It is actually just a phone attachment to where you can get PS five side controllers for your phone so when you connect your phone to your PlayStation, you can Mobley play from there.
What’s the point of a handheld if it’s cloud only, with a handheld you’re going to be traveling and playing and when you have no network you can’t play. Or you might be living at a hotel with slow wifi that can barely handle cloud gaming. If you download the ps4 app you can already play cloud gaming if you have a controller attatched.

One key incorrect thing said here: The PS Portal is not a cloud streaming device. It is a remote play device and as of now it will not support cloud streaming. That may be a feature later. Also, it is a PS5 accessory. Not sure why anyone would complain if they can't get it to do something not for a PS5.
It’s only terrible if you dont have a ps5 but it does solve some issues because if it can function well while youre travelling. It really isnt that bad of a product. I’d still want to continue the games that im playing in my downtime. It wont be for everyone but its essentially a ps5 on the go.
I’m actually excited for it. Regular handhelds have pretty bad graphics, this would give you ps5 AND ps5 pro(when that releases the next year) level graphics on a handheld. I think we need a new device. I'm grabbing this when it comes out. When I can't be bothered to leave the bedroom I just grab the portable. It's an accessory for ps5 owners. What's not to like? It's under $200
You get the PS5 controller experience on that device for remote play. You can use it when family wants to watch tv, when you are watching your food in the kitchen while cooking, when you cant use the room of your ps5 or if you just want to lay in bed/couch in other room for example. You dont want to use your phone for a 2 gaming session when you wait for a call,you also cant make calls on your phone while remote playing, phones are not always charged. Its way more easy to optimize the software for a dedicated remote device then for different devices and operating systems. This device wont be a vita/psp for good reason, like splitting player base, developers et cetera. It does not make any sense for them releasing a handheld these days. Handheld chips get old so fast these days, it would be even worse disaster than the vita was. There is nothing terrible about the idea at all there is a market for it its pure fan service of the PS5. You might think you dont need it and thats fine but others might buy it.

Im having difficulty understanding why someone would want this, the whole point of a handheld is portability. You need to be on the same network as your PS5 to use it, but in that case you can just go use your PS5. I have no clue which hotels you go but I’ve been to 4 star hotels and extremely nice cabins and the internet isn’t good even for my switch for certain features . I end up making a hotspot. This product looks kind of cool but with streaming only with good internet , it’s not going to work well .
Pretty sure this will be a good alternative to buying an actual PS5. My guess is you'll be able to use this with a PS5 or with PS+ streaming. Save money on the device, buy subscription. Sony gets to build a cheaper device and make a profit on hardware.

I would rather just buy a backbone controller and use the PlayStation cloud app. I would work the exact same and the back bone controller looks 100x nicer and more natural for portable gaming.

Im having difficulty understanding why someone would want this, the whole point of a handheld is portability. You need to be on the same network as your PS5 to use it, but in that case you can just go use your PS5. Do they really expect people to spend all that money just to be able to take their game into another room of the same house?
Research more. It can be used anywhere that has wifi. Not just the same house.

Its literally a ps5 accessory. Why would it have compadability with non ps5 things like gforce now, gamepass, ea play and the like? The purpose is a niche purpose whuch means sales probably wont be that well but itcwill help those people pretty well.

I have no clue which hotels you go but I’ve been to 4 star hotels and extremely nice cabins and the internet isn’t good even for my switch for certain features . I end up making a hotspot. This product looks kind of cool but with streaming only with good internet , it’s not going to work well .
Pretty sure this will be a good alternative to buying an actual PS5. My guess is you'll be able to use this with a PS5 or with PS+ streaming. Save money on the device, buy subscription. Sony gets to build a cheaper device and make a profit on hardware.

Its even worse than youre describing it. A tablet dedicated to cloudplay wouldnt be so bad for demographics with good wifi connections, but this literally is just screen sharing from your ps5. You likely wouldnt be able to play any ps now games, only what u have on your ps5 library
