All good points. 11 years experience in 9 locations in Mexico including PV has taught us much. Yes, to the electricity bill. Also, you can give the reason to ask for the bill as you will need a copy to prove your residence for banks and other things. Check the tinaco to be sure it is clean. You might be amazed at the gross mud that comes out. We flushed ours in Lo De Marcos and oh my! Mud flowed down our roof and down the white walls. Make sure your shower head is not clogged. On demand hot water wastes a lot of water if the unit is far from your residence. You wait and wait for hot water. If you pay for your water and/or gas, this will cost you. If you live in the mountains as we do now, make sure you have a good source of heat and if it is gas, be sure it doesn´t leak. Walk the neighborhoods at various times of the day to see what happens and when so you know about the level of noise and what you are willing and able to integrate with. Above all, integrate. Speak Spanish whenever possible, however poorly. It will help you immensely. If you speak Spanish you will be able to live in a more Mexican neighborhood which is often much less expensive. If you are too hot, move inland. This country is amazing and life is more than just beaches and hurricanes. Suerte y gracias!
Hola! Pictures are so true! We passed originally on the place we bought, because the pics were terrible! Luckily we saw some better ones and realized it was the same place. So we sent our agent over and he did some real time videos! It was great and we ended up buying! LOL!
We currently include all utilities and even a house cleaner once a week (gas, water, electric, internet) and all of our apartments have a washer and dryer in each of them as well as mini splits (AC & heat) You are right! These things are important to make sure of especially the AC when in a place that gets hot!
Marc & Kathleen, thank you for this video. I will probably be rewatching this over and over to go over these points. It seems straight forward, but as with anything , you won't know until you go out and do it. I was unaware of TINACO, that was something that I didn't know about. The water pressure in an apt is important, especially in a hot humid place like PV. I heard something today on another channel about PV having some water issues, that there lack of access in some neighbourhoods. Have you heard anything about this? I hope this clears up, that it doesn't become a problem to the residents who live there. Thanks again. Peace.
Thank you! I haven’t heard that this is a consistent issue but for some reason I feel 5D has issues most often. It could be that I just see those messages pop up most often on Facebook 🤷🏻♂️
What do you think about starling and why wouldn’t you have it with all you do? I am assuming I will need good internet there than here as I plan on being healthier more active and getting back into real estate finance I used to own a mortgage company here and miss it terribly hopefully will be healthier there
It’s typically not needed if you live centrally located! I’m sure some people have it however our current internet is great where we live! It really depends!
How can I learn Spanish faster just not grasping it on filing and 7 other apps I have I can do everyday words but conversations are not clicking with me we are practicing everyday but finding it hard to
There’s nothing better than learning in person. There are language exchange events you could probably find on Facebook, tutors or classes help as well! I’d like to eventually take intermediate classes to advance my speaking abilities!
Can we use our streaming channels on tv there? Netflix, etc. very helpful video!! Thank u! Is it humid year round ? I'm having trouble finding the answer to the humidity.
Yes streaming services work here! There also cheaper if you sign up in Mexico lol It's not humid year round? I can't tell you on avg the humidity levels but in high season the weather is beautiful, hot but not humid.
It seems that many of the apartments are on FB. I don't use FB. Is there a site that gives good advice on different locations to stay for short-term stay? I have been looking and there's not much info on Google. TY for this vlog and your other vlogs, they are really useful as I will be coming over soon.
THank you :) Honestly if you're planning on coming I would create a Facebook profile as it's the best way to look for rentals and stay up to date with what's going on via Facebook groups. Otherwise you could check out manoamano.mx or airbnb.

evb1601 - What neighborhood do you live in? We love the mountains but want to be close to the beach (a drive, not necessarily a walk).
You are living most Canadian's dream right now. Great tips. Keep the fire content coming!!
Thank you 😊 came with a lot of sacrifices but it was well worth it!

The opposite is also true where they showed beautiful pictures on the apartment next door - the apartment for rent was not so beautiful lol
Yes thats true too! Unfortunately! lol
