I drive E350 2014 Coupe and it's an amazing car. One thing you're missing out on this is the intelligent LED headlights. The car is just a masterpiece with that option, so beautiful.
I owned a 2014 E550 Coupe a few years back. I loved that car. Stylish, powerful, comfortable and well equipped. Wish I still had it.

@@chillvelocity5686 drive it hard and the gas is 👎. I drove my father’s 2004 E500 for a week. Gas was horrible. Fun car to drive, extremely fast Although, barely heard that V8 engine under all that thick leather on the dashboard.
Not hating on the car at all Randy. Just saying how bad gas is when you drive it hard. Drive it normally though, you’ll be surprised. It’s not too far off from an E350/E320 as far as MPG is concerned.

That was a steal of a deal! It is so funny how dealers that don't know the car actually don't know how to work or troubleshoot the convertible top. 😂 I have fixed several at the auction just by resetting the package tray or something. Keep doing the newer stuff. It is more interesting.

Love the E550 they are rock solid all engine fast I mean really fast. I had a white E550 the only thing it was not 4matic can’t drive them in snow because the rear end would get there before you do.. Great choice Randy that car will bring a profit, it’s not practical be it’s solid….
19:20 that’s not for folding the headrest that’s a air curtain that blows hot air on your neck if you have the top down on a chilly day
You should really look into an S Class coupe if one comes in your budget. You’ll be blown away!

Looks like something is missing in the trunk, which is the convertible top cradle and the partition piece, that definitely will make the top inoperative.
The vents in the seats are an option called AIRSCARF that cost $3270 🧐
I absolutely love the bougie cars. 😍🥰 I subscribed to Mike as well. I had a 2004 CLK 430 convertible in 2006. I LOVED it. I didn't want it at first but it was lots of fun.
Yo randy the thing u had ur hand on in the trunk the plastic thing on the top of the trunk is the partition u need to pull that down and have it click into place to open ur convertible so many people don’t know this trust me I’m a convertible owner that’s the problem
I missed out on a 2011 convertible E550 for $19k. (It sold on the day I went to look at it). Can't believe you got that for under 15? I ended up settling for a cheap E350 coupe. I like it, but I can't say I "love it". That power, makes me jealous for sure.

I had the same car with almost 150k, the top was extremely reliable, never gave me any issues or leaks. One cool feature on this car is that you can hold the unlock button on the key and the top goes down without you having to be in the car, hold lock button for top up
I tried that and couldn't get it to work for me.

Regarding the partition, I was getting ready to type "just flip it down!" Haha. Shoulda known you'd figure it out. I'm willing to bet the "flood" was the original dealership had it out front with the top down and it got rained in.

I think you should keep it.. it would be a great “summer car”.. or.. a car for when your other cars break 😅 I also forgot they put a V8 in the E class haha this thing is SO cool.. and I love that interior haha I had a 2013 GL550 with this same color combination.. even the V6 powered versions of these cars are so much fun to drive!
I LOVE when other peoples’ stupidity lands you a wind-fall. I had the same experience with a Lincoln Mark VIII’s air-ride suspension. Congrats on finding out that top was actually working!
The W212 and it's derivatives (the A207 in this case) are to me the most beautiful E classes ever. I've never liked the W213 even if it looks a bit like the W222 that I also love.
Just went from a 2020 c300 to a 2023 GLE53 AMG but I had to wait for a year with no car for it to be built and delivered. It was a long year but well worth it. White with the midnight package and I already got a slight tune on it also.. drove it from NY to FL and stay in Daytona Beach for a few days. So happy I didn't get the coupe version because even this one kind of feels small but I have no kids so its big enough for what I need.

I like the older cars because they are the cars that I can buy and attempt to work on before giving up and calling the scrap truck. I do like the newer cars too.

You got a steal on this. I have the previous Gen of this car and I am interested in this one if you want to sell
Put a RENNtech M278 ECU tune on it. It’ll turn it in to a friggen 540 hp, 705 lbs/ft torque missile.
I bought a 2010 S400 hybrid 52K miles, costed me $1500 because it was dead, was told needs $24K to replace the hybrid battery plus $18K to replace electronic control module (a hybrid device) all it needed is software update, also was a CARB state car, 150K miles warranty or 15 years (originally purchased new in CA) seller didn’t know about CARB laws, and dealer in Texas didn’t know about that special warranty,6 years later and now 122K miles, still own it and do my own repairs on it mostly replacing airmatic struts and speed or ABS sensors.
Hey Randy, that is a nice 2014 E550 convertible. Especially with the roof, deflector and headrests working. You are correct that it is not a S-Class; it wasn’t meant to be. If you have to decide between the 2; keep the ‘vert.
I might just keep this one.

a 2014 Mercedes convertible crashed into a family suv today.
Apperently the driver of the Mercedes (Randy) was filming while driving at high speeds.
Which seems very odd to us because his passenger (monkey wrench Mike) was a well known youtuber as well with plenty camera experience.
The family of 5 crossed the intersection and got side swiped by the high speed traveling convertible.
Sad to say their were no survivors.
It's seems a common thing these days influencers think they can drive and film at the same time just for some content.
Apperently they feel above all others and are not taking it all very serious.
Last week we had Emelia Hartford crashing into a building doing the excact same thing with the only differance that she was cross shifting with her left hand and lost control of her 1000hp Corvette.
All we can do is warn the normal drivers that do pay attention to traffic to avoid these high and mighty influencers and give a big thumbs down on their video's so maybe some day these situations will not occur anymore.
And now the weather forecast...

The Distronic function is the adative cruise control it did not activate because you did not have any car in front of you....
The steeringwheel might have a steeringassist function or/and button that you engaged for a bit....
It might have been for the poor surface made the wheel turn a bit bacause the MB ESP-function clicked in for a bit to stabilise the car...
The crappy roadconditions sometimes play games with different driveing security systems....
Does the disable 🛞💨function turn all driveassist functions off or only anti-spin ?
With the Roads of yours I would definately keep the S-class with the airsuspension and cameras that scan the roads it is a very safe car hence there is any crash as well....

Mine is 2014 E550 coupe, potential flood at 6K miles, I bought it and never found any traces of water anywhere in the car, now has 63K miles, Zero issues.
Love the E550 convertible. Luxurious fun.

E550 is a 5.5 liter v8 the s550 is a smaller 4.7 liter v8 I think I bought my clk550 from carvana I had 0 problems for 2 years except the convertible top
Just a little fun fact, the button on the center command cluster isn’t to fold the headrest, its for the air scarf feature 👍

I have the S class 550, the 2014 E550 coupe and 2018 E400 cabriolet, the 2014 E550 my favorite to drive.

We owned a 2015 Mercedes ML-350 that shared a lot of components with this, but in SUV form. I loved it, and it was a car that I wish we still owned.

its called an insurance seat, in other words you don’t pay a sports car surcharge. The air scarf only heats your neck. Doesnt cool it. We had one just like it but sold it because we drove it 1500 miles in two years

Those tops are a nightmare. Something like 22 seals in the hydraulic system, some of them right over your head, and they all leak every 5 years onto your lap. Thousands of dollars to repair. These cars look real slick but are unending money pits.
The way that top folded up an those windows went down was just spectacular! Beautiful car an great job figuring it out.

I think you got another steal of a deal! If you’re going to send it down the road I’d have a Stealership inspect to give it an official clean bill of health so you can get top dollar for it. I would not sell it.

Like any "job" you need to constantly improve your performance to get ahead. These cars gain a new audience and the old audience follows along to see what new places we're going. We'll go back to the old neighbourhood I'm sure and visit while looking for the bumped, bruised, forlorn and elderly. Meanwhile we just watched someone buy a car for half price because someone else didn't know that you had to pull down a piece of plastic to get the top to go down. I enjoy that myself, even if it wasn't me.
I inherited an older A8L Quattro. In great shape, pretty, and the older kid will be taking to their specialized military training for transportation.
I've got about $8k in it, "Getting it right" and doing as much as possible to make sure it won't have any consummable parts failures. Did get a set of new Bilsreins & progressive-rate sport springs (from Germany with TUV certification) and a Magnaflow muffler & tips to replace the "Suitcase" muffler at the very rear. It is a really 😎 looking big sedan
