Bro. Nice car. I have the same. However, get rid of those rice mod stickers man. Looks terrible. That car is a sleeper….
It’s only a sleeper if you want it to be a sleeper I think he doesn’t want it to be that
The stickers actually look good atleast it’s not spammed all over he’s going for a stock car European version from what I can prospect
The stickers look tacky
😂😅😂
Riced out
I have a 2016 and LOVE IT TOO! Once gas hit $5.19, I was like "Oh Well". Still passing cars everywhere I go!
Life is too short to worry about gas prices
I also have a 2013 550 and completely agree it is a sleeper. Can’t tell you how many Camaros, mustangs, chargers and challengers I surprised by gapping them. Also fellow Michigander
Yo! I just got one 3 weeks ago! Love it! I gapped a VQ owner super hard on the interstate 🏆
@@Mike-hh3usyo how has the car been reliability wise I’m interested in buying one in a few weeks
I too live in michigan and love my 550 xdrive
Did you end up buying end I'm interested as well @@617_RL
I have a 545i. I know it doesn't have quite the power of the f10, but the power delivery and handling is amazing.
Bought a slightly used '22 M550i last Nov., and love it. Yours looks better than the current ones. Nice video!
I love my 2011 550i, RWD. Rated at 647HP, over 540 at the wheels. Just hit 85k for mileage. I replaced my coils, plugs, HPFPs as well. Runs like a dream.
😮show me how… I’m modding my 2011 550xi with 114k
@@sagethegodvk look up Heatsync performance. Tons of mods. Recommend E30 mix, catless downpipes, Alpina Turbos. Also have XHP stage 3 transmission tune.
How’s the reliability kinda want one seen one in fb for 2011 8.5k
The reliability depends on who you ask. Some people have not had good luck. Others have not had any problems
@@392hans9 my word of advice. Make sure the car hasn't been neglected by previous owners. These engines are like a trophy wife, you pay more attention to them and give them what they need consistently, the happier you will be.
Some key things to look out for.
- High Pressure fuel pumps. One on each bank.
- Coil packs.
- Spark Plugs.
- Fuel Injectors.
- Timing Chains.
- MAF Sensors.
- Turbo Cooling lines.
- Turbo wastegates and impeller.
- Differentials ( RWD especially)
- Thermostat and Water Pump.
- 3000 to 5000 mile oil changes.
- Valve guides and valve guide seals. (Order 2 tubes of Forte Seal conditioner to add every oil change. I have no valve guide seal issues since I've done this.
- Upper and Lower Oil Pan Gaskets.
- PCV valves or crankcase hoses.
I'd consider replacing all of those if it's over 100k in mileage and use 5w40 oil to help with oil consumption since it's very hot and it's forced induction.
Hope this helps you out. They are a fun car to have when taken care of. They can be a nightmare if not.
Looking to get one right now. Got two on my list with miles between 55-70. I already leased a brand new 2011 535I when they dropped and I loved it. Now looking for a second car to buy and this was the car I was into. Gonna mod the shit out of it. Thing is a beast.
You are so right! I love my 2011 550I and replaced the same parts and one front drive axle. also have the JB4 tuner, it rocks!
How many miles does yours have and how's the reliability been?
I just bought a 11
Unbelievable video. Good work. In both production and the car
Looking good man. Great video too. Hope you’re having great luck with it.
Coming from car guy my self I had manny different cars am taking manny different cars
7 years ago I bought 2013 550i rear wheel drive
I have to say it’s one of The Best cars I ever had and probably will never sell it.
I just did valve seals on it my self. It’s best looking car on the road complete sleeper.
I love driving it 👍🏻
I Love my BMW 550i. Best car ever. 2012 I purchased in 2022 with 24k miles. It’s super clean, white and I have driven it across the USA. Best comfort and class for the buck.
Hey man I love this car also I also have a 2013 550i and I love the color deep sea blue metallic is just awesome. I did run into a little problem with my engine I spun a rod bearing it messed up my engine. I need to get a engine rebuild so since that happened I plan on rebuilding the complete engine to where I want it 700+. Good luck and keep up with the content thank you very much
approximately how much will it cost? Like the whole rebuild?
I'm curious about the rod bearings on the n63? I mean I have the n62, and the flaws were addressed to the point most diyers can do any repair on that engine in their driveway, but it took some time from production to getting those tools available to public. Every BMW owner needs ISTA, IMPA according to model.
Purchased a 2016 550ixdrive earlier this month, 445 horses with 480lbs torque N63TU engine. Beautiful combination of powerful performance, style and luxury. I like the mods you did.
Hope you didn’t buy it in Jersey cause i was supposed to buy one in Jersey test drove totally monster and allowed my Ex girlfriend to talk me out of buying it then when i made my mind up to get the car it was gone i am still heated man. My wife says I have un-natural relationship with my 2011 BMW 550i (f11) Touring, she may be right but I truly enjoy driving and maintaining this car (w/50k miles on her right now) - Jb4, Sprint Booster, BBS Wheels, Android Head unit and REDLINE in the motor and trans, etc … Time to hit the Autobahn…!
Nice 2013 550i any issues with the N63 engine???? I heard its so prone to overheat, etc.
I would atleast go after the N63TU engine but man that a great deal & looks like it was well maintained by previous owners.
Enjoy the ride!!
Hello I know this an old video but I just got a 2012 550i xdrive with 50k miles. Thanks for telling me the mods to make it even better

Got also a 2011 550IX, and love driving the beast. Enjoying doing cosmetic upgrades and slowly modding her out!
How long have you had your car? I'm thinking about buying a 2012 with 120k miles. Ive heard those v8s are notorious for problems so I'm a little weary of buying a high mileage one but it's been taken well care of

@@strangeclouds7 that’s not bad i got my 2011 550i GT with 139k miles only issue is that it leaks but i don’t mind fixing it since i bought the car for $4.3k
Appreciate for makin a video while walking around the car not like others like just sitting in the car telling some sh#t which is so boring😅🤣🤣
I love your enthusiasm, I'm waiting on the used car market prices to get back to normal. The 2014 to 2016 550i are going for over $28,000-$37,000 with 50k miles and up. INSANE!!!
Is that actually a bad price?
For a 50k 550i not bad considering they were $73 new depending on options. I just saw a 14 with the N63TU in Ohio for $15k
@@AutoDad what's the reliability of the 2014+ ?
I here it is lower than the N63. No proof though. More hp out of the TU

M5 is so expensive… that 550 is my dream car !🙏🏻
Any bearing problems?
Do they have mood lighting?
I owned this car and liked it a lot. It was my 1st BMW. I have no regrets and became loyal to the brand from that moment forward. The car can be very well mannered one minute and a complete bad ass the next. It is a very versatile car that does everything well; however, even well maintained, mine still had problems. I have no complaints because I knew what I was getting into. Advice from a former f10 550i owner and BMW fan boy: Great model if you don’t mind working on cars and/or have a good mechanic. They have to be maintained so if you’re not into maintenance it may not be the best car for you.
hello, quietstorm, im thinking about buying one, soon. what issues did you come across on your 550i?
@@josegarcia2762 Greetings! Valve stem seals are going to go bad. This is the biggest problem with this model. The parts are not expensive but the labor is intense and very costly. It was financially better for me to trade the car rather than repair it.
@@Quietstorm_ATLwill that cause any oil leaks? i recently bought one for $4.3k it runs smooth, 131k miles no dashboard lights, very shiny paint job looks brand new, clean interior, but it does leak oil but it doesn’t give me any indicators.
@@gutterboyy6141 Yes, it will definitely cause the car to leak and/or consume a lot of oil! Excessive oil consumption is one of the first symptoms, then white smoke from the exhaust.
@@Quietstorm_ATL what was your solution for it? i got it for basically $4k so i don’t mind putting extra money into it. do you know if the leaks become a big issue with this car? i want to get it fixed so you know how much it’ll cost?

How did get your lights to flicker?
I had a 2011 550i xdrive. It was beautiful, and the engine was great, but it didn't handle like other great BMW's. It was floaty even in sport mode. I found the 2010 550i was much more fun to drive on a daily basis.
Love it 😍
So what kind of issues we talking here? A used 16 m5 with like 60k is going for like 45 which idk but it seems like a good deal
I’m about to get one, how much do you spend on gas a month or a week ?
I put in 93 and get 21mpg
How is it CC on a long distance drive as far as something like 8 hours or so and What kind of gas mileage do you get on a drive like that?
I drove from GA to MI which is somewhere around 11 hours. It is an excellent cruiser on long drives like that and I got the estimated 25 mpg while cruising 85 + mostly. I’m surprised I did not get a ticket in Ohio.
@@Quietstorm_ATL thanks man that’s some valuable info
How about the valve stem seals. Does drink oil or smoke
No
They burn oil unless you get a 2013 or newer.I got caught buying one for a client and had to do the seals .They all do it .
That is a fun car!!!
I think I will add a 550 to my stable in 2023 if I find the right one.
I have a 550 the engine is incomplete. It’s not Bmw fault it’s Germany environment policy. I brought a used car with a nice body (meaning control arms are good)
You need to::::
Buy cool air intakes for cooling. Delete resonaters because only there for epa reasons that’s also very bad for performance. Then change oil every 3,000 mls not 15,000. Common sense 550 burns 27 more quarts of oil in a life time more then any other car. Meaning oil is being deteriorated faster. Oil catch cans ( don’t ask) or change turbo gaskets every 25k miles and 200,000 here we come like I did and still going.
Those are really nice cars but you must have never replaced timing chain on a n63 engine lol
Remove those CATS asap put some "ARM" downpipes or what ever is your preference because of the engine valve steams issues with the N63. It will save you from a headache later on + the power increases significantly you'll love it even more.
My cousin bought it from me and did install them. Sounds great too!
So you’re saying that an aftermarket set of down pipes will cure the potential “valve stem” failure?
Hi, i am Ahmed from Saudi Arabia just got my 2012 550i, broking engine, got it with 7500 USD
Engine cost about 4000 USD
Any advice on how to make reliable daily use car. Any certain thing need to look after??

The only thing I know is to drop the thermostat to a lower temp
What you think about, 2015 BMW 550i m sport package, for 25,000? With 70k miles. What I’ve learned from bmws don’t buy them new or under about 40k miles unless you want to deal with all the new car problems things.
Usually between 70 and 100k the high pressure fuel pumps go out. Just do your research on the car
I’m lookin at this this or a Benz cls550 leaning more towards the bmw tho 😂😂 not gonna tune or do anything crazy just looking for a fun lil daily

Hows the reliability I feel like I only see negatives on the internet but just doesn't seem to add up since this engine has been in production since 08 all the way till even today no way bmw would make it that bad
All I saw were negatives as well, but people tend to only comment negatives over positives. I think it depends on how well the car was maintained. My carfax was perfect. Serviced frequently at the dealership all its life. Now I will service it just as good
@@AutoDad yea I've noticed that too every car only the negatives are posted, if you dint mind do you have any pointers for what specific maintinces to look for qhen buying one I'm looking to get one driven around 100k km so roughly 60k miles 2012 or 2013
That is relatively low miles so that's a good start. Just look for dealership oil changes, brake services, and things like that. These cars start getting needy around 100k miles. Mine needed both high pressure fuel pumps, plugs and coils. Nothing too bad though. In BMWs only use OEM parts and the nest oil there is. I highly recommend FCP Euro for parts and oil change kits
Love my 2012 550i RWD until I try to floor it and that Drivetrain malfunction notification pops up lol
That would be the high pressure fuel pumps

540i b58 blew on me I’m so nervous to go back I hear horror story’s about this model
How many miles do you believe are too many miles for these cars?
All depends on how it was taken care of. Read the carfax. This is how I knew mine was taken care of. It never missed a service at the BMW dealership. After 100k miles things will start to need replacing. If you enjoy the work then 100k miles is no biggie
@@AutoDad thank you!
Why does it sound so underwhelming though?
Personal I wouldn’t buy a 550i for power/$ also it is nice that you get the tune and already have a good chassis for the car
Looking at a 2011 550i 6 speed manual , higher miles 130k 1 owner any thoughts?
Depends on the price really. Manual is fun though.
I have a 2013 550i 6 spd with 72k miles on it make sure that all the coils have been replaced after 60k miles, no coolant leak in the cylinder walls, you might also want to replace the clutch if its the original clutch. My car had tons of service records but it still shit the bed a few times, but i still love it just make sure everything’s working.
Did you ever buy that car? Currently looking at buying a 2012 550xi with 120,000 miles great service records all at a bmw dealership. Family member selling it too me for low blue book price although it's in pristine condition. Just hear horror stories of higher milage bimmers wondering how long they can last.
What year is your bmw?
2013
I'm in Europe eyeing this for my next car. Thanks. Also, appreciate the Ukrainian flag in the background.
Remove those stickers and put a PPF over your paint. Car already looks insane inside and out
I would' not want an F10 550ii because of the leaking gaskets. It's so bad that BMW caught a lawsuit over the issue which they settled and once repaired there is no guarantee the problem will not return not to mention the customer has to pay the labor cost.
