was late bringing in the f10, so for the longest time the E-class and Jag were compared to the older 2009 BMW.
E60 shoulda been a 10

i'm in LOVE with the new E-Class
WOOOW
The bmw 550i.2013 is the best in it's class, with 450bhp and 500 torques, it it kills all the rivals. V8 twin turbo is all you need go BMW go!!!
What the fuck did that matter in 2009 when this was posted?
bmw blows those...
i dont get why people gave this thumbs down... i agree completely but i think Jags have always had that style where it isnt as out there as other cars
Yi would never but a bmw better a mercedes or audi
1. Merc
2. Jaguar
3. BMW
I have taken on one of the Mercedes E550, I must admit that the seats are comfortable, and the interior is nice. :)
It’s clear Mercedes is one of kind car that delivers every time.
This is a hard choice for my personal winner. I love the E550 Benz and the 550i BMW equally, both are outstanding at opposite catagories.

That was a huge help. Thanks!
Just type E60 on UA-cam
Then type merc lol you'll see wich car looks best! E60 all the way.
oo cool. ty. i should check it out. if it is not the alusil block, i should replace it to the m62 alusil block, yes?
E550, 550i, XF. Such creative model names. Such inspiration.
1. Mercs and Caddys have the best suspensions, chassis, and room space. (What counts the most here.)
2. Mercs and Lexus are the most reliable of the group.

how did you do it can you share with me , thank you
Click more info. They still don't list the pricing though.
I agree with you. The only problem I have with these luxury vehicles is the use of weird interior color combinations. Personally, I believe that black is the best color for interior design.
Y not the 2013 550i??
Guy Costello Do you see what year they made this??
Since I was a kid sitting in the back seat I see the silver star shines under my father's Arm,,,,,,,,,, and to this day still shines..................

@NottinghamForest22
Do you consider this vehicle the new BMW 550i just curious to see if you have any clue about BMW ?
The Jaguar XF is the best car here. They deserve to sell well, but wouldn't want them to become ubiquitous like the other two.
I like E550 even more than new 63 AMG. Has nearly the same power - but with much better economy. And it's so sexy as well. WOW.
I think they need to say what tires are on each car. My E550 Coupe with the same wheels came with PZero Nero All-Season. No wonder braking and handling numbers don't match the BMW with Sport Pkg (and probably summer tires).
Just recently picked up a CPO 07 530i. 5-series FTW!
I would go for the Mercedes. The BMW 5 series is also a fabulous car. Great shame Chris Bangle has left BMW. He is a wonderful designer.
I really like the look of the old Mercedes sportscar classics. This new E Class is extremely comfortable and well made.
i just recently bought the mercedes benz E550 estate version its extremly relaxing inside
I have to go with the Jag. I absolutely love the new XJ and XF models!
The Bimmer looks awesome at 2:16
That's not what i was trying to say. The 550i outperformed the XF in acceleration, slalom, and skid pad, and considering this is a SPORT sedan comparison, im surprised the BMW didnt beat the Jag since it topped the Jag in nearly all sport/performance catagories.

2011 550xi Msport blows those all out. 400HP and 450lbs of torques twin turbo and 8 speed automatic transmission. Any questions?
Looks are a personal thing... personally I bought the E550 in big part because of the looks, but also because of performance. The exhaust note of the xf🤌🤌
I thought the Jag was a nice average out of the 3.

Do the V8 models really sell in the USA?
I think people in Europe buy the V6 diesel versions that aren't available in the USA.
The front end of the Bimmer at 2:16 looks awesome. Not sure which i think is the best looking overall, though.
I am such a BMW fan, but this time, I rooted for Mercedes. Just look at that beauty.
I see alot of haters gave you thumbs down for your comment but don't worry I clicked a thumbs up to save you.
Recent E Class Mercedes Benz are truly wonderful cars. The new one would be No.1 for me. Lexus are also amazing. I have so much respect for the Japanese.

Real men drivives Jaguar XF. Classy yet modern. Brilliant.

not to forget the rear end looks like an aston martin and that's good thing!
howmuch horsepower got the 550i?
i like all three, but my pick would have to be the E-class. (for now). Ill reserve full judgement until the next 5-series is released next year
Did you read the title? It's called EURO-CLASH for a reason. The CTS is an American car. I would argue that the Audi A6 belongs in the video but not the CTS, since it's comparing Eurpean cars.

Jaguar= Cool
Mercedes= Luxury
Bmw= Sporty
1-Mercedes
2-BMW
3-Jaguar
Thank you .
i may have told this to you already, but we Armenians just have the best automotive taste; period. EVRYONE in my family loves Mercedes and BMW
I am going to go for the Jag it won around 56 awards when came out and won car of the year!!!
I respect each of these three cars. I would go for the new E Class as it has the nicest comfort and is the most classy. all three are quite good... i've done my home work and i can none of these is a true winner among other one, all three are good cars, it really depends on you which one of want... As for me i'd go with the bimmer...
I still think the previous w211 E-class was a more impressive car than the w212 E-class featured in this video.
id go for the jag or the benz..maybe the benz because of the interiors..but with the portfolio option in the jaguar it would be more difficult to decide!
Unfair Comparison! The Mercedes is the new and redesigned E class while the Bimmer model at the time was in the process of being phased out for the current one.
@phantomloita What are you talking about? The s6 is almost fifteen grand more than all three of these cars.
Mercedes Fansss !!!!
@MDIVISIONRULES why by the bmw to start?
